Chapter 34

When Xu Yunchun wakes up, the lecture is over and Shen Xi is gone. After some sleep, he feels fully rejuvenated and begins bombarding Wei Xiu with questions: “What do you think of Shen Xi? Isn’t he pretty? What did he say to you?”

With a grumpy expression, Wei Xiu says nothing and simply smacks Xu Yunchun in the face with the lecture notes he just finished writing.

Xu Yunchun leaps onto Wei Xiu’s back: “You’re the best, young master!”

Wei Xiu peels the other off of him as the young beta continues rambling: “I had suspected Shen Xi may have fancied you. Before, Fake Wei Xiu harassed him to no end and he never got angry. I suspect he’s the type that is cold on the outside, yet warm on the inside…just like you, young master!

Wei Xiu finally speaks up: “Stay away from that guy. He harbors ill intentions.”

Wei Xiu relays his conversation with Shen Xi and Xu Yunchun quickly comes to a conclusion: “Oh, I understand, it’s a lover’s quarrel! ‘A little omega like you dares to disobey me? Huh, now, you’ve got my attention!’”

Wei Xiu explodes: “Who’s paying attention to him? He’s a snake and he just looks like he’s up to no good!

Xu Yunchun grins silently. The implication of his expression ignited a fire in Wei Xiu within an instant, his anger was about to erupt.

Then, Xu Yunchun continues asking: “Omegas are quite fragrant, aren’t they? Do they smell good?”

Wei Xiu suddenly cools.

Wei Xiu: “You’ve never smelled them before?”

Xu Yunchun: “I’m a beta, I can’t smell alpha and omega pheromones. I don’t even know what you smell like, young master.”

Wei Xiu’s mood flutters.

“What do you smell like, young master?”

“It’s none of your business!”

“Tell me! Tell me!”

Like a little rat, Xu Yunchun climbs across Wei Xiu’s body. He pesters the alpha until he gives in and, in a low voice, reveals the scent of his pheromones.

“Isn’t that my favourite scent? Young master, you are indeed the best!”  Xu Yunchun cheers.

Wei Xiu displays a satisfied smile.

As he expected, there is no way Xu Yunchun wouldn’t like the scent.

From that day on, Wei Xiu notices that the frequency of Shen Xi’s appearances with Xu Yunchun has suddenly increased.

Wei Xiu: “He’s trying to get your attention.”

Xu Yunchun: “Is he? I think he’s just using these opportunities to see you more.”

Xu Yunchun’s too slow on the uptake, so Wei Xiu goes to see Shen Xi himself.

Wei Xiu: “Stay away from Xu Yunchun.”

Shen Xi: “You have no right to tell me what to do.”

Wei Xiu: “He belongs with me.”

Shen Xi: “Is that so? Are you willing to outright tell everyone that he’s your lover then?”

Wei Xiu is speechless.

Shen Xi: “Are you willing to tell everyone you love him?”

Wei Xiu’s face turns bright red.

Wei Xiu and Xu Yunchun don’t have that kind of relationship, they are master and servant, bros, and they’re each other’s only dependants, but definitely not lovers. They grew up together, how could he have those kinds of feelings for Xu Yunchun? He’s already warned himself not to harbor such feelings…

“He and I don’t have that kind of relationship…”

“You’re a scumbag and a coward! Listen, I like Xu Yunchun! And from now on, I plan to pursue him!”

“You dare?”

“You don’t even have the guts to, yet you wanna stop me?”

Flustered, Wei Xiu explodes into a self-conscious rage: “If you have the guts then you go try! Let’s see if he likes you back!”
