Tang Qing was not a weak young man. With one slap, Lady Luo Xuanling was knocked down to the ground, her hair laying disheveled across her face.
The crowd gasped in astonishment.
What they thought was a simple stepmother-stepson quarrel unexpectedly revealed the truth of a General of the Empire being poisoned.
Although Lady Luo Xuanling’s tearful appearance was pitiful, no one felt any sympathy for her.
After all, everyone present were respected noble wives who had assumed Lady Luo Xuanling would become the future Lady Tang. Instead, they discovered she was a malicious mistress poisoning her stepson.
Which woman would sympathize with a mistress?
Especially one as ruthless as her.
Tang Xiaobai had long been aware of his mother’s actions. At this moment, he had to feign surprise and innocence, fearing that if Lady Luo Xuanling’s deeds were exposed, it would tarnish his own reputation.
Tang Moyang stared in disbelief at Lady Luo Xuanling. This was the first time he truly saw his bed companion. He had always believed Lady Luo Xuanling was a delicate woman in need of protection, just as she portrayed herself.
Feeling guilty for not allowing Lady Luo Xuanling to marry into the Tang family due to his eldest son’s immaturity, he had been increasingly generous towards her. Whenever she coaxed him to buy this or that, he indulged her. He had never bought so much jewelry for his ex-wife, instead, he had purchased several high-end brands that many noble ladies favored for Lady Luo Xuanling.
However, Lady Luo Xuanling’s actions had completely enraged him. Tang Bo was his proudest son. The Tang family’s status mainly stemmed from his two sons born to his ex-wife. One married into the royal family, and the other earned numerous accolades through his achievements.
Since Tang Bo fell into a coma, the Tang family’s status had deteriorated significantly. If it weren’t for Tang Qing’s beauty and his marriage into the royal family, the Tang family would have struggled to maintain their facade of prosperity and may have fallen out of the aristocratic circle.
Moreover, being publicly exposed by his ex-wife’s younger son for Lady Luo Xuanling’s misdeeds was a humiliation that he couldn’t bear.
Therefore, when Lady Luo Xuanling clung to his feet, pleading for mercy, he, in contrast to his usual gentleness, kicked her angrily, scolding her harshly, “You wretched woman!”
“I once considered marrying you, and yet you poisoned my own son! You are a treacherous woman!”
Lady Luo Xuanling had never experienced such rough treatment before and ended up lying on the ground after Tang Moyang kicked her.
Tang Moyang looked at Tang Qing with deep regret and said, “Qingqing, I’m sorry. I never imagined she would be this kind of person…”
Tang Qing coldly observed the scene before him.
He couldn’t forgive Tang Moyang, but due to him being his biological father, he remained silent.
Xie Qingzhi cast a cool glance at Tang Moyang, his eyes unmoved, his tone filled with disdain:
“Tang Moyang, you’ve brought a wolf into the house, allowing this poisonous woman into the Tang residence. She has long been bullying and tormenting the son of your ex-wife with her two illegitimate children, yet you turned a blind eye. After your eldest son fell into a coma, you neglected him, allowing your bed companion to poison him without noticing.”
“You are obsessed with vanity, treating your two sons as mere tools to solidify your status. Your heart is filled with nothing but those empty titles and your own reputation, you are simply unworthy of being a father.”
Tang Moyang’s face shifted from pale to red as he listened to Xie Qingzhi’s blunt words, but due to the vast difference in their status, he dared not speak up in defense.
Tang Qing had been raised by his brother since he was young. His so-called father was always engrossed in socializing with the nobility, indulging in Lady Luo Xuanling’s tender affection, and had never cared for him.
As Tang Qing grew older, Tang Moyang started treating him solely as a tool for political alliances, never once considering his wishes and arranging marriage contracts without his consent.
To top it all off, he now realized that the brother he had grown up with had fallen into a coma for so many years because of a mistress Tang Moyang had found.
If it weren’t for the intervention of Xie Qingzhi, Tang Bo might have been poisoned for even longer, possibly turning into a vegetative state…
Looking at Tang Moyang’s hypocritical face, Tang Qing felt nauseated.
“Tang Moyang, regardless of anything, you are my biological father and have raised me.”
Upon hearing this, Tang Moyang looked at Tang Qing with relief. “Qingqing, I knew you were a sensible child. Among my children, you have always been more mature…”
Tang Qing impatiently interrupted Tang Moyang’s fantasies of fatherly love and filial piety, saying coldly, “I have always been sensible since I was young because I knew I was different from other children.”
“Whether I was bullied by a stepmother or ostracized by illegitimate children, my father would never stand up for me. Even if I excelled in everything I did, even if I always had the best grades, even if I got into the best school, my father would never notice me.”
Tang Moyang looked guiltily at his son and mumbled, “Qingqing… I’m sorry, Daddy didn’t know you cared about these things. Daddy won’t do this again in the future…”
Tang Qing’s tone gradually calmed down, speaking calmly, “I don’t care about these things anymore. Because I don’t value you at all.”
“Tang Moyang, let’s sever our father-son relationship.”
After saying this, Tang Qing linked arms with Xie Qingzhi, feeling the security the man provided him, his amber eyes filled with determination.
Under the astonished and admiring gazes of the onlookers, the two left the Tang residence.
Tang Moyang watched Tang Qing’s departing figure with a sense of defeat.
He suddenly realized that the trusting and reliant smile Tang Qing had shown him in his childhood had become fewer and eventually disappeared after Lady Luo Xuanling and her illegitimate children entered the picture. All that remained were moments of disappointment and indifference.
His throat tightened, his eyes burning, but he knew that everything was beyond repair.
His two most outstanding sons would never return.
…
The wind gently brushed through the night sky, carrying a hint of chill. Occasionally, the night breeze rustled the leaves along the street, adding a touch of vitality to the quiet night.
Reflecting on the events of the day, Tang Qing gratefully looked at Xie Qingzhi and said, “Sir, thank you for accompanying me to the Tang residence today. I was able to bravely expose that woman Luo Xuanling and sever ties with that scum Tang Moyang.”
Xie Qingzhi, looking at Tang Qing’s bright and determined gaze, couldn’t help but admit that he was somewhat surprised.
Today, Tang Qing was stronger and braver than he had imagined, more resolute.
He thought Tang Qing might feel a bit upset about his father because of this incident, but to his surprise, Tang Qing directly severed ties with Tang Moyang in front of so many people.
Having his own grievances against his father, he understood better than anyone else how much inner struggle it took for someone to acknowledge their deep disappointment in their biological father and cut ties without hesitation.
With a hint of admiration in his tone, Xie Qingzhi said, “Tangtang, you did great today, very brave.”
Sensing the praise in Xie Qingzhi’s words, Tang Qing couldn’t help but smile, a hint of pride shining in his amber eyes, showing a bit of charm and cuteness. “That’s because I have you by my side, giving me courage.”
“I feel like my luck has improved since I married you.”
Tang Qing spoke sincerely.
Initially anxious about marrying into the Duke’s household, he discovered that aside from the Duke’s peculiar liking for him, he was treated well in all other aspects.
Back in the Tang residence, anything he wanted would end up in the hands of Tang Xiaobai and Tang Shanshan, often leading to slander and sabotage.
After marrying the Duke, he had support everywhere, and even his brother had woken up.
That’s why he dared to decisively break away from the Tang family, all because the Duke gave him confidence.
Tang Qing smiled and said, “Sir, it’s because you gave me confidence.”
“What’s wrong with that? You are my cherished possession. Keeping you happy makes me pleased as well.”
Upon Xie Qingzhi’s reminder, Tang Qing remembered his other identity.
So he lifted his head, revealing his fair and delicate neck, skin as white as fine porcelain, and somewhat embarrassedly murmured, “Sir, you haven’t petted me these past few days.”
Xie Qingzhi, observing his wife offering up his beautiful neck, felt a bit awkward.
Who else would willingly be treated as a cat to be petted?
Oh, he understood now.
Because Tang Qing was also a cat.
He wanted to be petted by him.
Unable to control his tone, Xie Qingzhi loftily commanded, “Show me your cat ears.”
“Huh…?”
Tang Qing widened his eyes slightly, opening his mouth in disbelief.
Revealing cat ears felt a little, well, awkward…
“What’s wrong? Can’t do it? You just said you were grateful to me.” Xie Qingzhi’s voice was cold.
“Uh… it’s not that I can’t…” Tang Qing said, then bashfully lowered his head.
Two furry cat ears shyly popped out from his hairline.
They were a beautiful pair of silver cat ears, slightly tilted forward due to the owner’s nervousness, looking like elf ears—cute, lively, and harmless, just like a furry accessory.
The silver short fur extended from the edge of the ear, soft strands resting gently on top, the ear tips slightly tinged with a light gray, appearing even more adorable against the backdrop of the silver fur.
Xie Qingzhi calmly reached out his hand, touching his favorite cat ears.
He caressed the furry ears with one hand, lowering his head, leaning down, and gently bit on that beautiful neck.
His sharp teeth lightly grazed the spot behind the neck where the gland was, but didn’t pierce it.
Instead, he affectionately nibbled.
For now, this would do.
His wife had just turned eighteen.
Once his little wife truly transformed, he would fill his pheromones into his Omega matured glands.

Are you ok? The update came by a bit late. Also our baby tang tang’s father is so hypocritical, also I feel like this arc is the most like a romance story, slow burn and the ml is a lot more I dont know maybe like has this not forcing vibe rather than the other arcs. Anyways I like it. Thanks for the chapter ChuRen jiejie.
Huh did it? I’m totally fine~ I’ve scheduled chapters until July so its not like the updates would be interrupted if something happened to me… I’ll check on the schedule and timing.
