Xia Tian placed his phone aside, picked it up again to check the screen every half minute, and then locked the screen once more. Every other minute, he couldn’t help but pick it up and unlock to check again.
Xia Tian looked at the phone, heartbroken, and slammed his chest. “Why am I so good for nothing?!”
Xia Tian recalled the ache after he calmed down. Just like a determined man, he turned off his mobile phone and threw it on the bed.
He refused to go to the study because he was afraid that Han Cheng would distract him when doing his homework. It was too unreasonable if he couldn’t calm down in his room. Xia Tian no longer thought about what happened in the afternoon, he rubbed his face and concentrated on the test papers.
For the final exams, Xia Tian didn’t want to let Han Cheng see his colorful test papers anymore. It might be difficult to improve his ranking, but he still wanted to make great progress.
He couldn’t let Han Cheng be ashamed of him every time.
Xia Tian calmed down. At ten o’clock, he successfully completed the comprehensive test paper.
Xia Tian did not dare to waste time. Since he wasn’t too sleepy at the moment, he took out the answer sheet and checked the test papers one by one and looked through them himself. He didn’t look at those he had done correctly as well as the ones that had careless mistakes. Instead, he marked all the wrongly done questions, studied the answers carefully and analysed the steps to solve them.
It took Xia Tian more than an hour for him to figure out the answers of the wrong questions.
There were still two small questions and one last question of a bigger question. Xia Tian changed to a colored pen and marked it again, intending to ask the teacher tomorrow.
Looking at the time, it was 11:45pm.
There was also an essay to complete.
Xia Tian got up, took his workbook and at the same time, a small box of cooling oil from his school bag.
All of Xia Tian’s classmates were using this cream-like medicinal oil. When burning the midnight oil, applying some of it on the acupuncture points helped to refresh one’s mind. This box was given by the girl who sat behind him in class.
Xia Tian dabbed a little on the center of his eyebrows and looked at the proposed composition title: Starting Point.
The topic was quite rigid and the limitations were small. It was very suitable for writing argumentative essays. After thinking about it, just as he was about to write, his door was knocked on several times.
Xia Tian, who was stunned, got up, hurriedly tidied up the tabletop, patted down his messy hair, walked to the door and slowly opened it.
“Was your phone dead?” Han Cheng frowned slightly. “What are you still doing at such a late time?”
Xia Tian looked at the house and suddenly said, “Oh. No, my phone still has battery. I had accidentally turned it off… You haven’t slept yet?”
“Saw that your room was lit up and tried calling your phone twice but it was turned off. I thought something might be wrong.” Han Cheng frowned, “It will be midnight soon, are you not going to class tomorrow?”
Xia Tian embarrassedly said, “I, erm… was doing homework. Really! you can check if you don’t believe me!”
Han Cheng didn’t enter Xia Tian’s room. He knew that for the past two days, Xia Tian had accompanied him and wasted time. In a deep voice, Han Cheng replied, “It’s okay if you can’t finish writing. I’ll call the teacher and explain things to her. Go to bed now.”
“I’ll be done very soon. You go to bed first.” Xia Tian stubbornly begged, “I’ll tolerate and write for another hour… My grades are already bad and if I can’t finish my homework, it won’t look good.”
Han Cheng frowned.
Xia Tian grimaced and said, “Besides, I deserve it. My mind wandered off for quite some time just now. Go to sleep. I’ll sleep soon.”
Han Cheng had to compromise and proposed, “Come to the study room to write, I’ll supervise you.”
Xia Tian leaned on the door, bowed his head and said vaguely muttered, “Just to supervise and we have to go to the study room? Can’t we do it here? It’s not like I’ll bite.”
Han Cheng nodded. “I know, but I might. After entering this room, I’m not sure if I’ll leave tonight.”
Han Cheng quietly looked at Xia Tian and asked, “Will you still let me in?”
Xia Tian paused and understood what Han Cheng meant. He lowered his head in embarrassment. “I-I’ll bring my books over…”
Han Cheng sneered inwardly. You little tease, I’m not even seducing you and you dare to rush and do it yourself.
Acting so recklessly.
In the study room, Xia Tian sat down and racked his brains. It was not sure where he came up with a sentence that seemed to be profound and wrote it as a caption, but it was actually a bunch of nonsense. With some inspiration, he managed to make up a foreigner’s name for the last sentence and successfully hit thirty words.
Han Cheng originally came to purely supervise him so as not to run off course and delay the progress, cutting into his rest time. But after staring at him for a few minutes, Han Cheng’s heart was in distress.
It was getting late and he had to go to work tomorrow. It was not easy for Xia Tian to come up with the introduction and he couldn’t really destroy it…
Han Cheng couldn’t bear to watch him anymore. Based on the principle of turning a blind eye, he turned on the computer and tried to find something to do.
After Xia Tian wrote the beginning, the following was much smoother. He used nearly ten similar sentences to re-emphasise his views in a magnificent manner.
Two hundred words were obtained.
Han Cheng dealt with a bit of the next day’s work. He took a moment to turn his head and glanced, and almost laughed out of ridiculousness.
Han Cheng smiled, shook his head, and continued to work.
Rubbing his eyebrows, Xia Tian’s expression was more solemn than Han Cheng. Now that he put forward his argument, he had to demonstrate it below. Xia Tian was well versed in essay routines, he scrutinized his intestines1A metaphor to rack his brains; thinking hard and named out historical celebrities who were slightly related to his arguments. Naturally, he included Sima Qian2He was a Chinese historian of the early Han Dynasty. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sima_Qian, who was indispensable for high school writing.
Four hundred words were subsequently obtained.
Xia Tian took a deep breath. There were still two hundred words to go…
In Han Cheng’s point of view, Xia Tian didn’t move for a long time. Han Cheng thought he was finished, so he turned his head and glanced. Frowning a bit, he added, “Quickly write.”
Xia Tian propped his head with his hands, closed his eyes tiredly, and gave up. “I can’t continue on…”
Han Cheng was quite surprised. This kind of essay was unreasonable, illogical. The long and short sentences were piled up. Writing out such ideas, and he was still having troubles? How incredible.
“Read it through from start to finish and see if there is anything you can add.” Han Cheng ordered him, and then continued to work on his own.
Xia Tian was really sleepy. His mind was dull and he couldn’t think of anything at all. He regretted not writing the essay first and doing the test paper at the end. He wanted to sleep at first, but he was even sleepier after making up a few hundred words.
Han Cheng was different from him. In the past, it was common for him to spend all night completing his work. After the typical sleep time of eleven o’clock, the central nervous system would become excited, and his work efficiency was higher.
Xia Tian’s heart was itchy after observing Han Cheng concentrating on work.
Han Cheng sent an email, glanced at him when he replied, and saw that Xia Tian hadn’t written a word. He frowned slightly, and before he could speak, Xia Tian whispered, “Uncle Han… I’m so sleepy.”
Han Cheng felt the whole situation was funny. “Told you to go to sleep but you insisted on doing your homework. You’re now acting coquettish?”
“It’s not acting coquettish…” Xia Tian turned around and said with a cough, “Erm… please help me out.”
Han Cheng moved his gaze away from the computer screen and fell on Xia Tian’s eyes that were both anticipating and evading.
Han Cheng threw the mouse aside, leaned on the back of the chair and looked at Xia Tian. His mouth slowly raised.
He recently discovered more things about Xia Tian. His goodwill and shyness were both superficial. As long as he was not taught a lesson for a while, Xia Tian would come towards him, stubbornly thinking about taking advantage of him.
Boys who were in love for the first time had no doubts or hesitations and did not know how to protect themselves.
Han Cheng did not have the habit of going out of the bedroom in pajamas. Usually when he returned home, he would just take off his tie and change to a shirt with more comfortable material. Before going to bed, Han Cheng would always wear an attire suitable for attending a video conference at any time. At this moment, compared to Xia Tian who was in a baseball shirt and casual pants, Han Cheng was exuding the smell of forbidden desire.
For Xia Tian, there was nothing holding him back.
Han Cheng gently twisted the wedding ring on his left ring finger and smiled. “Help? How can I help?”
Xia Tian’s ears were red. He licked his lower lip, and uncomfortably replied, “You… look at it.”
Xia Tian felt that he had already hinted enough. Han Cheng would definitely be able to understand it. Give me a kiss and I won’t be sleepy!
“No. You better make it clear.” Han Cheng shook his head lightly and continued, “Xia Tian, this habit of letting the other party bid prices at will is undesirable. The other party understands your desires too much and it will only get worse after they decide for you what you want. “
Xia Tian was speechless. “I…”
“Besides, what is it you are asking me to take a look at? If it really depends on me…” Han Cheng glanced at Xia Tian from head to toe and said, “You may not be able to get out of this study today.”
Xia Tian’s face flushed.
Han Cheng was feeling very happy and added, “You might not be able to go to class tomorrow. Oh yes…”
Han Cheng smiled. “If you take sick leave and don’t go to class, naturally you don’t need to hand in your homework. This can be regarded as helping you by solving the root cause?”
“Or.” Han Cheng suggested again, “At that time, our marriage was a bit rough and many benefits were not enjoyed. In fact, you don’t need to take sick leave. Can you use your marriage leave? This will not affect your full attendance.”
Xia Tian covered his face, half-dead in shame. “Students don’t have marriage leave…”
“That’s a pity,” Han Cheng said quietly, “Then you can only ask for sick leave.”
“No, no.” Xia Tian shook his head vigorously, “No… I won’t trouble you. I’ll finish writing these few sentences and go to sleep soon.”
Han Cheng smiled with satisfaction. “I think you’re wide awake now. Continue writing.”
Han Cheng continued to be busy with his work.
Xia Tian’s face was like a red cloth. Emphasising the argument and raising it back to the point, he quickly summarised the full paragraph,… He couldn’t help snarling in his heart. Let you look for death, let you look for death! I can’t even say a word to make him feel shocked!
The highest level of adjustment was a piece of armor that could be killed without the use of a single soldier.
In desperation, Xia Tian had completed his eight hundred words essay. With a blushing face, he got up and said, “I’ve finished. Uncle Han, please head to bed early.”
Han Cheng acknowledged him with a “Yeah”, and Xia Tian anxiously walked off.3Sleepy wanna share: MTL is too funny not to share- “summer farts roll urine flow away.”LOLOL
