After sending everyone away, Gu Chen returned to the room and saw Long Junhao rolling on the bed and biting his blanket. He walked over and patted Long Junhao’s head. “It’s alright, stop feeling wronged.”

“What?! This is anger!” Long Junhao turned to him with reddened eyes. He looked very miserable when he said with a trembling lip, “Did you hear what that evil being said before he left?”

Gu Chen casually reminded, “That was said to your mother.”

“Yeah, it was. But what did he say? What’s the meaning of ‘Luckily, I didn’t go to the director’s office’? What’s that supposed to mean?” Long Junhao gnashed his teeth and gripped the corner of the blanket. In his past life, all his grievances added up couldn’t even be compared to what he had gone through here. “It seemed like his original intention had been to take me away. But even if he did so, he could just bring me out. What’s the need for visiting the director’s office?”

“The patients here can only be discharged with the approval of the director. Otherwise, those guards outside wouldn’t let anybody leave with a patient, even if they are your parents.” Gu Chen explained patiently with a smile. “Besides, you asked this question a while ago, right?”

Long Junhao sat staring at him and didn’t let go of the pitiful blanket at all. He sniffled but remained silent, looking utterly disheveled.

Gu Chen pulled Long Junhao into his embrace at once and continued to relate the truth, “Afterwards, I remember you asking your mother whether she believed your father intended to bring you out. Your mother’s answer was ‘Yes, because he would always agree when I beg him’…” Gu Chen noticed Long Junhao’s eyes were red and thus he concluded while smiling kindly, “Therefore, it seems like your father did indeed have the intention of taking you out but after that, he was stopped by someone…”

“Don’t go on anymore!” Long Junhao grabbed a pillow and tossed it at Gu Chen’s face. “I’m so pissed. That demon definitely did it on purpose! Definitely! Boohoo!” Long Junhao rolled around in the bed.

Gu Chen gently picked up the thrown weapon and continued to watch Long Junhao rage. When Long Junhao had already vented for quite a while, Gu Chen picked him up once again and said warmly, “Enough, let’s talk about some important things.”

“Important things my *ss!” Long Junhao wasn’t in a good mood but he felt a little more comfortable after venting. At the very least, he was no longer rolling around. He sat up while still seething. “The main point is that I still have to stay in this godforsaken asylum and continue living with a bunch of abnormal creatures!”

“That was the previous focus. Right now, we should talk about the important matter at hand. Like the——” Gu Chen eyed him with a ruminating look. This person’s hair and attire were a mess. The faintly discernible collarbones, now exposed by the loose collar, made one’s imagination run wild…

Long Junhao was still sulking and didn’t even make eye contact. He asked lazily, “Like what?”

Gu Chen chuckled and regained his composure. He lowered his gaze and slowly opened his mouth, “Like our living arrangements from today onwards. What are your thoughts regarding this?”

“Today onwards?” Long Junhao finally looked at him, then scrutinized the large bed in the room. He pondered for a while, searching for the right word. “You mean cohabitation?”

Gu Chen was momentarily stunned but he quickly smiled and rubbed Long Junhao’s head. “Not bad.”

“This is called putting what I learned into practice.” Long Junhao slapped away Gu Chen’s hand and got off the bed to wash up. He hadn’t even gotten the chance to eat since he woke up and had gone through this whole incident. He had suffered a huge psychological blow and needed to supplement it with his physical capability. Before the revolution was complete, he, comrade Long Junhao, needed to work hard. He felt that his ability to take blows had improved ever since he came to this institution.

Gu Chen got some staff members to send food over. He got up and leaned on the door frame. With a smile, he asked, “You still haven’t told me how you feel about that.”

“Doesn’t matter.” Long Junhao was washing his face at the moment and his voice was a little garbled. “But there’s something I would like to tell you. I’ve decided to stop climbing the wall in the future.” Climbing was a physical activity. Furthermore, he found out today that these security guards had a mercenary background. He at least knew what mercenaries were and it was no wonder he had been caught so many times whenever he climbed. Thus, Long Junhao decided to learn how to manufacture explosives and blast his way out. One bomb, two bombs, as many bombs as it takes hahaha~

Gu Chen wasn’t too bothered with his response. He could already guess as much by seeing Long Junhao’s feeble reaction when hearing that these guards had mercenary backgrounds. But, what did his expression mean? Gu Chen tried to bear with it, but eventually succumbed and asked helplessly, “What’s on your mind? You are smiling so… erm, handsomely.”

“Ah?” Long Junhao came back to reality and wiped his face. “Nothing, I just feel really happy being able to live together with you. Hehehe, it’s true.”

“How happy?”

“Extremely delighted. Really.” Long Junhao’s innocent face glanced at him sincerely. “To express my happiness, I have decided to bring you a bit of joy into your life.”

Gu Chen raised an eyebrow. “Like?”

Long Junhao answered earnestly, “Calling girls1 a more literal translation of the raws here would be hiring prostitutes .”

“…”

Long Junhao reckoned himself as someone who kept to his word. Therefore, after his breakfast, he dragged Gu Chen along to the pavilion.  He had two lounge chairs set up and instructed staff to bring some tea and refreshments. Long Junhao sat down in a princely manner and beckoned to the long-haired beauty with his hand. “Come, sing a song for your prince. You will receive a good reward if you sing well.”

“…” Was this the reality of calling girls? Gu Chen glanced silently at the long-haired beauty, Xiu Cong. Xiu Cong giggled while looking at Long Junhao and he asked gently, “I wonder what Your Highness is prepared to reward me with?”

Long Junhao took a sip of fragrant tea and answered with an air of nobility, “As long as you sing well, I will reward you with anything you want.”

Xiu Cong giggled and raised a smooth and delicate finger straight at Gu Chen. “Alright then, I want him.”

Long Junhao blankly turned his head towards where the finger was pointing. Gu Chen had a look as though he had just been enlightened. Long Junhao’s eyes widened. “You guys… have an affair?”

“Pfft2 sound of spitting water…Cough cough…” Gu Chen spat out a mouthful of tea. “You… you are overthinking.”

Long Junhao’s eyes were still widened. “Then, why? Why did he have to point at you? And why do you seem like you already saw it coming? What is this if it isn’t adultery?”

Gu Chen hurriedly tried to calm him down, “I will slowly explain it to you next time.”

“Why not now?!” Long Junhao felt like he was grievously hurt. He bit his lower lip and sniffled. What was the cruelest thing in the world? Bringing my beloved to listen to a performance and discovering that my beloved was actually coupling up with the performer!

“Ah, this isn’t right.” Long Junhao clutched at his chest and muttered, “Why did I use the word ‘beloved’?”

Gu Chen went over. “What did you just say?”

“Don’t…don’t you talk to me now. Let me slow…slow…” Long Junhao slumped into the lounge chair as if he had just suffered a massive blow. Meanwhile, the main culprit and long-haired beauty Xiu Cong giggled, “Your Highness, do I still sing?”

“Yes, sing.” Long Junhao nodded. “Just sing that song ‘Life is like a painting of sad autumn wind’. Just singing that last phrase will do…”

Gu Chen, “…”

Xiu Cong smiled. “Your highness, it wouldn’t be a tune this way.”

“Then…then change it…” Long Junhao said breezily, “Then change it to ‘Injustice to Dou E’ whatever it is that has June snow, winter lasting for three years, and injustice. Whatever, just sing that one…”

“…Haohao.”

Long Junhao turned over. “Those who lead on and discard have no right to say anything…”

“…” Gu Chen was left speechless. If he remembered correctly, he hadn’t even taken any advantage! He turned and stared at Xiu Cong. The long-haired beauty was singing away happily.

Long Junhao sank deeper into the lounge chair and let go of his teacup. He briefly ordered, “Come, serve some wine. I have to get drunk today.”

Gu Chen kneaded his temples. He was about to try probing when an anguished roar sounded from afar. Everyone was startled as they saw Comrade Shu Wen rushing over without any signs of stopping. He pointed at Xiu Cong’s face and started berating, “Where did you come from, vixen? How dare you try to seduce my man?! And you!” He pointed at Gu Chen. “Which hole did a rat like you scurry out from? And also…” He finally glanced at Long Junhao and said bashfully, “I really am carrying your child… You must definitely take responsibility…”

Fox Xiu Cong giggled. “Vixen…”

Gu Chen who had been labeled a rat finally came to his senses, “…”

The main lead Long Junhao was silent for a moment. Following that, he grabbed Shu Wen’s hand then turned towards Xiu Cong and exclaimed animatedly, “I bestow him to you!”

Xiu Cong continued giggling. “Vixen…”

Gu Chen shuddered from watching that laughter. Meanwhile, Comrade Shu Wen choked. “You…you want to give me away…”

Long Junhao turned towards him. “Who am I to you?”

Shu Wen answered, “My man.”

Long Junhao then asked, “So who should you listen to?”

“You.”

Long Junhao shoved his hand into Xiu Cong’s. “So do you have any issues with me letting you sing and gain some prenatal education by his side for a couple of days?”

Shu Wen immediately became bashful when he heard the words ‘prenatal education’. “No… No I don’t. I will do whatever my man asks of me…”

Long Junhao cast a sidewards glance at Gu Chen. The meaning implied was clear——Even he is better than you!

Gu Chen kneaded his head once more. Long Junhao got up to leave but he had barely taken two steps when there was another miserable wail. He turned grudgingly. “What now?”

Gu Chen saw Comrade Shu Wen lying on the ground clutching his tummy. After a short moment of silence, he said, “I think…your child is about to be born…”

“…” Long Junhao was stunned as he heard what the person on the floor said, “Husband…I… am going to give birth…”

“…” Gu Chen asked, “How will you deal with it?”

“…” Long Junhao answered, “Easy.” Following that, he took a deep breath and shouted, “Physician Chu, hurry over. My wife is about to give birth!”

“Coming, coming!” Someone cried out moments later and came running over. He rushed over to Shu Wen and started the delivery process. “Madam, push hard!”

“Alright…”

“Push harder!”

“Ahh ahh ahh! It…hurts…”

Long Junhao stared blankly. Although this incident had been set up by him, he still found this scene a little annoying… Gu Chen indicated to the staff at the side to break them apart before turning towards the expressionless Long Junhao. “What’s on your mind?”

Long Junhao stared at him with his mouth agape and said feebly, “Wife, come out and follow the Bull Demon to see god…”3 it’s a phrase from a comedic journey to the west movie. I don’t really get it too

“…”

“…Xiao Jian?” A trembling voice sounded amidst all the ruckus.

Long Junhao and Gu Chen turned their heads and saw a middle-aged lady in her fifties with a youngster supporting her from the side. As the lady watched the bunch being pulled apart, she slowly walked up. “Xiao Jian, it’s me, mommy…”

Gu Chen looked towards the distance and saw another person about 10 meters behind the two. At the moment, the person was staring in shock at all that was happening. However, his gaze seemed to bypass everyone and was only fixated on Chu Jian as if they were the only two people in the world.
