The silhouette of the castle appeared faint and indistinct in the mist, as if it could vanish from sight at any moment. The tall spires were shrouded by the thick fog, leaving only vague shadows visible. Every window was pitch black, as though this place had been completely cut off from the mortal world, no longer belonging to the time and life of humans.

The whole world faded into uncertainty under this hazy mist, with only the scenes in memory remaining clear.

Tang Qing didn’t know under what identity he should return to the castle; he only wanted to see how Julian was doing now.

[Host, don’t go that way.] System 99 suddenly warned. [There is a magical boundary there; if you cross it, you will trigger an alarm.]

Tang Qing quickly stopped. He remembered that when he had left Castle Csejte before, he had triggered this very magical alarm, which led to Countess Bathory discovering him.

[Host, I’ve checked. You can climb up from that corner on the right. The magic there is weak; I can barely control it for a few minutes.] System 99 said.

“Alright,” Tang Qing replied.

He tiptoed to a gap, moved aside the creeping ivy covering the entrance, and carefully climbed up the old stone wall of the castle.

Standing atop the wall, looking down at the full view of the castle, the surroundings were pitch black and silent; no one was in sight. Just as Tang Qing thought he had finally found an opportunity and was about to quietly climb down, he vaguely saw two figures engaged in an intense struggle beneath the distant woods.

What were they doing?

Grasping the ivy firmly, Tang Qing leaned forward curiously to take a closer look.

The two figures in the woods were hidden in shadows, but occasionally the moonlight passed through the trees, briefly illuminating their entwined bodies. Though he couldn’t see clearly, the unmistakable heavy breaths made it easy to guess what they were doing.

It was Countess Bathory and a man making love in the wilderness.

Tang Qing knew he should immediately climb down and leave, but he couldn’t help but lean forward, trying to uncover more. Just as he leaned in, the stone slab beneath the battlement suddenly emitted a sharp creak.

Frightened, he froze and crouched stiffly on the roof.

However, the two were too absorbed in their pleasure to notice him.

Tang Qing’s legs were numb from crouching, and he prepared to climb down. It had rained two days before; the wall was slippery and slick. Suddenly, his foot slipped, and his body lost balance, falling forward.

Just as he was about to fall from the high wall and be discovered by the Countess—at that moment, a shadow suddenly appeared behind him, extending an arm to catch him securely.

Tang Qing fell into a firm, cool embrace, his heart racing from both the close call and the rescue. Leaning against that person’s chest, he gasped and trembled, utterly stunned.

The man was tall and imposing, his face handsome and stern, radiating an aura that warned strangers to stay away.

His arms wrapped tightly around Tang Qing’s waist with immense strength; the embrace was solid and broad.

But the embrace was icy cold.

He was Sephiroth, the vampire prince.

They were just behind a large tree, perfectly hidden from the view of Countess Bathory and the stranger.

Tang Qing awkwardly covered his mouth, held tightly in the man’s arms.

“Where did this stray cat come from, hiding here to spy?”

Tang Qing dared not answer, fearing that the two would discover him. Yet he didn’t realise that with the man’s power, when he didn’t want to be seen, no one could spot him.

At that moment, the two behind the forest shifted to a new position.

Countess Bathory straddled the stranger, moving her body relentlessly, her golden hair flying freely in the air.

Tang Qing was utterly dumbfounded. He had never seen such wild and passionate displays before, his face burning red.

“What are you afraid of?”

The man looked at the stunned boy in his embrace and chuckled softly.

Countess Bathory remained unaware of their presence, lost in this reckless passion, floating emotionally in the act, letting out high-pitched moans.

Tang Qing was speechless, unsure how to speak, embarrassed as he looked at the man—his entire face flushed, even his earlobes turned pink.

Didn’t this man feel awkward…?

The man smiled, as if seeing through Tang Qing’s thoughts, and whispered,

“The ones who should be embarrassed are them.”

Holding Tang Qing tightly like he’d found an interesting toy, the man suddenly moved with a speed no human possessed and instantly returned to the main hall, still embracing Tang Qing.

Under the light, the flames in the fireplace behind the throne crackled, casting a warm orange glow that illuminated the entire hall and threw flickering shadows onto the floor. Around the hall stood exquisite candelabras, their flickering candles emitting a soft, hazy light in the dimness.

On the walls on both sides were carvings of the vampire emblem—a majestic bat with outstretched wings—which inspired awe in everyone ascending the steps. The entire throne hall was spacious and grand, yet not lacking in magnificence. Bathed in the firelight and candlelight, it brimmed with an ancient aura, exuding an imperious majesty as if unconsciously looking down on the world.

“Prince Sephiroth, I apologise for not discovering this human’s infiltration in time. I will deal with this human immediately,” a man bowed deeply, the butler of Sephiroth, Liszt.

After speaking, he glanced at Tang Qing, revealing the sharp fangs unique to vampires at the corners of his mouth.

Tang Qing was startled by the butler and could only stare wide-eyed at the man.

Sephiroth waved his hand, signalling the butler not to act.

“Speak, human boy. What are you sneaking around here for?” The man sat at the seat of honour, looking down on Tang Qing from above.

“I…”

Tang Qing couldn’t say he was just passing by and wanted to take a look. He really couldn’t figure out what he was doing in this vampire-filled castle.

“Your Highness, I came to be a male servant.”

He couldn’t blame himself for loving to be a servant; he honestly couldn’t think of any other job he could do.

“A servant? You know you had to climb up here from the part of the castle where the magic is weakest. Don’t tell me this was a coincidence. Could it be you think this is a place for your kind of humans?”

Ever since Tang Qing freed the blood slaves, the girls had spread the word—everyone knew Countess Bathory was a bloodthirsty monster, and no girl would be foolish enough to come here anymore.

Not to mention someone suspicious like Tang Qing.

“I… I do have a purpose coming here…” Tang Qing hesitated.

Sephiroth casually picked up a candle from the table. He lightly flicked a finger at the burning wick; a small cluster of sparks flew off and hovered in the air, forming a bright ball of fire.

Legend has it that although fire does not kill vampires, most vampires fear it.

Yet the fireball in Sephiroth’s hand seemed to possess a life of its own, dancing gracefully in midair, occasionally brushing past Sephiroth’s fingertips without ever burning him.

Gazing at the towering man on the throne, Tang Qing gritted his teeth and said, “I deeply admire Lord Sephiroth. You are like a god, possessing an eternal life beyond ordinary reach. Your throne stands high above us, while we can only look up from the ground, worshipping your brilliance. Your life is eternal, while ours is insignificant. To serve beneath your feet is the greatest wish of my life.”

“So… so, I want to be Lord Sephiroth’s servant.”

The man lowered the candle in his hand.

Tang Qing clenched his fingers tightly, a bit nervous.

He knew that with Sephiroth’s status, he probably got tired of flattery, but feeling anxious, he couldn’t think of any special qualities he had to attract the man.

“Fine, then you shall stay.”

Suddenly, the man teleported right in front of Tang Qing, gently lifted his chin with one hand, and casually said,

“Be my blood slave.”

Blood slave…?

Tang Qing widened his eyes in confusion.

“Be my personal servant, always ready when called, never leaving my sight. When I need blood, you’ll provide it.”

Butler Liszt saw Tang Qing standing there dazed and couldn’t help but speak up: “Prince Sephiroth has countless suitors, but very few have truly earned His Highness’s favour. To stand out from them is a gift from heaven. You must be grateful and serve His Highness wholeheartedly to show your loyalty and reverence.”

Seeing Sephiroth’s number-one obsessive fan butler speak up, Tang Qing reluctantly forced a smile.

“Yes, my lord, it is my honour.”

So, Butler Liszt took Tang Qing to Sephiroth’s living quarters.

This used to be a room occupied by Countess Bathory, but now the entire floor has been opened up and transformed into Sephiroth’s bedchamber.

The walls were decorated with gilded rose-patterned reliefs, shining brilliantly; the floor was covered with thick red carpets, flowing like a sea of blood. At the centre stood a huge four-poster bed, with intricately carved bat motifs on the pillars. The corners of the bed were draped with black lace curtains, hanging like black veils in the four corners—if not for the occasional moonlight shining through the window, this darkness seemed ready to engulf the entire room.

Butler Liszt pointed to every nook and cranny of the spacious room and instructed Tang Qing, “These corners must be cleaned thoroughly. If Lord Sephiroth sees even a speck of dust, he won’t be pleased.”

Tang Qing put on a polite, businesslike smile.

In his heart, he cursed the man’s obsessive cleanliness.

It was already very late, and Tang Qing was still wondering where exactly, as a blood slave, he would be living.

Would it be in the dungeon where the blood slaves were kept? Or the dilapidated maid’s resting room?

Butler Liszt was about to lead Tang Qing away when Sephiroth casually pointed with a wave and said,

“You’ll sleep on the floor.”

    • Oh I’ve fully translated this novel and the GE’ER one. So I’m quite free to take the other 2. The one’s I’m actually not done translating are the two interstellar ones. You can give them a try. I don’t really like too much info novels too so I believe the ones I chose are quite easy to understand.
