In the original novel, Xu Yunchun and Wei Xiu are both university students. Xu Yunchun’s in his first year and Wei Xiu’s in his third. Xu Yunchun reincarnated right in the middle of summer break, and then Wei Xiu finally left his “temporary confinement” right in time for the start of the new semester.
Without fail, if Xu Yunchun has no classes to attend, he will go to Wei Xiu’s classroom. On the outside, Wei Xiu seems to look down on Xu Yunchun, but deep down, he feels great pride at the idea that someone would be so infatuated with him.
Of course, little did he know that, if it weren’t for the fear of his young master’s purity being tainted, Xu Yunchun wouldn’t be casting him so much as a glance.
The young beta has a lot on his plate, not only is he concerned about his young master’s innocence, but he’s also making arrangements to receive his young master. He’s attending all of his classes and studying hard, there’s not even one moment for him to rest.
Of course, Xu Yunchun isn’t spending all this time on his studies because he’s particularly ambitious, it’s simply because his young master values his education. The fact that Xu Yunchun is literate and educated today is all because his young master taught him himself. If the young master were to reincarnate and discover that he was failing, he would surely be very angry.
One thing worth celebrating is that “Wei Xiu” is a straight-A student so there’s no questioning the state of his grades. He is also interning at his family’s company with the expectation of eventually inheriting it.
Although, in the novel, Wei Xiu spends all his time planning to enjoy some bedroom activities, or already in the midst of enjoying them, in reality, he has to juggle an internship and his classes all at once which isn’t an easy task. Because of this, Fake Wei Xiu is very busy and thus, much more well behaved than before.

Xu Yunchun thought that all was good; he just needed to wait for the young master’s arrival, then he would serve him as he did before while living a simple yet fulfilling life as a beta for the rest of his days. But, in not even a week’s time, he once again realizes he had been too naive.
Simple life as a beta? It’s no doubt that betas were the most miserable of the three genders?
Monday: In the 3-person group project, the alpha goes into a rut, Xu Yunchun and the omega get started with the work.
Wednesday: The alpha’s back, but this time the omega goes into heat, Xu Yunchun and the alpha continue the work.
Thursday: The alpha pays the omega a visit, but is affected by their pheromones and is launched into another rut. Both parties are rife with heat and desire.
And so, all the work is left for Xu Yunchun to complete. Another Monday comes, and both parties have yet to leave the bedroom. On Wednesday, they finally leave the bedroom, but have to rest for a few days to recuperate from the previous days of physical activity.
Thus, when they finally appear on campus hand in hand, Xu Yunchun has already completed the report and presentation all by himself.
Xu Yunchun: I hate group projects.
Having experienced his fair share of such obscene disrespect, Xu Yunchun feels quite dejected, a rarity for him.
He feels both dejected and just plain upset. When will the young master finally arrive? If the young master would have arrived, he could have just…just had him complete the project in his place.

Finally, after several times of having to complete group projects or do the group presentations on his own — the alpha in charge of the report was suddenly enticed into a barbaric fit by omega pheromones and rendered immobile forcing Xu Yunchun to reluctantly take the stage — Xu Yunchun finally decided to resolve the issue.
“Is the AC broken? I’m feeling a bit hot,” an omega classmate says before class.
An alpha classmate sitting nearby teases: “Could it be that your heat’s coming early?”
“Shut up! Even though my heat isn’t regular, it definitely isn’t coming today!” the omega sounds certain, but still subtly checks his bag. Realizing he hadn’t brought his inhibitors, he feels a chill down his spine, then immediately assures himself: it’s fine, I just need to take inhibitors when I get home and everything will be fine.
Five minutes pass.
The omega’s sweating. Seems like it’s getting hotter.
The alpha unbuttons his shirt. Strange, even he’s getting hotter.
The two eyes met, suddenly realizing how good the person in front of them looks…
“Here, have an iced americano.”
Xu Yunchun squeezes two cups of iced coffee between them blocking their view of each other. Under Xu Yunchun’s insistence, the two drink the ice filled americanos. The cool caffeinated drink puts their bodies at ease making the heat that had been there completely disappear. Newly composed, the two look at each other again and feel absolutely nothing.
The omega says: “Where did you buy this coffee? The taste is…different.“
Xu Yunchun: “I brewed it myself.”
To reduce the frequency of classmates missing class, Xu Yunchun now spent every morning brewing coffee. He would add a measured amount of calming and focus-inducing agents to the coffee, as well as high amounts of pheromone inhibitors. As soon as any classmate starts uttering any type of nonsense, he delivers his special made iced americano right to their lips.
The calming effect of his iced coffee made it very popular among his classmates. Consequently, whatever class Xu Yunchun was a part of, the attendance rate would become inexplicably high. It reached the point that even professors couldn’t puzzle together what was going on, they thought their lectures may have had some sort of pacifying effect on students.
