These days, Tang Qing is increasingly unable to understand what this Lord Xuan is thinking.
Every day, he forces him to wear all sorts of fancy dresses. Everything from lace sundresses to even nurse uniforms, teacher uniforms, and sailor uniforms are considered normal.
Is Lord Xuan mentally okay? In this day and age where everyone is so busy, don’t you feel embarrassed customizing these cat costumes? Even Yuan Longping1The father of hybrid rice. So basically he’s saying it’s a waste of rice to feed him regrets feeding you too much.
He’s no longer Tang Tang, he’s now Miracle Tang Tang2lmao he’s in a magical girl costume now.
Also, every time he goes to the litter box, he turns around solemnly towards Lord Xuan, with a look that says “don’t look unless necessary.”
I wonder if this person was in pain or just acting dumb that day.
…
On this day, Lord Xuan, accompanied by Chen Ji, and all the level two ability users from Xuanming City, dozens of people, set off towards the Devil’s Deep Forest.
Tang Qing was still wondering how they were going to make the long journey, even though driving on mountain roads would be convenient.
But when he saw Lord Xuan and their means of transportation, his whole cat eyes widened.
It turned out to be a large lion, mutated, even bigger than an ordinary lion.
It was a majestic African male lion, with a big and dense brown mane encircling its head, the long mane extending all the way to its shoulders and chest, looking very grand. As the king of beasts, the lion’s fur was shiny, gleaming with a golden light, exuding a majestic aura.
Tang Qing felt like one swipe of its paw could send him flying far away.
Gu Mijing patted the lion and introduced, “Tang Tang, this is Ryan, it will be taking us to the Devil’s Deep Forest in the next few days.”
Ryan turned its head, its fluffy face facing Tang Qing, letting out a roar that shook the mountains.
Tang Qing was so scared that his pupils dilated, he curled up, flattening his pointed white ears, his whole body fur standing on end, his tail raised high, the whole cat burrowing into Gu Mijing’s arms, letting out a meowing sound.
Gu Mijing was pleased by the cat’s complete reliance on him, soothing the cat with his porcelain-white hands, explaining with a smile, “Don’t be afraid, little princess, just think of Ryan as a big cat. It’s very well-behaved.”
Tang Qing was so scared he didn’t notice how Gu Mijing addressed him, just focusing on shrinking into the man’s embrace.
Ryan had evolved intelligence and could communicate. And level four ability users like Gu Mijing could completely tame it.
Gu Mijing ordered, “Ryan, no roaring, you scared Tang Tang.”
Ryan looked at the pretty cat curled up in the man’s arms, its fluffy white fur forming a ball. It blinked its dull, round golden eyes in confusion, seemingly having no idea how to interact with this small and lovely friend.
The man commanded again, “Ryan, meow.”
Ryan glanced at the man, then lowered its head. Its two thick, large paws rubbed against each other, as if pretending not to understand.
With a deep voice full of the authority of a level four ability user, the man said, “Ryan.”
Ryan wrinkled its furry face, slowly opened its large mouth, and in a low, flat voice said, “Meow.”
Ah, Tang Qing couldn’t help but be amused.
The cat in his arms stuck out its white head, its round and plump eyes mustered up the courage to look over.
Ryan gazed at these watery heterochromatic eyes, more beautiful than any color it had seen in the deep forest, and couldn’t help but lower its voice in embarrassment, “Meow, meow.”
Tang Qing was amused and also let out a sweet and soft cat sound, “Meow~~”
Ryan found this new friend, although very small, had a pleasant voice. It couldn’t help but lean its big head over and gently press against the soft forehead of the cat.
Tang Qing felt the warm breath of the big lion gently blowing on his face, and it didn’t seem as scary as he had imagined.
It turns out, it was just a big cat.
The relationship between the cat and the lion hadn’t been cultivated yet. Gu Mijing coldly reached out and impatiently pushed away Ryan’s fluffy face, “Enough, don’t mess up my treasure.”
After that, ignoring Ryan’s disgruntled expression, Gu Mijing, along with Tang Qing, sat on Ryan’s back.
Curiously, Tang Qing reached out his paw and scratched Ryan’s back.
Perhaps due to the evolution of its abilities, Ryan’s back fur was very stiff, golden in color, and very strong.
He played with Ryan’s fur for a while, then climbed onto Ryan’s head and tugged on Ryan’s two ears. Its ears were very short, a standard semi-circle shape, fluffy, and surprisingly soft to the touch, somewhat similar to a cat’s ears.
Tang Qing gripped Ryan’s head with one hand and pulled on its round ears with the other, thoroughly enjoying himself.
Just as he was about to playfully bite Ryan’s ear, the silver-haired man finally picked him up and held him in his arms again, running his hand through his fur, “Tang Tang, stop playing, dirty, there are fleas.”
Ryan: …Although I can’t speak, I can understand.
The cute little creature on its head finally calmed down, and Ryan slowed down its pace, trying hard not to jostle the passenger on its back.
Of course, there were only a few people with mounts; most of the group still had to carry their large and small bags.
Shen Miao, watching from behind, couldn’t help but feel envious as she looked at the silver-haired man and the little cat on the big lion. She said to Qi Jingsheng, “I didn’t expect that after Jiaojiao followed the Lord, life would be much better now. I feel like I’m not worthy of it anymore.”
Qi Jingsheng comforted her, “In the apocalypse, no one has it easy. It’s good that Jiaojiao has found a good home.”
Shen Miao nodded and looked ahead, “Jiaojiao seems to have become even more beautiful, more like a fairy.”
She thought of their plan for this trip. If it really succeeded… if the Lord couldn’t take care of Jiaojiao in the future, she would bring Jiaojiao back.
Three days later, the group finally approached the Devil’s Deep Forest.
“Wow, what is this?” Chen Ji randomly grabbed at something, catching a Seven-Star Ladybug the size of an egg on his face, not knowing when it had dropped onto him.
“Disgusting!” Chen Ji quickly flicked the bug away, but Ryan lowered its head and directly ate the bug.
Chen Ji widened his eyes, “Ryan, don’t eat random things.”
Ryan paused, holding the bug in its mouth, unsure whether to eat it or not, looking eagerly at Gu Mijing.
Gu Mijing’s mouth twitched, “Eat it, it won’t poison you.”
Only then did Ryan swallow the bug, licking its lips satisfyingly.
Tang Qing moved away in disgust, distancing himself from Ryan.
Gu Mijing also chuckled and patted the cat’s head gently, saying, “Tang Tang, don’t eat bugs randomly.”
Tang Qing thought to himself, are you kidding me? I wouldn’t eat them even if you begged me.
At this time, a slight vibration came from the ground, clearly indicating that a considerable number of animals were approaching them aggressively.
“Sir, there’s a group of cheetahs up ahead planning to attack us,” reported the scout ahead.
“Everyone, get ready.” With the command of Lord Xuan, everyone entered a state of readiness.
A group of mutated leopards approached them, estimated to be around two hundred. These leopards hadn’t evolved to be exceptionally large, but they were fast. They were hungry and thirsty, eyeing this group of unfamiliar humans. Their yellow-green eyes glowed in the darkness like light bulbs, sending shivers down everyone’s spines.
The strict voice of the Lord commanded, “Cover your ears.” Everyone followed suit.
Tang Qing lifted his head in confusion as the Lord’s slender hands pressed on the soft, pointed white ears of the cat.
‘Ryan.’ With the man’s order, Ryan took a deep breath, opened his huge mouth, and let out a deafening lion’s roar that pierced through the sky, echoing far and wide. The roar startled the birds that were secretly observing from the trees, causing them to fly away in flocks.
For a moment, the deep forest was filled with noise, the echoes of the lion’s roar relentless.
Those around Ryan tightly covered their ears, the roar causing their eardrums to ache and their hearts to tremble violently. The roar had reached a level of sonic attack that most people couldn’t endure.
The only ones unaffected were Gu Mijing and Tang Qing. Gu Mijing had used his abilities to create a vacuum barrier around them3this is actually the author’s note: “basic physics knowledge, sound cannot travel in a vacuum”.
The leopards, clearly startled, scattered in all directions, trampling over each other like headless flies, their combat effectiveness instantly reduced.
“Earth, wood, and wind ability users, clear the way.” To avoid destroying the forest blocking their path, the Lord had water and fire ability users hold back while others went ahead to clear the path.
It was like the Eight Immortals crossing the sea4indicates the situation that everybody shows off their skills and expertise to achieve a common goal., each displaying their prowess. Traces on the ground formed a large pit burying the leopards, wind ability users conjured small tornadoes to trip the oncoming leopards, and wood ability users caused grass to entangle the leopards’ limbs.
Perhaps due to Ryan’s earlier roar, many insects fell from the trees, burrowing into his thick fur, trying to suck his blood.
Tang Qing crawled over Ryan, picking off the bugs crawling on him. Snap, another invincible cat claw swatted away another bug.
Taking advantage of the leopards’ slowed counterattack, Gu Mijing’s eyes flashed coldly as he activated his abilities, stopping struggling leopards in their tracks with a wave of his hand, turning them into black ashes.
The group of leopards was overwhelmed, their numbers decreasing rapidly, leaving only dozens, visibly frightened. After a few more roars from Ryan, they scattered in a panic.
“Meow!” Tang Qing noticed one fleeing leopard running into the Ziyi in a blind panic.
Upon hearing this, Gu Mijing quickly intervened, sending the leopard flying through the air.
Tang Qing went to check and, although she had managed to dodge in time, Ziyi’s right hand was covered in blood.
After the Lu Shang was sent away, it was the Ziyi who took care of Tang Qing. This girl was attentive and considerate, with gentle movements, taking good care of Tang Qing. Tang Qing, feeling sorry, leaned his head against Ziyi’s injured hand and nuzzled it a few times.
Ziyi smiled bravely, pulling up the corners of her mouth. “Master Cat, I’m fine.”
Tang Qing licked his wound. He couldn’t help but notice that Ziyi’s wound was visibly healing at a rapid pace.
Gu Mijing also noticed the situation, looking thoughtfully at Tang Qing with a hint of displeasure in his eyes.
He took the cat in his arms, his voice cold and clear. “Do I need to teach you what not to say?”
Ziyi immediately knelt down respectfully. “I understand, My Lord.”
Seeing the man on guard as if facing a great enemy, Tang Qing was a bit puzzled. Had he awakened his abilities?
