Tang Qing came to the bathroom and happened to look up, catching sight of himself in the mirror.
His hair had long been tousled by Sephiroth, his eye sockets slightly moist, making his black eyes appear even darker and more tender.
His originally soft, pale earlobes had somehow flushed pink, and his lips were bright red and luscious, like overly ripe cherries covered in a deep crimson.
A word suddenly popped into Tang Qing’s mind—one that seemed to describe him perfectly.
Alluring.
Tang Qing’s face flushed hot.
How did he suddenly end up looking so strange?
It had to be Sephiroth’s fault. These shameless vampires always activated inexplicable powers in the strangest places.
Actually, Tang Qing couldn’t blame Sephiroth entirely. The blood of a powerful vampire indeed temporarily enhanced other vampires’ abilities, but to humans, it only had an intoxicating effect.
Not to mention Sephiroth was a vampire prince; the enchanting effect of his blood was even stronger, which explained why Tang Qing had momentarily lost control and become so easily “overheated”.
…
The next day, Tang Qing stepped out of Sephiroth’s bedchamber, ready to fetch cleaning tools outside and start his work.
Unexpectedly, before he reached the tool room, someone stopped him.
Butler Liszt saw Tang Qing from afar and called out, “Tang Qing, what are you doing here?”
Tang Qing pointed toward the tool room and replied matter-of-factly, “Butler, I’m here to get cleaning tools.”
“Please wait a moment.”
Liszt approached Tang Qing, then his face suddenly changed as if he’d discovered something serious.
Tang Qing looked at Liszt in confusion, but Liszt quickly regained his usual calm.
He stiffened his expression and said sternly, “Tang Qing, from now on, you don’t need to do other work during the day. You only need to focus on serving Lord Sephiroth.”
Tang Qing was a bit puzzled. He really wanted to say, Butler, you didn’t say that yesterday.
But who wouldn’t want to slack off if they had a chance? O╮(U () U)╭o
So Tang Qing gladly accepted and nodded with a smile.
As Tang Qing was leaving, he wasn’t sure if he was imagining it, but he felt Butler Liszt’s usually cold expression suddenly flicker with a trace of doubt and suspicion.
Tang Qing scratched his head in puzzlement. That look from the butler seemed oddly familiar. When he was a child, a rich neighbour’s spoiled daughter was caught in a youthful romance, and her father looked at that scoundrel with exactly the same gaze.
In fact, it wasn’t a delusion. Even as Tang Qing left, Liszt continued to look at him with a gaze that was hard to describe—intense and fixed.
“Slave over there, come move this upstairs.”
A heavy bag of supplies lay on the ground. A tall and muscular vampire saw Tang Qing passing by from afar and casually ordered, “I’m talking to you, the skinny slave.”
In this survival-of-the-fittest vampire world, people like Tang Qing with a small stature were the favourite targets for bullying.
But as Tang Qing approached, the man’s face instantly turned fearful, and he kept apologising, “Sorry to disturb your rest, sir. You don’t need to do this heavy work yourself.”
Tang Qing: “???”
The man didn’t dare say anything more or even look at Tang Qing, just bowed his head and started moving the bag himself.
Tang Qing continued forward. When he reached the corridor, a hungry-looking vampire suddenly appeared, staring at Tang Qing with excitement:
“A human is here, just in time for afternoon tea.”
The man quickly bared two sharp fangs and approached Tang Qing.
Tang Qing was startled, just about to draw the precious dagger Princess Lily had given him.
But then the man abruptly slammed on the brakes and knelt with a thud:
“Forgive me, my lord, for disturbing you. Please do not blame my offence.”
Tang Qing: “???”
Throughout that day, Tang Qing realised that the vampires in the castle were watching him with strange expressions. After all the days spent in Castle Csejte, it was the first time he had seen such varied looks on the vampires’ faces.
Tang Qing curiously sniffed himself—he shouldn’t be smelling bad, right?
[Host, how silly are you? Because you drank Sephiroth’s blood yesterday, today, everyone else can feel the prince’s pressure emanating from you.] System 99 couldn’t help but pop up.
Only then did Tang Qing remember.
Yesterday, Sephiroth abruptly pulled him into a long kiss and even bit him, drawing blood. Later, Tang Qing was so focused on the changes in his own body that he forgot the most important part.
He never expected that what Sephiroth said was true—he had really been marked by Sephiroth.
So, does that mean everyone can tell at a glance that he kissed Sephiroth?
Thinking of this, Tang Qing felt utterly miserable.
He couldn’t help but silently curse again in his heart—such a shameless vampire.
…
In the evening, Castle Csejte suddenly became lively.
Countess Bathory returned.
She wore a tight, sleek black dress, exuding a dangerous and seductive aura. Her steps were graceful and light, yet carried a hint of alluring sensuality. A maid followed closely behind, holding up her skirt, making her appear as noble as a queen.
Behind her walked a young nobleman.
He wore a single-breasted black suit with a light grey striped shirt underneath. His sleeves were adorned with exquisite yet understated silver cufflinks, contrasting the serious suit with a touch of classic gentlemanly charm. His elegant manners and refined attire made him look like the perfect gentleman.
“99, is this a guest?” Tang Qing asked curiously, hiding to watch.
[Host, this person is Nick Jackson1Did you know? The actor who played the father in The Shining is named Jack Nicholson? The one who says “Here’s Johnny!”, Countess Bathory’s younger brother. He came today to seek refuge with her.] System 99 replied.
But Tang Qing couldn’t help feeling that every gesture and glance from Nick seemed somewhat strange.
Though siblings, their personalities were polar opposites.
Countess Bathory was like a cold blade hidden in silk—dangerous and unrestrained, disdainful of concealment; Nick preferred to display the appearance of a gentleman, masking his true harsh and malicious nature inside.
It was precisely because of this that they formed a perfect pair. Bathory was captivating, while Nick was gentle and patient, with the talent to deceive and entice crowds. When they were still human, the two often collaborated ruthlessly to achieve their goals.
However, having both become vampires, they had not seen each other for decades.
Countess Bathory yawned lazily, impatiently saying, “Nick, why did you come so early? I haven’t even had enough sleep yet.”
Nick smiled gently, “Sister, I just wanted to see you sooner.”
Countess Bathory snapped, “Who would believe that? You don’t care about your sister at all. All you do is seduce men. Who knows which man’s bed you were enjoying yourself on last night?”
Nick, unfazed by his sister’s jibe, maintained his gentlemanly smile and replied, “No man compares to my beloved sister.”
Bathory and Nick seldom interacted. In fact, ever since they became vampires, they no longer cared much about human blood ties.
But Bathory could tell without thinking twice that her usually uninvited brother had come to Castle Csejte to get close to Lord Sephiroth.
Back when he was still human, Nick had this annoying habit: despite his polite and gentlemanly appearance, he would be instantly captivated the moment he saw a handsome man.
Now that he was a vampire, this trait had only intensified. Vampires thrive on excitement, and sexuality was as commonplace to them as daily meals.
Rumour had it that Nick loved to put on his refined gentlemanly act to deceive human men and women.
Once he brought them to their peak, he would drain them dry.
And now, he was definitely here for Lord Sephiroth, who resided at Castle Csejte.
Just Sephiroth’s appearance alone attracted countless vampires desperate to exchange blood—or, in other words, to get intimate.
Among vampires, intimate relations between them allow for a degree of mutual power transfer. Especially since Sephiroth was a vampire prince, possessing unmatched, overwhelming strength.
This meant that even gaining just one ten-thousandth of his power could cause a massive transformation in any vampire.
For anyone craving power, this was an irresistible temptation.
Thus, for vampires, being with Sephiroth had become a coveted fantasy. Even just once, even just a taste—being touched and used by him as a sacrifice—was enough to be the honour of a lifetime.
In the vampire world, he was as tempting as Tang Seng’s flesh is to humans.
“Let’s go. I’ll introduce you to Lord Sephiroth,” Countess Bathory said bluntly, fully aware of her brother’s intentions.
“Thank you, sister.” Nick smiled gently and followed Bathory toward the main hall at a leisurely pace, showing no impatience.
Passing through the corridor, Nick glanced at Tang Qing from afar.
Tang Qing stood beneath a window, the setting sun shining on his face. Having exchanged blood with Sephiroth only yesterday, his skin seemed even fairer and softer, with red lips and white teeth, delicate and tender.
His eyes were lowered, pure and clear black eyes without a trace of impurity.
Nick couldn’t help but pause and look again.
He had indulged plenty and seen all kinds of people. Easterners rarely travelled far; this was his first time truly seeing an Easterner. He’d only heard they had yellow skin and black eyes.
Unexpectedly, this Eastern youth was much more handsome than he’d imagined.
Countess Bathory glanced sideways at Tang Qing and immediately understood what Nick was thinking.
She impatiently explained, “He’s just a good-looking foreign human servant.”
Nick withdrew his gaze without lingering.
Right now, his most important matter was to meet the vampire prince.

MY WHOLE COMMENT WAS DELETED, MY SAFARI QUIT I HAD TO WRITE IT AGAIN!!! Also I’m not a show off, I got to read the elements before the exam but my bladder decided it was my time and I didn’t check only that one, I’m just sad because I know I could’ve gotten a 100. I know 83% is a lot but getting it 11% down is very bad because I want to be a valedictorian and I need it as there a re thousands of people in my school. Can u tell me how much u used to get marks in a 100% if you don’t mid. ALSO I ABSOLUTELY HATE THAT NICK GUY HE FOR SOME REASON BRINGS OUT MY DEEP ROOTED HATING!!! Also this O╮(U () U)╭o is soo cute. I hope they can just get together now[our baby tangtang and our ml]. Thank you for the chapter ChuRen jiejie.
It depends… I used to be the top 1 in the grade. Then my grades dropped cuz I got a phone 😛
At that point, I hated studying. So I went ahead, got myself into afternoon school as well, and graduated 2 years early. I got my degree in Psychology before I turned 19.
As for valedictorian… I wasn’t one for my grade, but somehow I was invited to the senior graduation ceremony to give a speech. So a whole year before my own graduation, I was invited to give a speech. I normally sleep in class, but I’ll still get in the top 3. If I do pay attention and the topic is something I’m interested in, I’ll make sure to get it to 90% at least. But most of the time I am not interested in the subjects.
For example, English classes. I did sleep in class, that’s for sure. But that’s because my English was the best among my peers, and I finish my work in 20 mins while the others take an hour. So the teacher lets me sleep in class. It was said by our seniors to be the hardest subject to pass, even though we are studying in a full English school. But eh, I still managed to get an A 😛
Thanks for reading~
