After finishing breakfast, Lu Bei carried Tang Qing’s bag while they walked together.
Lu Bei stuck close to Tang Qing, expressing his dissatisfaction, “These lab sessions you have every week are so annoying. That bald professor doesn’t allow anyone to audit the class.”
Tang Qing was studying clinical surgery in the medical school, while Lu Bei was a sports student in the Sports Academy. Apart from their shared courses, Lu Bei would always try to enroll in the same classes as Tang Qing, sitting next to him and even attending Tang Qing’s specialized courses.
Whether it was human anatomy, pathology, pharmacology, Lu Bei would sit seriously next to Tang Qing, attentively watching his classes and taking notes for him. He would even raise his hand to answer questions, earning extra points under Tang Qing’s name.
It wasn’t until the final exam when the teacher handed out the papers that they discovered the student with the highest grades in the class, named Tang Qing, wasn’t the tall and athletic sports student.
Tang Qing helplessly said, “You should stay a bit further away from our lab. Every time you show up, those rabbits tremble in fear.”
Raising an eyebrow, Lu Bei leaned in close to Tang Qing, “What’s wrong, Tang Tang? Am I really that terrifying?”
Who would dare say that Lu Bei, the school’s heartthrob, was terrifying? Anyone with eyes could see there was nothing to pick on about his well-defined, mixed-race handsome face.
However, to small animals, Lu Bei, who was tall and intimidating, with a somewhat fierce look in his eyes when he didn’t smile, didn’t seem like someone who loved small creatures. The dogs in the neighborhood would get nervous and bark like crazy every time they saw him.
After a moment of thought, Tang Qing said, “You look too dignified, like you know how to cook rabbits very well.”
Lu Bei chuckled, and his handsome face seemed to remind him of something as he said, “If Tang Tang likes spicy rabbit meat, then I’ll have to endure the pain of my conscience and cook rabbits. If Tang Tang loves fish, I’ve already mastered eighteen ways to cook fish.”
After saying that, he hugged Tang Qing tightly, saying, “If Tang Tang likes the moon in the sky, I’ll figure out a way to bring it down for you.”
He escorted Tang Qing all the way to the lab and instructed him, “Wait for me after class for lunch.”
Seeing Tang Qing obediently nod, Lu Bei reluctantly let go of his hand and left, looking back three times before finally walking away.
As Tang Qing entered the lab, a female classmate teased him, “Wow, the school grass is actually letting you attend class alone.” Everyone knew these two were practically inseparable, and only during lab sessions could Tang Qing be seen on his own.
Tang Qing took his seat, and the girl named Li Feifei turned to him, jokingly asking, “Are you really not a couple? My friend really likes seeing you guys together.”
Seeing the excitement in her eyes, Tang Qing suspected that the friend she was talking about might be her, but he had no evidence.
“We are really not a couple.”
“Can I add you on WeChat? I won’t bother you, I just want to lie down.”
Over the years, many girls wanted to add Tang Qing on WeChat. Some had feelings for him, while others were simply fans of his and Lu Bei’s relationship, enjoying their interactions.
Tang Qing had no ill intentions towards these girls because they weren’t harassing him; they simply admired his appearance or other aspects. Tang Qing had a soft heart and couldn’t bear to refuse, especially since adding someone on WeChat wasn’t a big deal, so he often agreed.
“Sorry, I don’t usually use WeChat, it’s inconvenient.”
Li Feifei seemed disappointed, but she could understand. After all, Tang Qing, with his excellent grades and good looks, had become a prominent figure at school, and he must have had countless people adding him on WeChat.
But she was mistaken.
Tang Qing only had family and one or two friends on his WeChat. Because Lu Bei often checked his phone, any other friends who were added would be deleted by Lu Bei. This was the reason why Tang Qing refused to add new friends from then on.
Remembering Lu Bei’s reasoning at the time, “Tang Tang, having me is enough, you don’t need so many friends.”
After completing the experiment, Tang Qing found the teaching assistant to apply for weekend practice in the lab. The teaching assistant happened to be the senior from the student council, Chen Ming.
Chen Ming agreed and took out his phone, saying, “Tang Qing, let’s exchange WeChat. Just let me know in advance when you want to practice.”
Tang Qing hesitated, thinking he would explain to Lu Bei later about the frequent interactions with the teaching assistant, and took out his phone.
“What are you doing?” a cold voice came from behind.
Tang Qing turned around and indeed, it was Lu Bei.
Narrowing his eyes, Lu Bei looked at Tang Qing’s phone screen and asked with a smile that wasn’t quite a smile, “Adding WeChat? What is there to chat about?”
Before Tang Qing could respond, Chen Ming answered, “Tang Qing wants to borrow the lab, I need to check the schedule and inform him.”
Lu Bei stared straight at Chen Ming, his tone heavy, “Tang Qing doesn’t usually use WeChat, it’s not convenient for him to receive your notifications. Just add me on WeChat, since we’re together every day, I’ll pass on his messages.”
Hearing this, Chen Ming couldn’t help but say, “As far as I know, Lu Bei, you’re just Tang Qing’s friend, right? If he wants to add someone, does he need to apply to you?”
Tall in stature, Lu Bei reached out and put his arm around Tang Qing’s shoulder, looking down at Chen Ming with a possessive look in his eyes.
“All of A University knows that Tang Qing’s affairs are my affairs. If you want to add him on WeChat, you have to request my permission. Don’t you know that, Senior?”
The tension between them escalated instantly.
Afraid that Lu Bei would explode later, Tang Qing tried to defuse the situation, “I don’t usually check WeChat much. Senior, let’s create a group chat with the three of us. If you have any notifications, please send them in the group. Would that work?”
Seeing Tang Qing’s stance, Chen Ming had to agree. In an awkward atmosphere, the three of them created a group chat, and Chen Ming left the classroom.
Lu Bei watched Chen Ming’s departure, snorting coldly. No one dared come near his Tang Qing.
He hugged Tang Qing, rested his head on Tang Qing’s shoulder, and said in a hoarse voice, “Tang Tang, stay away from that whatever senior, he doesn’t have good intentions towards you.”
Tang Qing nodded. Even though he didn’t think Chen Ming had bad intentions, he knew Lu Bei’s nature and how he wouldn’t allow any new friends around him.
There was a message on his phone, a group chat with him, Lu Bei, and their friend Zhang Chiheng.
【Zhang Chiheng: Bei-ge, Tang Tang, I’m waiting for you guys at the fish restaurant by the entrance.】
Zhang Chiheng was one of the few friends Tang Qing could be friends with with Lu Bei’s approval. Since Zhang Chiheng was also their neighbor, they knew each other well and had played together since childhood.
But Zhang Chiheng was quite talkative. He liked sending messages to many of his friends, including Tang Qing, who would reply when he had time. After all, there weren’t many people Tang Qing could chat with on WeChat.
Once Lu Bei saw them chatting on WeChat, he directly took Tang Qing’s phone.
【Tang Qing: Zhang Chiheng, I just realized today, you talk a lot.】
This message clearly wasn’t in Tang Qing’s usual tone, and Zhang Chiheng immediately guessed who it was.
【Zhang Chiheng: Bei-ge, I was just chatting with Tang Qing.】
Lu Bei created a group chat with his own WeChat ID, adding Tang Qing and Zhang Chiheng, then put his arm around Tang Qing’s shoulder and said, “Zhang Chiheng is someone you can be friends with. But he’s too naive, don’t talk to him too much, it might rub off on you.”
【Lu Bei: In the future, if you have anything to say to Tang Tang, say it in the group chat.】
Zhang Chiheng was used to Lu Bei’s possessive nature and didn’t argue. He no longer chatted with Tang Qing privately, occasionally sending messages in the group chat. Despite studying at the same school, they often met up for meals.
“Student Lu Bei.” A cute and delicate-looking male student walked out from the corner, catching up with them.
“Hmm.” Lu Bei glanced at him indifferently before continuing to talk to Tang Qing.
The male student’s name was Xu Minghong, and he had been secretly in love with Lu Bei for a long time. He had been wanting to find a chance to confess his feelings to Lu Bei, but Lu Bei was either working out with the sports students or sticking to Tang Qing, and he couldn’t find a moment when Lu Bei was alone.
He initially thought that Lu Bei and Tang Qing were a couple, but later saw online posts that clarified they were just friends. He glanced at Tang Qing and admitted that Tang Qing was indeed quite good-looking, living up to his reputation as the school’s beauty. However, he didn’t consider himself bad-looking either; he had been popular since childhood and had no shortage of admirers.
Taking a deep breath, he said, “Tang Qing, I have something to tell Lu Bei. Could you please step aside?”
Seeing the shy and hesitant look in Xu Minghong’s eyes when he glanced at Lu Bei, Tang Qing nodded and moved to the side to wait for Lu Bei.
However, Lu Bei grabbed Tang Qing’s hand, interlocking their fingers and refusing to let him go. Lu Bei coldly addressed Xu Minghong, “If you have something to say, just say it directly. I have nothing to avoid in front of Tang Qing.”
Xu Minghong, looking somewhat dissatisfied after glancing at Tang Qing, mustered his courage and said to Lu Bei, “Lu Bei, I left a letter on your dorm desk. Did you see it?”
Without even looking at him, Lu Bei absentmindedly played with Tang Qing’s slender fingers and casually replied, “Didn’t see it, threw it away.”
Gathering his courage, Xu Minghong said, “Lu Bei, I like you. After seeing you play basketball on the court that day, I fell deeply in love with you. I joined the basketball team just to get closer to you…”
Upon hearing this, Lu Bei glanced at Xu Minghong with disgust, his tone full of disdain, frowning and harshly saying, “How disgusting. So you’re gay. Get some help, stay away from us.”
Tang Qing couldn’t help but whisper, “Lu Bei, don’t discriminate against gay people.”
Unhappy, Lu Bei retorted, “What, Tang Tang, don’t you find gays disgusting? They’re promiscuous, they get diseases, some even swing both ways, it’s sickening

Tang Qing didn’t respond. Although unfamiliar with this community, he felt there was no need to maliciously attack them.
With a disgusted look, Lu Bei addressed Xu Minghong, saying, “Xu-whatever, voluntarily drop out of the team. Don’t let me see you again, or else you’ll regret it.”

the biggest homophobics are just afraid to accept they themselves are gay, also that xu guy to should have a spine and go away the moment he saw them that close I mean he should have some self respect to himself getting rejected that badly anyways Lu bei will regret it talking all nonsense about gays. Thanks for the update ChuRen jiejie.
Yes, like a certain family member of mine who thinks gays are disgusting but then turns around and sleeps with a man (he doesn’t know that I know but the family driver told me about it when he was driving me to work).
