Han Cheng held Xia Tian’s hand in his and said, “If there are no other issues, we will take our leave.”

Xia Sisi was so embarrassed that she couldn’t raise her head and just shook her head repeatedly, “No, there are no issues here.”

“That’d better be the case.” Han Cheng pulled Xia Tian around, thinking about it for a moment and said, “It’s normal for Aunt to care about her nephew, but regarding this kind of issue, let’s not bring it up since Xia Tian is young, and you are still unmarried. Xia Sisi clenched her handbag tightly and nodded in embarrassment, knowing that Han Cheng was scolding her for being nosy.

Han Cheng abruptly stopped what he was saying, and without continuing further, took Xia Tian away.

“My work was completed ahead of schedule, so I came back. Seeing that the party was still ongoing, I wanted to try my luck.” Han Cheng smiled, “Fortunately it wasn’t too late. Happy birthday.”

“Thank you.” Xia Tian thought for a while and added, “I have seen all the presents. There were too… too many of them. You really didn’t have to spend that much… but thank you.”

Han Cheng was taken aback. He didn’t expose that it was Ruan Sihe who had gotten the gifts and just smiled and nodded, “As long as you like them.”

Han Cheng looked at the time and said, “Do you still want to continue to stay here or head home?”

Xia Tian was afraid that other incidents like Yaxin would repeat and hurriedly said, “Let’s head home.”

Han Cheng nodded, “Okay, I also want to head back early to rest. Just in time, let’s head home together.”

My assistant will occasionally stay overnight. These people, you don’t have to worry.” Han Cheng reminded, However, if anyone comes to the house, you still have to pretend, understand?”

Xia Tian nodded, “I understand.”

Han Cheng gently said, “Occasionally, we have to visit my mother. There are many people at her place, so when we’re there, we have to show our affection for one another.”

Xia Tian thought about it and remembered he had vaguely heard Zhou Yun say that Ruan Sihe was still living in the old house of the Han family. At first, he was worried that he would have to move in and live with his mother-in-law. After learning that he was to live with Han Cheng alone, he felt relieved.

Xia Tian promised, “Are… Are we leaving now? I’ll let my mother know.”

“I’ll accompany you.”

We understood each other’s intentions, but…” Han Cheng thought about it and said euphemistically, “My mother didn’t like the other party and his parent’s disingenuous behaviour. After tolerating it for a month, she gave me an ultimatum, saying that I must never marry such a person for the Han family.”

Xia Tian didn’t expect that kind and gentle Aunt Ruan would have such a tough side, and said, “So you listened to what Aunt Ruan said and refused the marriage?”

“At first, I didn’t.” Han Cheng smiled, “At that time, I was young and had a big temper. My only thought was to crush my opponents to death; I didn’t care about the rest. I had initially wanted to marry him first and announce it later, but…”

“Before getting married, I had asked my friends abroad to check the other party’s affairs when he had studied abroad… There were issues like bullying, drug abuse, escaping troubles…” Han Cheng grimaced, “He kept those matters very well hidden. Xia Tian sighed. If Han Cheng had really married that man, he wouldn’t have become the successful man that he was today.

She wanted me to find someone I really liked, but afterward, I wasn’t interested in any of the people I’d dated …” Cheng smiled at Xia Tian and continued, “She was afraid that I would again find another marriage candidate with a horrible character to marry. So after knowing that we were getting married, she was very happy and tried her best to make this happen. She likes you very much… but you don’t need to feel so pressured. She isn’t harbouring any intentions, just wanting me to take care of myself, and refrain from going down the wrong path.”

Xia Tian understood. He thought about it and tentatively said, “About that person…”

“Don’t worry, he won’t come and find trouble with you.” Han Cheng looked at the screen and said casually, “After explaining things to him clearly, he married someone else in less than three months. As his current wife is very controlling and forceful, he didn’t dare to tell others that he had history with me, otherwise, his wife would skin him alive.”

Xia Tian quietly breathed a sigh of relief.

The drive to Han Cheng’s home wasn’t far, but it required some time to get there. After a busy day, Xia Tian was exhausted and felt very sleepy. Before he could close his eyes and rest for a while, Han Cheng continued, “Besides, if you encounter any trouble like today, you don’t have to be afraid. You are legally now my wife. You should have more confidence than anyone. If someone provokes you, it’s good to fight back with confidence… If it’s about our relationship, you can lie about whatever you want to, and I will cooperate.”

Upon hearing that, Xia Tian coughed violently, and Han Cheng stared at him in confusion and comforted, “Don’t worry. Even if there are inconsistencies, I can help to salvage it back. I believe I am much better at lying compared to you.”

Xia Tian’s ears were reddening as he forced a smile and nodded to express his gratitude. He then turned his back to Han Cheng and looked out the window, screaming madly in his heart. what is this!?!?
