Chapter 58 – Finale

While the two were spending a long strenuous week together, the outside world turned upside down.

The picture Xu Yunchun uploaded to the internet made its rounds. Kidnapping, capturing, drugging…everyone quickly becomes extremely familiar with Ji Chen’s atrocious actions and behaviour.

While this was happening, Ji Chen, who had injected himself with inhibitors and was laying together with the group of shadow agents, ended up experiencing the classic plotline of ‘use, abuse and humiliation’.

Ji Chen wanted to make himself look good by reporting the incident first, but he’s the one who injected the drugs, he’s the one who went looking for Xu Yunchun, and the young attendant;s kidnapping had happened right under a security camera. The chastity collar had also recorded his villainous monologues. He has no leg to stand on, the evidence is irrefutable.

The Ji Family goes to see Mrs. Wei to have her plead Ji Chen’s case and help reconcile the matter.

Mrs. Wei: “Wei Xiu, forgive Ji Chen, won’t you? He’s been spoiled and pampered since young, brought up as the apple of the eye of his family, it’s normal for him to act out of line sometimes. If he goes to jail, he won’t make it.”

Wei Xiu calmly states: “Xu Yunchun was also brought up as the apple of my eye, and spoiled and pampered since young.”

Mrs. Wei: “Must you go to such lengths?”

Wei Xiu: “If Xu Yunchun suffers, of course, I will seek justice.”

Mrs. Wei: “Fine, you pushed me to this.”

Mrs. Wei’s trump card is the ultimate technique of the villain parent in toxic romance novels: cut off the finances of the infatuated asshole top! Lock the asshole top in the house to prevent him from fulfilling his redemption arc.

Xu Yunchun: “That’s true. From now on, focus on your studies, young master. I’ll take care of providing food.”

Wei Xiu: “I’m the one who gives you your allowance, where are you gonna get food from?”

Xu Yunchun: “Where are you getting the money from? Is it enough?”

Wei Xiu: “It’s my responsibility as a young master to raise my young attendant. There’s no need for you to worry.”

Where exactly is Wei Xiu getting the money from?

It’s this mystery that renders Mrs. Wei quite confused. She cut the funds from Wei Xiu’s card, yet Wei Xiu is absolutely unfazed. Upon looking into it, it turns out that Wei Xiu started his own company long ago, and it showed promise, so he hasn’t been using his family money for over half a year now.

Even worse is the fact that Wei Xiu’s family company had never truly fired him. Wei Xiu has a great work ethic, it had been like a totally new person started working at the company, the work he does is exceptional. Although it was an ‘internship’,  Wei Xiu had already earned his place long ago.

His week-long disappearance had been enough to let the company realize his importance. If they truly fired him, where would they find someone as competent to take up the workload?

She had completely shot herself in the foot.

In the end, Ji Chen is arrested. But, fearing that he would have a hard time, the Ji family finds a way to get an attestation of mental sickness, and have him put into a mental institution.

Wei Xiu is highly unsatisfied upon finding this out: “Why did they let him off so easily?”

Xu Yunchun clarifies: “Ha! That’s the real punishment.”

Wei Xiu: “?”

Xu Yunchun: “This is the Haitang world, prison is paradise, abstinence is the true punishment.”

Xu Yunchun is right.

When Ji Chen was caught, he was partly rejecting it, and partly anticipating it. After all, as a natural born Haitang world omega, he got a taste of heaven from the shadow agents, and heard that compared to what he experienced with them, prison is the main attraction, filled with all kinds of fierce alphas. Deep down, he was filled with excitement.

However, within a blink, he is sent into a mental institution, an omega-only mental hospital. This place contains only omegas, no alphas, and not even one beta.

He’s craving to the point of anxiety, a suffering worse than prison.

After the news got out, Shenxi is anxious to get in contact with Xu Yunchun, but he doesn’t see him around anywhere.

Once the two meet again, Xu Yunchun has already become osmanthus oolong scented.

Shen Xi feels conflicted, but he simply ends up saying: “Fine. Congrats to you both, you’ll definitely be happy together.”

Remembering that Shen Xi was originally supposed to end up with the main character top “Wei Xiu”  and how that all that fell through, Xu Yunchun can’t help feeling a bit of pity for him.

“Shen Xi.” Xu Yunchun’s expression is serious, “I want to tell you…”

Shen Xi: “?”

Xu Yunchun: “Your stamina needs to be really good to be a top, I’ll give you some medicine. Boil some of it everyday to drink and you’ll definitely become a fearsome top.”

Shen Xi: “…”

Xu Yunchun: “My young master has been drinking my medicine since he was young, and naturally became a fearsome top. Really, it’s true, I tried.”

Shen Xi: “Ok…thank you.”

 Wei Xiu chooses an auspicious day to register his marriage with Xu Yunchun.

Then, a few days before the date, the young attendant notices that Wei Xiu is back to his prudish ways, his clothes covering every inch.

Xu Yunchun is stunned: “Are you still protecting your innocence, young master?”

Wei Xiu: “We haven’t married yet, of course, I must show discipline. Last time we had no choice, now we should do things properly.”

…How could the young master be this conservative?

“So, what if I flirt with you a bit?” After saying this, Xu Yunchun rolls into Wei Xiu’s embrace. To his surprise Wei Xiu gives him a push which rolls him back to his original position.

Xu Yunchun has never felt this embarrassed.

He grits his teeth, old and new grievances all bubbling up at once.

Before, the young master had given up his prudishness and was enticing him on purpose, now he suddenly wants to act gentlemanly?

Fine, just you wait.

Xu Yunchun starts to retaliate against Wei Xiu. He decides to hit him with his own medicine and use the ultimate seduction tactic.

“Ah.” Xu Yunchun splashes water onto his body, “My clothes are all wet.”

Xu Yunchun removes his clothes. Wei Xiu says nothing, but there’s a tremor in his pheromones.

After a full marking, they can detect even the slightest shift in each other’s pheromones.

Xu Yunchun snickers. Heh, that’s all it takes.

“Which clothes should I wear?” Xu Yunchun walks towards Wei Xiu, bare-chest, “Help me choose clothes, young master.”

“Choose them yourself.” Wei Xiu keeps his gaze steady.

“Nevermind. I’m gonna take a shower.” Xu Yunchun walks into the bathroom.

Halfway through Xu Yunchun’s shower, he lets out a wail.

Alarmed, Wei Xiu rushes over: “What is it?”

“Soap got into my eyes.” Xu Yunchun’s head is covered in bubbles, he continues to wail with his eyes closed, “Help me wash it out, young master!”

Wei Xiu: “Wash it out yourself”

Xu Yunchun: “My eyes hurt! I need your help, young master!”

Xu Yunchun needing his help is the hardest thing for Wei Xiu to resist, so all he could do is let out a deep sigh, and help Xu Yunchun wash his hair.

On the outside, Xu Yunchun looks unfazed, but on the inside, he’s ecstatic.

A few minutes later, he slips and falls right into Wei Xiu’s embrace completely naked.

Unsurprisingly, Wei Xiu’s pheromones spike. But in the midst of the loss of control the omega had been waiting for, Wei Xiu lifts him up, simply tells him to “stop messing around”, then goes back to a calm state.

Xu Yunchun is flabbergasted.

The young master is just too impressive.

…Or does his attraction level in the young master’s eye amount to nothing more than this?

Feeling a bit sad, Xu Yunchun can only look for something to occupy himself.

Suddenly, there’s an intense wave of pheromones in the air. He lifts his head and sees Wei Xiu look away from a distance.

Wei Xiu pitifully says: “No more flirting!”

Xu Yunchun: “ I didn’t do anything!”

Wei Xiu: “Don’t think that I don’t know that you’re up to something! I just want to spend a nice and appropriate wedding night with you! I’ve been anticipating this since my last life, don’t mess with me like this.

Xu Yunchun is silent. He lets out a pheromone attack.

The young master loves him so much.

Finally Xu Yunchun and Wei Xiu wed.

There’s no fancy elements, no other people, the two just quietly register their marriage, put on their rings and go back home.

Wei Xiu pulled Xu Yunchun to bow to heaven and earth, bow to their late parents, and then bow to each other.

Xu Yunchun: “You’re so familiar with the wedding rites, young master!”

Wei Xiu’s face shines bright red: “Well, I am a shameless, indecent person who’s been fantasizing about the day I marry you, acting it out in my head countless times. You got a problem?”

Xu Yunchun: “Nope, because I’m no better. Always preaching about the protection of the young master’s innocence, in the end, the one who stole it is me.”

“The prime example of stealing what one was entrusted to protect.” Xu Yuncun summarizes.

That night, the two gleefully enjoy their wedding night.

Xu Yunchun: “It’s a good thing I purchase the main character for you, young master. If you became a villain, who knows when we would have been able to wed?”

Wei Xiu: “There’s no such thing as side and main character villains, they’re all main characters.”

Xu Yunchun: “Then a story where we both become the main characters would go like this: the first main character is a prudish germaphobe young master…”

Wei Xiu breathes a deep sigh.

Xu Yunchun: “He’s a refined, disciplined, and prudent young master!”

Wei Xiu nods.

Xu Yunchun: “The other main character is an imperial guard who received the young master’s deepest love and care and was raised by him to be clever and sharp.”

Satisfied, Wei Xiu continues: “The two rely on each other to survive, but later they get separated. Thankfully, they meet again, and have each other again.”

Xu Yunchun: “In the end, the two live a happy, joyous life together.”

Wei Xiu laughs: “That’s quite a well-rounded story.”

*In traditional Chinese wedding ceremonies, it is customary for the couple to complete this sequence of bows: a bow to heaven and earth, bow to both sets of parents, and bow to each other.
