Luo Yi took Chu Jian back to the bedroom and placed him onto the bed before silently looking at him. The aura around him was very heavy and the sense of oppression made the medical staff afraid and they could only look in from outside the door. They really couldn’t understand how the young comrade Luo Yi changed into such a serious looking person.
Luo Yi noticed their eyes on him and glanced in their direction. They immediately retracted their heads and closed the door, aware of the current situation. He sighed and touched his face before getting up to open the door. And with a polite smile, he said, “you guys don’t need to wait here. I’ll call you again when he wakes up.”
The crowd was shocked by how fast he could change his personality and nodded in unison, “oh, okay.”
“Alright then.” Luo Yi smiled and closed the door.
The people outside the door looked at each other and one of them slowly opened his mouth, “guys…what are the chances that Xiao Yi has a split personality?”
The crowd was silent.
Luo Yi felt a little depressed. After closing the door, he’d leaned against it and heard what was said outside. He couldn’t help but to shake his head and smile bitterly at their words. If he continued going on like this, he could really develop a split personality. When he walked back to the bed, he noticed that Chu Jian’s face was still pale and his colourless lips were trembling slightly. A thin layer of sweat could be seen on his forehead as he frowned and it was obvious that he wasn’t sleeping well.
Luo Yi looked at him for a while before he climbed onto the bed and pulled him into his embrace. He lightly caressed his head and said softly, “it’s alright. It’s all in the past.”
Chu Jian seemed to feel the warmth even in his unconscious state. His frown slowly disappeared and he subconsciously buried deeper into his embrace. Luo Yi kissed him on the top of his head and wiped the sweat off his forehead for him before silently holding his hand.
The bedroom was quiet for a while. Luo Yi stared at the ceiling and was thinking about whether to sleep or not when he heard a voice, “Cheng Xuan…”
Luo Yi immediately froze and he heard the person in his arms continue murmuring, “Cheng Xuan…” The voice was trembling and was so weak that it felt like the words would disappear as soon as it came into contact with air. It sounded like he was choking back tears and was extremely desperate.
Luo Yi couldn’t help but look down at him. Chu Jian’s head was turned to the side and he opened and closed his mouth. Slowly, a drop of tear slid down from the corner of his eye and disappeared into his hair.
Just a drop.
Luo Yi looked at him for a long time and couldn’t help sighing. How tough can this man be? Even if he fell into such madness, even if he recalled everything in his sleep again, he only allowed himself to shed a tear.
Just like that mission. Even if he loved him, he did not go against his orders, continued to collect evidence and even forced himself to shoot.
“Cheng Xuan…” Chu Jian frowned and a layer of sweat appeared on his forehead again as he struggled to turn over.
Luo Yi held him down and grabbed his chin to look at him. He stared at him for a long time before he faintly sighed, “actually, it’s okay if you remain crazy…you probably haven’t been happy ever since you completed your mission…right? If you remain like this…haha…at least you’ll be happy every day.”
Chu Jian who was being held down by him frowned deeper, his lips were still shaking slightly, but there was no sound. Luo Yi looked at it for a while and used his thumb to gently stroke his lips. In the end, he gave in to his desire and leaned over to kiss. His tongue pried open his teeth and went in deeply. And after exploring around, he entangled his own tongue with the other.
Luo Yi kissed deeper and deeper like a stranded fish that had finally found a life-saving sweet spring, their tongues and lips entangling together with warmth.
Chu Jian made a slight groan of resistance but to Luo Yi’s ears, it was a moan of desire. He couldn’t help but increase his strength and the fierce kiss carried a sense of possessiveness to it. Finally, he reluctantly stopped after feeling that his body was a little hot. His wet lips brought out a silver thread as he separated himself from Chu Jian.
Luo Yi’s breath was disordered as he looked down at Chu Jian. His cheeks were a little flushed due to the lack of oxygen and his lips were ruddy after the kiss just now. He finally didn’t look so pale anymore but his eyes were still tightly shut and he didn’t stir at all. The frown on his face had relaxed and it looked like he had fallen into a deeper sleep.
Luo Yi sighed and found a comfortable position for him before hugging him. He stroked his head, “sleep well, you’ll forget everything when you wake up…” He looked up at the ceiling and smiled bitterly, “it’ll be good if that happens…no, that’s not good…” He sighed again. Why on earth was he so confused?
Gu Chen walked two rounds around the bedroom, looked at the person who was frozen in shock, and then walked two rounds again. Finally, he stopped and waved his hand in front of a prince, “Hao Hao, are you okay…do you have anything else to ask? I’ll explain more.”
Long Junhao stiffly turned to look at him and it was a moment before he found his voice, “there’s still things you can explain?!”
Gu Chen shrugged, “I don’t know what else you want to know and you’re someone who transmigrated so you wouldn’t know anything. Do you still have any questions?”
Long Junhao rubbed his forehead, “you…let me slowly…slowly…”
Gu Chen didn’t mind waiting so he went over and pulled him into his arms, stealing a few mouthfuls of tofu while he was at it.
Long Junhao looked up at him after a long time, “so you’re saying the ones being taken advantage of are actually the pitiful husband and wife— me and Shu Wen?”
The corner of Gu Chen’s mouth twitched, “…can you not say husband and wife?”
Long Junhao didn’t think much of it, “that’s not the point. Answer my question.”
“No,” Gu Chen said, “that’s the point.”
“…fine,” Long Junhao continued, “so you’re saying me and Shu Wen are the only ones who need to pay in this asylum?”
Gu Chen nodded, “yes, no one knows this but Chu Jian doesn’t have to pay either as Li Xuan made a perfect background file for him. Su Cong and I are considered investors of this asylum which means both of you are the only ones who need to pay.”
Long Junhao obviously couldn’t accept this fact and broke away from Gu Chen’s arms. He began to walk around the bedroom, “are you kidding me? Only two people are paying and there are so many medical staff here waiting to get high wages. How is Li Xuan profiting from this?! It’s a miracle he hasn’t gone bankrupt yet!”
“In reality,” Gu Chen said, “he’s actually making money and the only one that’s making money as well even though mine and Su Cong’s shares are in it.”
Long Junhao continued to walk around the room, “how did he make a profit?! And why didn’t you receive dividends?”
“Su Cong paid his medical staff with his own money so nothing was deducted from his dividends. And since he basically lived here, Li Xuan naturally deducted his share of the dividends and Su Cong is someone who doesn’t really care about these kinds of things,” Gu Chen patiently explained, “as for me, Li Xuan and I are friends. But I used to be a killer so I never really worked in this place but since we were friends, I decided to invest. Although Li Xuan has always promised to give me dividends, he never did because he knows I don’t care either.”
Long Junhao immediately roared, “then what about now? Did you become stupid? Since you’re already working here, why don’t you want the money?”
“Did I say that I didn’t want it?” Gu Chen continued to explain, “you know for a fact that I killed you before. I wanted to stop doing that line of business at that time already so Li Xuan allowed me to kill you even though I was smashing his money tree.”
“But I didn’t die!” The prince interrupted him.
“Yes,” Gu Chen nodded in agreement and then said, “but when I was about to do it, Li Xuan told me that my dividends would not be given in the future. I also knew that I was throwing away his source of income so I didn’t think much about it and agreed. Afterwards, it suddenly turned out that Li Xuan had already known that I wanted to kill you.”
Long Junhao angrily walked in circles, “I already told you that I didn’t die, didn’t die! Go and get the money from him now!”
“So that brings us to the key point of this issue,” Gu Chen said. “You know that it’s easy to send money to Li Xuan but asking him for money is equivalent to asking him to die…”
“…” Long Junhao fell silent and continued to circle around the room with resentment.
Gu Chen looked at him and counted silently in his head. When he counted to ten, the prince suddenly held his forehead and with a trembling hand, reached out to him, “come…come over and hold me…I’m dizzy…”
