General Gu had been in a bad mood recently. Firstly, someone he suddenly started to care about was still behaving like a crazy person. Secondly, he was going to leave for the battlefield soon.

What should I do… General Gu paced back and forth in his room. That person was extremely precious and with his spoilt background, there was no way he could go with him to the battlefield. But the problem now was that he was obviously not in his right mind. He didn’t improve after seeing the doctor and to let him return to the palace in this state… it was impossible for General Gu to not be worried.

In the end, he decided to call the eunuch over and beat around the bush by talking about the Emperor and Empress Dowager’s love for the prince and what if, just what if, they learnt about his current situation. They would probably execute the eunuch and his entire family for not being able to protect their dear prince…

The eunuch immediately knelt down after hearing this, pale and trembling as he begged for help from the general.

And thus, General Gu helped him up and gave him some instructions.

After listening to what General Gu told him, the eunuch left with tears of gratitude and headed to the palace. He explained to the Emperor that the prince and the general had formed a very close friendship and now that the general was about to go on an expedition, the prince was unwilling to part with him so he decided to stay at the general’s place for a few more days to enjoy each other’s company for a bit longer.

The Emperor knew about his son’s interest in General Gu so with a big wave of his hand, he dismissed the eunuch without saying or doubting anything.

So now, with the temporarily undiscovered crime of deceiving the Emperor, General Gu and the eunuch, silently looked at the only person who can save their lives – the little genius.

As long as this man recovers from his illness, they won’t have to worry about their lives.

Ever since the little genius learnt that he wouldn’t be killed, he’d really been living his life leisurely. Moreover, he was extremely grateful to General Gu for being very kind and allowing him out of the house, although the conversation and situation at that time was very strange—

One day at breakfast, the little genius who had finished his meal looked at the silent General Gu and slowly shuffled over before smiling, “so, doc…cough, General Gu, can I discuss something with you?”

General Gu was satisfied that this man could take the initiative to talk to him and nodded, “you can speak freely.”

“It’s like this, I don’t mind if you want me to act out this play with you but I want to know whether the range of this is only limited to this room, or is the outside included as well? Don’t get me wrong, I have no intentions of escaping and I’m not brave enough to do that either…haha…” The little genius mumbled out and carefully observed the other party’s face before smiling, “I just thought that it’s a little too difficult to live like this since there isn’t a television, computer, mobile phone or stuff like that. You also know that I’m good with the computer so I’ll feel uncomfortable if I don’t touch it for a period of time. So that’s why, I was thinking if the acting is only in this room, then…can you get me a notebook? Even if I can’t surf the Internet, I can at least play minesweeper…right?”

“……” General Gu’s hand that was holding the teacup was shaking slightly. Firstly, he was very sure that the man was really speaking human words. Secondly, he was very sure that the man was really speaking their language. Lastly, he was very sure that he clearly heard every word the man said. But why…why couldn’t he understand a single word?! Why?! Is it because he didn’t study enough?!

The little genius started to walk around the house with nothing to do, thinking that General Gu’s silence was him actually considering his words. But in the end, after seeing that General Gu was not going to respond anytime soon, he sighed, “ha…I didn’t expect that you’d even light candles at night but aren’t you too dedicated to this? There’s also not a single socket in this whole room. It really looks genuine and can probably be used in those dramas. Hm, when you bring me the book, get some extension cords through the window too or there’ll be no electricity,” he continued to mumble before shuffling over, “well, what about it?”

What…what about what? Why is this so hard? General Gu shakily put down the teacup and maintained a stony expression. He had fought many battles and came out victorious, he had been through many life and death situations and had thought about dying with honor on the battlefield and had also thought about marrying a good wife. And the worst thing he’d thought that could happen to him was if the prince chose him but it was today that he found out that he was very, very wrong!

There’s something even worse!

The little genius stared at his face, “so…can you tell me?”

What do you want me to tell you?! General Gu silently turned to look at him but the fury in his eyes was very clear. The little genius was very good at observing expressions and immediately knew that getting that book was a gone case. His shoulders slumped in an instant and he said in a depressed tone, “alright, I understand.”

General Gu’s eyes shook. What did you understand? Why do you look so disappointed? Did I say anything? You being like this…has nothing to do with me, right? Right?

The little genius sighed and walked around the room again, “okay, let’s go back to the original topic. How big is the range of this game? If it’s not just this room, then…can I go out for a walk? It’s good to bask in the sun and kill some bacteria…”

General Gu took a deep breath and tightly clenched his fist. Although he didn’t understand that last sentence, he understood the above sentence, he finally understood! The general who had fought many battles, saw life and death, and slaughtered countless others was so excited over this major discovery that he trembled all over and had tears glistening in his eyes.

The little genius saw his bloodshot eyes and immediately shrank into the corner, he trembled violently and tried to say something to calm the general down, “that’s…don’t be angry…don’t be angry…I was just casually asking…actually, it’s fine if I don’t go out…haha…”

But General Gu suddenly stood up, strode over and pulled him up.

The little genius turned paler, “don’t…don’t kill me…”

General Gu with trembling hands, pulled the prince outside to the yard and patted him on the shoulder as kindly as possible, “look, we’re out. You can walk as you like,” he added, “I know you want to walk around.” I finally understand what you want.

The little genius’s body almost fell apart when he got patted on the shoulder and he hurried to one side before saying gratefully, “thank you. You’re a good man.”

General Gu coughed and tried to control his emotions. He thought it was a good time to get closer with him.

The little genius who was now outside looked around and opened his mouth, “exactly how much do you like the ancient style?”

“……” Once again, General Gu couldn’t understand.

The little genius looked at him and slowly walked over, “I have to say though, you’re really immersed in the play. You didn’t have such an emotionless face before. Do you really not want to consider going to Hollywood? It’s better to star in a movie rather than act it out all by yourself, don’t you think?”

“……”

The little genius looked at him strangely and continued to walk around silently. General Gu followed behind him. While strolling, he finally came to the open space in the front hall and looked out. Other than an ancient building far away, he could see no high-rise buildings. Is this a suburb? But what’s the deal with that ancient building?

If only I could go out and have a look…
