Footsteps approached, then moved away.
Tang Qing heard someone passing by from outside the door but didn’t discover this particular door.
He breathed a sigh of relief.
“What’s going on? There are only a few laboratories here. How is it possible that we still can’t find a single person?”
“Look more carefully. Tan Yifan said he was sure someone was in here before he locked the door.”
The group checked each lab again, and Tan Yifan’s companion exclaimed excitedly, “Look, there’s a door here that no one noticed before.”
They crowded around to take a look and, getting excited, exchanged glances before opening the door.
Inside the lab, it was a bit chilly, with many refrigerators containing specimens preserved in formalin.
Tang Qing’s heart raced, his lower lip bearing teeth marks, holding his breath and not making a sound.
“What the heck is in these bottles?” one person pointed to a container, marveling at it.
His companion interrupted, “Forget about that. I have a feeling that person is definitely hiding in this lab.”
They left the containers and began searching again.
“Look behind these cabinets, people can hide there too.”
The companion started inspecting around the cabinets.
“What’s behind this cabinet? Hehehe, pretty boy, here I come.” Seeing a slender figure behind the curtain, the person revealed a creepy smile.
“Hey, Fatty, did you find him?” Another person turned at the comment.
Behind a tall row of cabinets, there was a long curtain hanging. Through the curtain, a faint figure could be seen.
The group immediately approached, rubbing their hands with an evil grin, and reached out their hands.
They pulled back the curtain.
Inside was a mannequin, a teaching tool used by the teachers.
“F*ck!”
“This lab has so many strange things.”
The group was losing patience from all the searching.
“Be patient and keep looking. There’s not much space here, how could a person disappear like that?”
They mustered their patience and continued searching. As they passed by a black box, someone squatted down to take a look.
It was too small; the box definitely couldn’t fit an adult.
One person impatiently kicked the frame, but it was so hard that it hurt his foot instead.
“Darn it, this box is harder than iron, it hurts so much.”
“Could the beauty have jumped out of the window? We can’t find them anywhere.”
A companion felt there was some sense in that and walked to the window to take a look. “Could something serious have happened? How can’t we find a trace of this person?”
At that moment, the door of the lab was opened from the outside, and a tall young man walked in.
The group all stopped their actions simultaneously and looked back to see a stranger.
Another one?
“Hey buddy, did Tan Yifan send you here?”
“You’ve come for nothing. We can’t find this beauty anywhere, maybe they jumped out the window.”
Lu Bei’s face remained expressionless, but his eyes gleamed darkly.
The men suddenly felt a chill run down their spines.
“Could it be that you’ve come to the wrong place?”
The lab was dimly lit, and they couldn’t see the newcomer’s expression clearly, but they felt an eerie chill and an abnormal sense of terror.
Seeing the unfamiliar young man standing there in silence, the group grew even more frightened, feeling a shiver down their spines.
Exchanging glances, they moved forward to handle the situation.
Lu Bei grabbed one person by the collar, grabbed a large bottle nearby, and smashed it on the person’s head.
A loud bang rang out, sounding like the arrival of death.
Blood gushed from the person’s head.
The remaining few people in the room turned pale.
Although they weren’t very familiar with each other, they often played like this, relying on their numbers and never failing.
Tonight’s bloody scene was a first for them.
Lu Bei threw the person in his hand to the ground and kicked another person in the abdomen, causing them to fall to the ground.
The remaining two people locked eyes, realizing that this young man was ruthless and didn’t hold back. They rushed in from both sides, trying to subdue him together.
Both of these individuals were adults with great strength, yet even working together, they couldn’t overpower this tall and burly young man.
Both of them were in disbelief.
Lu Bei exuded a menacing aura, his eyes filled with a deep red color, brimming with hostility.
The laboratory wasn’t lit, so no one noticed the strange gleam in the boy’s eyes.
Grabbing one person in each hand, he opened the laboratory door and, as if tossing out trash, threw them directly from the second floor to the ground below.
With a loud bang, the individuals fell to the ground, their fates uncertain.
Lu Bei knew he was losing control, unable to contain the violence within him.
But he couldn’t care less at that moment.
“Tang Qing!”
The mere thought of those people planning something against Tang Qing made him wish he could tear them apart.
But what about Tang Qing?
Remembering what he had just heard, his face turned pale, and he rushed back to the laboratory.
He stared at the wide-open window next to the lab, his heart stopping.
“Meow~!”
A small black box on the ground opened up, revealing a black and white cat. With its round head, it pushed open the door and emerged from the box.
The cat had a black back and head, with a white belly covered in soft fur. Its tail was long and fluffy, resembling a black mink, with a ring of snow-white fur at the tip.
As soon as it struck midnight, Tang Qing transformed into a cat.
After leaving the cabinet, Tang Qing turned his back, crouching inside the box, with the tip of his tail tucked between his legs. Only his black back and head were visible, blending seamlessly into the darkness.
No wonder no one noticed, despite their search efforts. Hidden in the box on the ground was a black and white tuxedo cat.
Lu Bei reached out, and the large cat on the ground leapt into his arms, letting him embrace him tightly.
“Tangtang, how are you so clever?”
“You almost scared me to death, you know that?”
Lu Bei remembered when Tang Qing couldn’t control his cat instincts as a child. He used to love hiding like this, mimicking the behavior of a cat. At night, with the lights off, this mischievous black and white cat would completely disappear inside various small boxes at home, just like a game of hide and seek.
“Meow~”
The cat nestled in the boy’s arms, rubbing its furry head against the young man’s neck. Its tail, with a hint of white, swished and wrapped around the boy’s fingers.
Feeling the warm and soft furry bundle in his arms, Lu Bei’s heart, filled with murderous intent just moments ago, instantly softened.
“Tangtang, baby, my little soft candy.”
Lu Bei picked up the clothes that Tang Qing had hidden in the box and tightly tucked the cat into his arms before leaving the laboratory.
Back at home, Lu Bei carefully cleaned the cat.
The cat and the boy slept closely together.
Lu Bei placed the cat on his chest, closest to his heart.
“Tangtang, don’t be afraid, everything’s fine.”
Lu Bei gently stroked the cat’s entire body, murmuring comforting words repeatedly.
“Don’t be afraid, Tangtang…”
Tightly cradled in Lu Bei’s arms, feeling the young man’s warm chest, hearing his murmured words and the intense sound of his heartbeat.
Thump, thump, thump…
Tang Qing knew,
Tonight, the one most scared and anxious wasn’t himself,
The one who was terrified was Lu Bei.
In the evening, Lu Bei was studying in the library and, as usual, planned to go to the lab to meet his Tangtang around 11:30 PM.
However, he got delayed on the way. A person named Tan Yifan blocked him on the road, wanting to apologize and even squatting down to touch him, causing a confusing and uncomfortable situation.
Impatiently pushing the boy away, Lu Bei continued towards the lab without looking back. It was only halfway there when he received Tang Qing’s distress message.
Knowing that the lab’s material blocked signals severely, Lu Bei realized that by the time Tang Qing’s distress message reached him, a significant amount of time had passed.
He ran to the lab at an unprecedented speed, fearing that a second’s delay might mean witnessing harm come to his Tangtang.
Upon arriving and hearing from the others that Tang Qing might have jumped out the window, Lu Bei’s chest filled with uncontrollable anger. In an instant, his vision turned dark and blue, as if the world before him was about to collapse.
If Tang Qing had truly been harmed, he would have destroyed everyone there.
Everyone.
Although he was just an ordinary university student, in that moment, he knew he had the power to do so.
The ability to make a world that dared to harm Tang Qing no longer exist.
In the pitch-black night, a string of numbers flashed before his eyes.
He blinked a few times before they disappeared.
[Zi zi zi…]System 99 suddenly realized that its system was under attack again…
Tang Qing, nestled in the young man’s arms, felt his heartbeat like a drum, growing louder and louder, constantly echoing in his ears. He knew that the young man, who only had eyes for him, was deeply frightened today.
The cat peeked its head out, gently nuzzling Lu Bei’s neck, then carefully licking the boy with its tongue.
“Meow.”
The cat was no longer afraid, and neither should you be.
…
“Did you hear? Yesterday, Lu Bei made a big scene with his family’s elders.” As they entered the classroom, Zhang Chiheng leaned over to gossip.
“I don’t know how those people offended him, but when the young master of the Lu family took action, they all ended up in jail, and…” Zhang Chiheng lowered his voice, a mischievous glint in his eyes, “I heard that not only were they beaten beyond recognition, but they were also severely punished.”
Tang Qing was taken aback.
Although Lu Bei’s family connections were strong, he had never used his elders’ power before. This led most students to believe that the school grass was just a handsome guy from a well-off family.
Lu Bei’s appearance was exceptional, and his focus seemed to be solely on Tang Qing. Sometimes it was easy to overlook the fact that his demeanour exuded a certain quality that couldn’t be cultivated in an ordinary household.
If he wanted to, he could easily deal with those scoundrels without resorting to legal means.
“Also, that Tan Yifan, the guy who had a scuffle with you yesterday, somehow got on the wrong side of Bei-ge.” Zhang Chiheng shivered at the thought, “He was an art student, and his precious hands were directly…handled by Bei-ge…”
Zhang Chiheng concluded with a thumbs up:
“In short, our Bei-ge is ruthless. He may seem carefree and smiling every day, but once you cross him, you’re as good as gone.”

Ruthless! Tang Bo really is nowhere to be seen whenever Tang Tang is in trouble. He should be ashamed to be called his brother
Its all part of the plot… Big brother can’t be there to protect him forever.
I dont understand the thoughts of that other guy how does attacking baby tangtang change lu bei’s view on baby tangling he would be even angrier and mad I think that guy’s brain is defect like he has bad obsession with these things no matter how handsome or beautiful a person is they are only to look at if they are taken. Thanks for the update ChuRen jiejie.
I’m pretty sure its like thinking “If the other person is dead, then no one will be seducing him anymore. He will fall for me instead” Something like that.
Thanks for reading~
