Tang Qing still lay on the bed in a daze, feeling strangely feverish all over, with flushed cheeks, a faint headache, and an overall discomfort.
“Umm…”
For some reason, Xie Qingzhi’s presence by his side seemed to have a soothing effect on him.
After Xie Qingzhi left the room, Tang Qing felt even more unwell.
He let out an indistinct murmur.
Xie Qingzhi pushed open the door, his SSS-class Alpha pheromones permeating the air, exuding a cold and brisk cedar scent.
“Your Grace, did you bring something in?” Tang Qing found it strange, it was the first time he had detected a scent like this, reminiscent of the aroma of a wintry cedar.
Tang Qing’s sluggish brain started working, and after some contemplation, he murmured:
“It’s like the scent I smelled in the drawing room.”
“It’s the smell of a 2B pencil…”
A twitch appeared at the corner of Xie Qingzhi’s mouth.
His pheromones carried a distinctly masculine cedar fragrance, consistently ranking as the top choice among little Omegas. It was also the most beloved scent authors liked to give protagonists in various online works, seen as the most endearing pheromone scent.
He had even thought that if one day his spouse could smell his pheromones, would there be some pleasant surprise?
Unexpectedly, he received such feedback.
Had he been spoiling him too much?
“The scent seems stronger, too overwhelming…”
Tang Qing was enveloped in the domineering scent of the 2B pencil, or rather, the cedar fragrance.
With every breath, the scent of cedar filled his senses.
His delicate face was slightly flushed, breathing becoming difficult, gasping for air like a fish out of water.
“Tangtang, do you like this scent?” The SSS-class Alpha sat on the bed, getting closer to his spouse who was experiencing a false heat.
“After smelling it for a while…I think it’s quite pleasant.”
As the man drew nearer, the scent of cedar became even more intense.
“It feels a bit better now. But, my head still hurts a little.”
Tang Qing squinted his eyes, murmuring unconsciously.
The doctor had mentioned that high tier Alphas could soothe a Beta experiencing a false heat through their pheromones.
“Tangtang, is it hurting here?”
As he spoke, the man reached out and gently pressed on the spot on Tang Qing’s head.
The Alpha’s fingers were distinct, long, and powerful, applying just the right amount of pressure.
“Mm, feels good…”
The tremor in Tang Qing’s tone, eyes closed, seemed to indicate he was enjoying it.
The man continued massaging Tang Qing’s head, running his fingers through his hair, feeling the soft and fluffy strands.
The sweet scent of orchids in the room grew stronger, mingling with the cedar scent.
The man noticed something warm and soft under his hand.
“Your Grace… Can you continue?”
As Xie Qingzhi’s movements suddenly paused, Tang Qing, feeling a bit embarrassed, lifted his head, his eyes shining with a silent plea, softly asking, “Can you continue?”
“Your ears are showing.”
The Alpha’s voice was deep and hoarse.
“Huh…?”
Tang Qing, feeling a bit bewildered, reached up to his head.
There were a pair of furry cat ears.
Beautiful and delicate silver cat ears, covered in dense fur.
Perhaps because Maine Coon cats are large breeds, these cat ears were exceptionally big. Placed on Tang Qing’s head, they made his fair face look particularly petite and exquisite.
“Ears… How did my ears pop out?”
Tang Qing touched his head, looking at his Alpha in confusion.
“Perhaps because you’re experiencing a false heat, and your constitution is rather unique.”
The Alpha didn’t retract his hand. Instead, he gently pushed aside his spouse’s delicate hand and caressed the furry cat ears, his touch exceptionally gentle.
“The doctor said you need the pheromones of a high tier Alpha to soothe you.”
The man’s voice was low, melodious, as if holding back something.
“False heat?” Tang Qing was puzzled. “But I’m a Beta, right? How can I have a false heat?”
The man explained, “You might be going through a secondary differentiation, but cases like yours are rare, with few references as examples, and the doctors aren’t sure.”
Tang Qing felt a bit aggrieved. “Why would I undergo a secondary differentiation? I’ve already turned eighteen.”
God knew how happy he had been on his eighteenth birthday, finally free from fear, no longer worried about turning into an Omega.
The man’s large hand rubbed the furry cat ears, comforting him. “Nothing is certain. Maybe you’re just running a fever?”
Tang Qing finally relaxed and nodded. “Yes, just a fever. I’m sure I won’t differentiate anymore.”
He reassured himself.
The man nodded, but his eyes betrayed a sense of deep mystery.
He had a premonition that his spouse would definitely differentiate into a high tier Omega.
And then, he would mark him.
For now, he could only give a temporary mark.
“Tangtang, are you feeling better?” The scent of cedar pheromones in the room had become so dense that it was almost suffocating.
“I still feel uncomfortable. My neck feels hot, and my head hurts.”
Perhaps due to his discomfort, Tang Qing’s tone took on a hint of coquettishness that he himself didn’t notice, as if he were being playful.
Just like throwing a tantrum.
“Your Grace, can you take a look at my neck? It feels painful here…”
Tang Qing turned to the side, exposing his fair neck willingly, offering it like a sacrifice to the Alpha.
“It hurts so much here…”
Xie Qingzhi caught whiffs of the intermittent orchid scent, swirling in the air with Tang Qing’s movements, spreading and lingering.
The initially aloof and proud orchid fragrance grew sweet and cloying.
Bowing down, the Alpha lowered his head.
“What’s wrong…?”
Tang Qing, in a daze, asked. His voice carried a complete and unwavering trust in the man behind him.
Suddenly, Tang Qing felt the hot, soft touch of lips against the back of his neck.
The Alpha’s sharp teeth grazed the elegant neck, gently but firmly puncturing the soft flesh at the back of Tang Qing’s neck, where the Omega gland was located.
“It hurts…” There was disbelief in the Beta’s voice, a trembling at the end.
“Your Grace, what are you doing…?”
Tang Qing’s consciousness suddenly blurred, a flash of light passing through his mind. His once fair face flushed red.
He… seemed to have been bitten by his legitimate husband.
“Don’t bite me… I’m just a Beta…”
Tang Qing, held by the nape of his neck, cheeks crimson, struggled to push away the solid body of the Alpha pressing down on him.
The sensitive furry ears on the Beta’s head twitched, his back covered in a fine sweat from the stimulation. As the teeth broke the skin, he suddenly struggled.
A large furry tail emerged from behind the Beta, spreading out like a beautiful silver dandelion.
“Stop… Ah…”
Tang Qing was tightly embraced by the Alpha behind him, held firmly in a strong embrace, securely confined.
The beautiful large tail was also being fondled by one of the Alpha’s hands, playing with it repeatedly.
Xie Qingzhi didn’t respond to Tang Qing.
He knew that the Omega gland he desired hadn’t yet formed in the Beta’s neck, but he still dominantly infused his pheromones into it.
He wanted his spouse in his arms to be saturated with his scent from head to toe.
He had wanted to do this for a long time.
It all began the moment he saw that youth through the transparent glass of the drawing room on his first day at the Tang residence.
He had made up his mind then. Whether this person was a Beta or an Omega, no matter how many times he had been rejected in marriage.
He was determined to make the youth his spouse.
…
The next day, the Imperial Academy started classes.
“Tangtang, it’s been so long since I last saw you.” Wen Lele exclaimed loudly upon seeing Tang Qing. “Truly the number one beauty in the Empire. In just a few days, you’ve become even more charming? Let me take a closer look and see how you’ve become even more alluring.”
Wen Lele was Tang Qing’s desk mate at the Imperial Academy and one of his few close friends. Although Wen Lele was a bit carefree and sometimes silly, he was a kind-hearted person.
Feeling a bit embarrassed, Tang Qing said, “Lele, keep it down.”
Wen Lele circled around Tang Qing, admiring him, and sighed, “How do you take care of your skin? It’s so delicate, like a peeled egg. I want to kiss you to death. You’re much more beautiful than those Omegas.”
Tang Qing was used to being asked this question and replied casually, “Just regular skincare, washing my face twice a day.”
Wen Lele rolled his eyes. “Can that really maintain your looks? Well, just admit it, you were born beautiful, right?”
Moving closer, Wen Lele whispered, “I heard you got married during the summer break?”
Feeling a bit awkward, Tang Qing nodded.
“Is your husband, the Duke, treating you well?” Wen Lele frowned, a bit worried. “I heard the Duke enjoys tormenting beauties. Has he mistreated you?”
Shaking his head, Tang Qing replied earnestly, “Don’t worry, His Grace is good to me. Those are just rumors. He’s not that kind of person.”
Relieved, Wen Lele finally blurted out what he wanted to say, his voice suddenly rising in excitement, “You two were quite passionate last night, weren’t you?”
Tang Qing’s face turned red, immediately covering Wen Lele’s mouth with his hand, nervously looking around.
Luckily, no one seemed to notice their conversation.
“Keep your voice down, what are you talking about?” Tang Qing sounded quite exasperated.
“You can’t fool me! Look at you, there are teeth marks all over the back of your neck!” Wen Lele tugged at Tang Qing’s collar, mimicking a Sherlock Holmes-like gesture of identifying a culprit. “You think just because you’re wearing a high collar, I wouldn’t see it?”
“My eyes are like a magnifying glass!”
Tang Qing futilely covered his neck and whispered, “Is it that obvious?”
Wen Lele replied, “Yes, very obvious. One tooth mark after another, oh my. How possessive.”
“You’re a Beta, and the Duke is an Alpha… Oh my, is he unsatisfied, triggering your heat with your neck?” Wen Lele teased.
“No, stop making things up.” Tang Qing weakly defended himself.
“Well, I had a fever last night, so the Duke used his pheromones to soothe me.” Tang Qing recalled the events of last night, feeling even more embarrassed, his face flushing.
“Oh, fever and cold?” Wen Lele asked mischievously.
“Yes, I caught a cold and had a fever,” Tang Qing explained seriously.
“You’re jesting. Alpha’s pheromones aren’t cold medicine.” Wen Lele made a surprising statement. “I think you were doing ‘something’ last night!”
