Tang Qing finally noticed the black cat on the ground.
“Little kitty, what are you doing here? Didn’t I tell you to stay away from these vampires?” he exclaimed.
“These vampires are all up to no good. A little kitty like you wouldn’t even be a snack for them,” Tang Qing warned.
The black cat gave him a chilly glance, its emerald eyes gleaming with arrogance, as if the maid’s words were utterly ludicrous.
Tang Qing seemed momentarily lost in the cat’s green eyes, his round eyes blinking in confusion.
Did he startle this maid?
She must have a very timid disposition.
The black cat thought to itself, exasperated.
While the black cat was momentarily distracted, Tang Qing rushed forward and swept the cat up into his arms.
Actually, with the black cat’s speed, it could have easily dodged the maid’s embrace.
Ah well, since the maid was so easily frightened, he decided to let it slide.
Thus, with the resigned cat nestled in his arms, Tang Qing blissfully exclaimed, “Little black cat, you’re so adorable! You look cool no matter what expression you make! So cute, so cute, I just want to shower you with kisses!”
After confirming the disappearance of the vampire, Tang Qing returned to the resting room, cradling the cat in his arms.
In the afternoon, Tang Qing found Ike again. Ike had just finished cleaning Countess Bathory’s room, and when he saw Tang Qing, he stood there earnestly waiting.
As usual, the lad blushed and stumbled over his words upon seeing Tang Qing.
“Countess Bathory only returns to Castle Csejte sporadically. She comes back for a few days each week and then disappears for several days,” Ike explained.
“Sometimes, when she returns, she’s in a good mood, radiant and glowing. Other times, her complexion is poor, and she immediately calls for the maids to attend to her…”
Tang Qing effortlessly extracted various habits of Countess Bathory from Ike.
And by the way, he discreetly swiped the key from Ike’s waist.
In the evening, Tang Qing enthusiastically helped the chef in the kitchen prepare a few oriental dishes: garlic vermicelli steamed scallops, garlic steamed prawns, garlic baby bok choy…
“You’re welcome, you’re welcome! These are the only dishes I know how to make, so let everyone have a taste,” Tang Qing said cheerfully.
As Tang Qing carefully inspected the Countess’s luxurious room, he applied the garlic he had swiped from the kitchen onto his neck. He couldn’t help but scrunch his nose at the pungent smell.
Ah, now he had transformed into an Eastern dish – the Garlic Maid Tang Qing. Though the scent was a bit overpowering, it was certainly better than being a vampire’s dinner, he thought.
In the dead of night, around two or three in the morning, Tang Qing quietly pushed open the door and tiptoed up to the third floor. Using the stolen key, he unlocked Countess Bathory’s room.
In the moonlight, he meticulously examined the Countess’s chamber. The room was grand, exuding the opulence typical of a noble lady’s abode, meticulously cleaned by servants daily.
After conducting a thorough search and not finding anything amiss, Tang Qing combined the knowledge of the hidden passageways from the maid’s resting room and meticulously searched around once more. In doing so, he discovered a mechanism on the wall.
Taking a deep breath, Tang Qing stepped into the hidden chamber.
After taking a few steps forward, he caught a whiff of a strong metallic scent, accompanied by faint, distant moans that sent shivers down his spine.
Following the sounds, Tang Qing made his way to the end of the passage and finally beheld the secret hidden by Countess Bathory within the castle.
“My esteemed Countess, the fresh blood for your bath is prepared,” sounded the voice of the butler Andrew.
Compared to his usual stiff, pale smile, his current expression was incredibly vivid and authentic, his eyes glowing with a crimson light.
“Excellent, Andrew,” a voice of elegance and grandeur responded. Soon after, there came the sound of disrobing and entering a tub.
Tang Qing crouched down, attempting to minimize his presence, discreetly observing the scene behind the door.
Before him stood a woman of unparalleled beauty, untouched by the passage of time. Her skin was as pale as that of a corpse, her red eyes alluring and crimson, while her lips were as red as a blooming rose.
Casually and elegantly holding a large cup of red liquid, emitting a scent reminiscent of a young maiden, she gracefully brought it to her lips, each drop savored with intoxicating delight.
As Tang Qing observed the Countess immersed in a large tub full of fresh blood, her naked body bathed in the crimson liquid, the juxtaposition of her snow-white skin against the vivid red blood was both beguiling and terrifying.
Lost in the pleasures that beauty brought, the Countess’s gaze grew even more sinister and arrogant, exuding an intoxicated sense of satisfaction.
Butler Andrew would occasionally bring bowls brimming with fresh, hot blood and pour them into the tub to ensure the blood remained warm and uncoagulated.
Tang Qing closed his eyes, feeling his whole body shivering, his strength draining as if sucked away, his legs turning weak. The scene before him resembled a living hell, as if witnessing a female ghost feasting on blood.
He never imagined he would witness such a gory spectacle in his lifetime.
Waves of nausea washed over him, but with immense effort, Tang Qing suppressed the urge to vomit.
At that moment, he realised the true level of depravity hidden within the seemingly magnificent Castle Csejte.
No wonder Countess Bathory needed to lure so many girls to the castle—her thirst for blood far exceeded that of a typical vampire.
No wonder the Countess disappeared within the castle, sometimes with a pale complexion and other times glowing with radiance.
During her grim moments, she fulfilled missions for the Vampire Prince.
And during her radiant days, she luxuriated in the feast of young girls’ blood in the dark room on the third floor.
Tang Qing fervently hoped to complete his mission soon, to rescue those imprisoned underground and expose the castle’s wickedness to the world.
For the first time, an overwhelming desire to eradicate this malicious woman surged within him, wishing to rid the world of her evil presence.
After what seemed like hours or perhaps a century, Tang Qing finally heard the sound of dressing.
The Countess gracefully dried her fingertips stained with blood, donned a pure white nightgown, and gracefully made her way towards the door.
Tang Qing continued to hold his breath, crouching in the corner.
Just as the Countess reached the door, ready to depart, she suddenly turned around, wearing a bewitching smile on her face.
“Eastern maid, do all girls from the East smell as fragrant and sweet as you?”

OH DANG HE IN TROUBLE!!! Also like, LIKE SERIOUSLY does garlic repel vampires? I feel like I’m learning so many words and stuff while reading, I excel in my English class a lot more than my peers for these reasons such as my exquisite novels. Look at that sentence I wrote so elegantly. Idc what doctors know when it comes to her, I just wanted to diss her, like her and her family like mom and stuff were bad to my mother before so I HATE THEM!!! Also like they are the bad type relatives. I didn’t know tomatoes could be sweet, I see it as a vegetable and only going with spice not sweet. Also I’m so thankful to you and this website cause like I found out YOU HAVE TO PAY for chapters later on in the novel in the original novel page. Like thank you I can read it for free!!! Thank you for the chapter ChuRen jiejie.
Yes you do need to pay for them. I bought all the chapters lmao(This is also why I ask for Kofi support cuz like I do need to spend money to get these chapters).
I hate tomatoes so I don’t really pay attention to them but I read that you can make them sweeter by sprinkling salt and baking them to dry them out.
Thanks for reading~
