Chapter 25 – Truth

“Hmph.” Long Junhao said as he looked at the disappearing Shu Wen. Just as he was about to continue walking, someone called out to him. He turned his head to look and realised that it was Xiao Yu. 

He leisurely opened his mouth, “I’ll talk to you if you get me out of this damn place on that helicopter. If not, don’t even talk to me.”

Xiao Yu initially did not care about the prince but after seeing how he had managed to make everyone go crazy, he was slowly getting interested.

“You want to leave this place?” Xiao Yu stared at him for a moment before he smiled lightly, “that’s easy, I have an idea.”

Beside them, Gu Chen who was silently listening suddenly noticed the sound of something dripping. Perturbed, he turned around to look and saw Li Xuan drooling, having a nosebleed and crying all at the same time as he stared at Xiao Yu. Gu Chen immediately looked away only to see He Tianfan, who obviously couldn’t miss out on the chance to see a beauty, also drooling. 

“……”

“…Li Xuan,” Gu Chen helplessly said, “Xiao Yu is your wife.”

Li Xuan continued to leak out all kinds of liquid as he choked out, “you don’t need to remind me…”

“……” Gu Chen felt even more helpless, “so there’s no reason you have to be this pathetic right?”

“What do you know?” He blinked away his tears, his nose still bleeding as he emphasised, “did you see? Xiao Yu smiled. He smiled, smiled.”

“Okay, yes, he smiled…” Gu Chen took a deep breath and tried to calm down. After that, he pinched a corner of Li Xuan’s white coat and brought it up in front of his face, “here, wipe your face. I know Xiao Yu is very good looking but you didn’t have to cry.”

“How can I not cry… let me tell you, the one who should cry the most is me…” Li Xuan sobbed out as he carelessly wiped his face on his coat and sadly brushed away his tears, “ever since he recovered, he has not once smiled at me!!”

Gu Chen speechlessly looked over to Xiao Yu’s side. He was giving Long Junhao advice, not caring if the people around were listening or not, “first of all, Li Xuan absolutely loves money. I heard from him that you know how to make explosives, so look,” he pointed his finger at the buildings inside the asylum, “just use them to destroy all the valuable things you can find. Sooner or later, you’ll drive him crazy and he will gladly send you home.”

Long Junhao’s eyes sparkled and he bit his finger, “can this really work?”

“Yes,” Xiao Yu nodded as he replied, his expression returning back to the usual indifference. 

The prince was immediately moved to tears and he grabbed onto Xiao Yu’s hand, “if I can really get out of here, I will make sure to visit you. Oh, and while you’re at it, you can take me around on the helicopter. I’ve never flown on it before.”

“Okay, make sure to do it soon and remember, the more you destroy, the better.”

“Don’t worry, I know what I’m doing.”

With a shattering sound, Li Xuan’s small and fragile heart broke into pieces. His nosebleed and drool had already stopped but his tears continued pouring out. He muttered weakly, “honey……”

Gu Chen turned to look at him, “is he really your wife?”

“Of course he is,” Li Xuan grabbed his chest and quietly wept, “look, he understands me so well. Ah, wait,“ he raised his head to look at his wife, “honey, the one I love the most is you, money comes after….”

“It doesn’t matter which one you love the most,” Xiao Yu replied, “he will also blow me up so in the end, the most important thing is still these buildings.”

“Actually, you can’t say that…” Long Junhao slowly opened his mouth, “if I were to tie you up and threaten him, will he let me leave?”

“……” Xiao Yu paused for a moment, “not bad, you’re good at inferring things from people’s words.”

“Ah, you overpraise…” Long Junhao smiled, “so can you cooperate with me?”

Before Xiao Yu could even open his mouth, Li Xuan had rushed over and pulled him into his arms. He looked at the gleaming eyes of the prince and also looked at a certain beast¹He Tianfan drooling from afar. He suddenly had the impulse to hide away his wife. 

“Honey, it’s too dangerous outside, why don’t we go back and sleep? Okay? Sleep?” Li Xuan tried his best to convince him.

Xiao Yu glanced at the nearby beast and the patient with gleaming eyes standing in front of him. He silently considered for a moment before finally nodding, “alright then.”

Blood immediately rushed to Li Xuan’s head as he got excited and almost couldn’t resist pushing his wife down there and then. He leaned over and aggressively shook the prince’s hand with gratitude before excitedly dragging his wife away.

Long Junhao dumbfoundedly stared at his hand and then raised his head to look at the person sprinting away. “It’s okay, there’s no difference whether I kidnap or not, I still have these buildings I can destroy.”

Li Xuan froze for a moment and a faint sob could be heard before he continued walking as if nothing had happened.

Other than the beast, Gu Chen and Long Junhao were the only ones left in the courtyard. Gu Chen looked at the other party and before he could say anything, Long Junhao had already turned his head and walked away, he lazily added, “from today onwards, you should move out, your prince won’t serve you anymore.”

Gu Chen good naturedly followed behind him and patiently asked, “why?”

Long Junhao squinted his eyes at him, “don’t you want to live with your prince?”

“Not only that,” Gu Chen smiled, “I hope we can grow old together.”

Long Junhao’s heart skipped a bit and a blush formed on his face as he dazedly stared at Gu Chen’s deep and sincere eyes. It was a while before he also started smiling, “we can do that too,” he said, “after i get out of here. For now, let’s sleep in separate rooms.”

Gu Chen continued to ask patiently, “and why?”

“Because your prince is upset,” Long Junhao reached out and caressed Gu Chen’s face, continuing to smile, “I’m doing this for you… Because you don’t believe me, you always treat me like a crazy person and you don’t want to let me leave. All these things added up have made your prince very upset. I’m really afraid that I might get up in the middle of the night to strangle you to death, my beloved…”

“……” Gu Chen replied, “since when did I not believe you?”

Gu Chen furrowed his eyebrows, frowning before he sat down next to him, “……for real?”

“Bullshit,” Long Junhao rolled his eyes at him, “your prince remembers everything from his childhood till now, even the tiniest details. Can a dream be so lifelike? Only God knows how much your prince wanted to hang himself on the beam²commit suicide when he first found out what this place was! Your prince transmigrated here only to be seen as a crazy person by everyone…”

The more he said, the more angry and bitter he became. In the end, he bit his lips, his eyes watery and sobbed.

Gu Chen very shamefully thought that he looked cute despite the situation but he managed to hold back his urge to hug and muttered out, “say it again with more detail.”

Long Junhao snorted and effortlessly repeated his words for him. Gu Chen listened carefully with a slight frown on his face.

It was a long time before the prince managed to finish saying everything. He asked, “how is it? Is there anything wrong with my logic? This shows that your prince did not dream about it! This is a fact! Your prince actually transmigrated here and it just had to be into the body of a crazy person.”

Gu Chen hurriedly comforted, “be content with this, even if you transmigrated into a normal person, you’ll end up being sent in here anyways. It should be counted as lucky that you’re in this particular asylum.”

“Yes,” Long Junhao coaxed, “continue.”

“That’s it.”

Long Junhao blanked out, “…that’s it?”

He nodded.

“Impossible,” Long Junhao hugged the paddle and paced back and forth in front of Gu Chen before finally coming to a stop in front of him, “this doesn’t make sense, how is it possible you don’t have anything more to say?”

Gu Chen nodded once again, “I just have nothing else to say.”

“That’s even more impossible,” Long Junhao once again paced back and forth before stopping in front of him, “this doesn’t make sense, how can you believe me so easily?”

Gu Chen’s mouth twitched, “do you want me to believe you or not?”

“I do want you to believe me,” Long Junhao started pacing again before stopping, “but I didn’t know it’d be this easy. What’s your reason for believing me so quickly?”

As he finished speaking and was about to start pacing again, Gu Chen quickly stopped him in place, took away his paddle and threw it aside. “Don’t pace anymore, I’m dizzy.”

Long Junhao looked down at his empty hands and suddenly realised something, “…so you’re finally going to add on to your words?”

Gu Chen grabbed onto his shoulders, “listen to me slowly.”

Long Junhao was flustered, “you’re going to add on slowly?”

Gu Chen closed his eyes and exhaled out as if in preparation for something. He then opened his eyes again and grabbed the sides of Long Junhao’s head before moving in for a kiss.

It was an extremely fierce kiss, one that did not give him the chance to resist. Long Junhao could not even let out a word of refusal before his teeth were forced open and a burning heat rolled in. Gu Chen’s tongue unceremoniously invaded and swept over Long Junhao’s mouth and gums, earnestly devouring everything in its wake before finally entangling itself with his tongue in a deeper kiss.

A moan escaped from Long Junhao’s lips and he tried to push him away but ended up getting pinned down on the bed instead. He couldn’t escape anymore. Gu Chen pressed down both of his hands with one hand, and pulled his chin with the other and continued kissing fervently. It was only when the both of them were running out of breath did Gu Chen then bite his lips and release him.

Long Junhao gasped for air, his cheeks flushed. He narrowed his beautiful eyes at Gu Chen, looking like a lazy cat and also a little bewitching. Gu Chen’s breath caught in his throat as he stared at him and heard him panting, “what are you…”

“To divert your attention,” Gu Chen smiled and patted him on the face, “now, listen to me.”

Long Junhao took note of the situation and nodded his head, “okay…”

Feeling pleased, Gu Chen pinched Long Junhao’s cheeks. “I really believe you.”

Long Junhao shot back without thinking, “I don’t believe you, what’s your reason?”

“It’s not that I don’t have a reason but rather…” Gu Chen started hesitantly, he looked at him for a while before he decided to give up, “fine, you already know that I came here to kill you before… but what you don’t know is that I succeeded.”

Long Junhao froze in shock and it was a long while before he managed to reply, “…what did you say?!”

“That is to say, I made sure you were dead before I left… so when I heard you were still alive, I rushed back here.”

Long Junhao’s mouth hung open in shock, “…you killed him³the original owner of the body?”

Gu Chen nodded and looked at his expression, “are you okay?”

Long Junhao was in a daze for a long time before he came back to reality, “so I transmigrated here because you killed the original owner of this body?”

Gu Chen pondered silently for a moment and with great difficulty, nodded his head, “I think that’s very possible…”

Gu Chen hastily restrained him and tried to console, “you should think of it from another perspective, if I didn’t kill that person, you might have already turned into a wandering ghost…”

Long Junhao continued to struggle in his arms, but just couldn’t break free. He could only angrily huff and slowly calm down with his thoughts. It’s okay, this is not the biggest attack I’ve received on my mental state, it’s no big deal.

Gu Chen felt very pleased at how Long Junhao was calming down by himself, he pulled him to stand up and smiled, “alright, I won’t treat you like a crazy person anymore, Your Highness.”

Even though Long Junhao wasn’t satisfied, Gu Chen was the first person to really believe him, allowing him to finally have someone he can talk to about his bitter feelings. He slowly kept away his negative emotions.

Suddenly, from the corner of his eyes, he noticed the paddle on the floor. He paused for a moment before silently walking over to pick it up. He looked at the paddle in his hands and looked at Gu Chen in contemplation.

Gu Chen felt goosebumps on his skin as Long Junhao stared at him, he shifted to the side, “…what are you planning to do now?”

Long Junhao nibbled on his lips and continued to stare at him.

“……” Gu Chen said, “fine, if you still can’t get rid of your anger, you can hit me. I won’t fight back, just don’t beat me to death.”

“No,” Long Junhao shook his head and said in a very serious tone, “actually, I want to beat you to death…”

“……”

“Don’t look at me like that, I can’t help it, it was you who said I should think from a different perspective,” Long Junhao blinked, “say, if I kill you, will the general transmigrate too?”

“……” Gu Chen wiped his face and stared back imposingly, “so you still haven’t forgotten about him.”

Long Junhao froze in shock and subconsciously took a step back. He realised how cowardly he was and immediately felt guilty.

Long Junhao immediately threw the paddle away and rushed over, “I won’t kill you, how could I even think of killing you? I was just joking, really.”

Long Junhao’s tender embrace made Gu Chen very happy. He subconsciously looked at the paddle from the corner of his eyes before he shut his eyes and painfully added, “your relationship should be protected even if everything else must be destroyed⁴宁拆十座庙不毁一桩婚 – direct translation is ‘it is better to demolish ten temples than to destroy one marriage’, I can’t hold you back.”

“No,” Long Junhao hugged him tighter and stubbornly looked up at him, “the general doesn’t like me. You’re good to me, the one I like now is you, Dr. Gu. I’m not substituting you for anyone. Believe me, please believe me.” 

It was only then did Gu Chen open his eyes, he was bursting with joy but didn’t let it show on his face, “really?”

Long Junhao quickly nodded his head, “yes, yes, really.”

Gu Chen was unconvinced and asked with uncertainty, “do you only like me?”

Long Junhao nodded again.

Gu Chen looked at him for a moment before returning the hug, he smiled, “that’s great, I’ll believe you.” He secretly sighed in relief. Phew, I saved my own life.

Long Junhao’s muffled voice sounded from within Gu Chen’s embrace, “do you really believe me?”

“Yes, I do.”

Long Junhao finally felt at ease and raised his head to look at him, “then now, since you know that I’m not crazy, when can I get discharged?”

“For the time being, you can’t,” Gu Chen looked at Long Junhao’s expression and hurriedly explained, “you’re much safer in here than outside, wait for me to solve the issue with Lei Yan first then, I will immediately take you out.”

“How long will I have to wait…” Long Junhao muttered, “ah! Yu Ao told me that Lei Yan might come here in person, what should we do?”

Gu Chen froze, “are you sure?”

“I don’t know, that’s what he said…”

Gu Chen glanced at the paddle on the floor again before pulling him out of the room and happily said, “I guess we should quickly leave this room and ask him~”

“Ah? Oh, okay,” Long Junhao tilted his head at him, “why does something feel a little strange……”

“What’s strange,” Gu Chen gently replied, “be good, I only wish to quickly solve this issue and live together with you… don’t you want to leave this place as soon as possible?”

“Yes…”

“So let’s quicken our pace…”

“Okay…”

“So well-behaved…”
