After finishing breakfast, Han Cheng left for work while Xia Tian went back to his room. Thinking about his assignment while holding onto his workbook, he finally and embarrassingly wrote a letter to Han Cheng.

The Chinese teacher would laugh when he saw it, right?

His grades were originally not good, and now he was causing trouble.

Xia Tian shook his head, changed his mind and earnestly wrote a letter to his mother.

After writing, he even made a call to her.

Zhou Yun happened to finish the work on hand. After hearing Xia Tian say that Han Cheng was not at home today, she came to pick up Xia Tian. The mother and son then went to have lunch together.

“What time did you go to bed last night?” Zhou Yun saw that Xia Tian’s dark circles under his eyes were a little greenish blue and asked with concern, “I know that your schedule is tight now, but don’t study too hard. It is now the weekend. Go to bed early and don’t stay up too late. ”

“Ha… Don’t mention it.” Xia Tian picked up the teapot and poured some tea into Zhou Yun’s cup. “Uncle Han came back late last night. I tossed and turned for a while… I couldn’t fall asleep until it was midnight.”

Zhou Yun slowly put down her chopsticks, took a sip from the teacup and asked, “He came home that late… Were you waiting for him?”

“I wasn’t waiting. I happened to hear him coming back and saw that he was a little drunk, so I warmed up with some milk. Then…” Xia Tian couldn’t explain it clearly, and smiled bitterly. “Anyway, I went to bed late last night and I almost got taught a lesson by Uncle Han .”

Zhou Yun frowned and hurriedly fired questions. “He taught you? How did he teach? Did he beat you?”

“No, no, no way.” Xia Tian was afraid that if he didn’t shut his mouth now, he would accidentally reveal the fake signature incident. He tried to make up for it and added, “It’s not a lesson… He has a good temper and has never spoken to me in a harsh manner.”

Because even though he did not raise his voice, he could still scare people to death.

Xia Tian silently added in his heart.

However, Xia Tian could feel Han Cheng’s patience and tolerance towards him. He was afraid of Zhou Yun misunderstanding the situation and quickly said, “He takes good care of me. Don’t worry.”

“How can I not worry?” Zhou Yun glanced at Xia Tian with concern, then softly said, “Actually, in the future, you don’t have to continue to live with him.”

Xia Tian raised his head, swallowed the food in his mouth, and asked, “I don’t have to live with him?”

“There are many couples that are living apart after marriage. For many reasons, such as, not to affect each other’s work or when one of them is not in good spirits and needs rest…” Zhou Yun shook her head, smiled and continued, “When feelings are weak, or there are no feelings at all, and they don’t want to or it is impossible to divorce, living together while having different dreams in the same bed will constantly be torture for each other. If you want to find a reasonable reason for separation, there will always be one. You are newly married, and others are concerned about it. So you have to live together but just wait for half a year to one year. When no one is paying any attention, it will not be noticeable when you move out… When there is a need, you can just move back again.”

Xia Tian dryly laughed, “That would be so troublesome.”

Xia Tian bowed his head to eat and said vaguely, “It’s good now. Uncle Han’s house is close to my school. It’s very convenient. Besides, our work and rest schedules are almost the same. We don’t affect one another that much.”

Zhou Yun sighed. She was worried in her heart, but she didn’t dare to say it. She was afraid that pointing it out would trouble him. Her biggest hope in these years was for Xia Tian to be happy. Seeing him so happy, it was difficult for Zhou Yun to speak out the worries that were infesting in her heart.

She could only laugh and continued, “As long as you think it’s good, it’s okay… Eat more.”

“So should you.” Xia Tian placed some food on Zhou Yun’s plate and laughed, “You have lost weight recently… Is it because you missed me? I will head back home for two days next weekend.”

“Okay, come back and I’ll make good food for you.” Zhou Yun smiled. She hesitated for a while and continued, “If Han Cheng is free, ask him to come as well… and let’s have a meal together.”

Xia Tian nodded. “Okay, I’ll go back and ask him if he’s free.”

In the evening, Han Cheng returned home as scheduled to accompany Xia Tian to have dinner.

The auntie who didn’t understand the situation thought that Xia Tian had spoken to Han Cheng last night to stop his playful ways and be more caring towards family issues. She was so happy that she cooked a few more dishes that both Han Cheng and Xia Tian ate till they were too full.

“Get your homework and come to the study.”

After reading the news of the day and sitting on the sofa for a while, Han Cheng put the tablet aside and talked to Xia Tian.

When Xia Tian first came to Han Cheng’s residence, he was terrified of hearing Han Cheng say this.

At that time, he was still thin-skinned, and he was extremely afraid that Han Cheng would see his various and huge stacks of practice work. Every time he handed the workbook to Han Cheng, he would be too ashamed and internally wanted to melt into the floor of the study room.

Later, he became thick-skinned and gradually got used to it. No matter how ingenious his answers were, Han Cheng would not have a mocking look on his face.

At most, whenever he made the same mistake twice, Han Cheng would gently warn him, “If you make a similar mistake again, you will be punished by copying.”

Xia Tian was not fearful of such punishment.

Gradually, he was not afraid to let Han Cheng check his homework.

At most, he would be punished by copying down the few formulas, and in that way it helped to deepen his memory. Without the initial restraint and embarrassment, asking for help was no longer a torture. On the contrary, Xia Tian now liked to be alone with Han Cheng, watching him check his homework and listening to him explain the topic to himself.

He even paid attention to writing neatly and nicely.

Han Cheng picked up Xia Tian’s composition and looked up at him. “Can this be checked?”

Xia Tian nodded hurriedly. “It’s okay to check.”

Han Cheng read Xia Tian’s composition once, corrected two typos for him, and then put the composition workbook aside to check Xia Tian’s paper exercises and so on.

Xia Tian’s homework was done very well. He carefully compared the answers and revised them in advance. The questions that weren’t the same were circled with colored pens. Han Cheng flipped through Xia Tian’s textbook, looked up and chuckled, “What are you doing standing so far? Come here, what do you not understand about this question?”

To start talking about a topic, it meant that he had passed the inspection. Xia Tian grinned, turned behind the desk, and joined Han Cheng to listen to his explanation.

Recently, Xia Tian’s grades had improved a lot, and there were not many questions that he couldn’t understand circled. In addition, Han Cheng had a clear understanding of the topics and was well organised. In less than an hour, he explained clearly the topics that Xia Tian had problems with.

Han Cheng drank half a cup of tea and said with a pleased look, “Recently, you have improved a lot.”

“Uncle Han, you taught well.” Xia Tian flattered unskillfully.

Han Cheng’s eyes twinkled with amusement. He looked at the time and said, “Let’s end early today, it’s the weekend anyway. Go play for a while. You still have class tomorrow.”

Xia Tian hesitantly asked, “Are you going to rest?”

“No.” Han Cheng shook his head. “There is something I need to handle. What’s wrong?”

Xia Tian tried to convince him. “Then can I continue reading here?”

Han Cheng smiled, “Of course.”

Xia Tian was inexplicably happy. He sat down and sorted out the incorrectly answered questions in his newly bought correction book while Han Cheng handled his own business by himself. The two of them were busy with their own affairs and did not affect each other.

At nine o’clock, Xia Tian went downstairs and cut some fruit to serve. Han Cheng ate a piece of apple and smiled lightly while looking at the computer screen. “Really filial.”

Xia Tian laughed. He looked at Han Cheng and suddenly remembered what Zhou Yun had mentioned to him during the day.

“Uncle Han, for me to live here… does it affect you?” Xia Tian couldn’t help but ask, “My mother said… After a year or half a year, everyone’s attention will dissipate, and we can actually live apart.”

Han Cheng looked at Xia Tian. “What? You want to leave before getting divorced?”

“No, no.” Xia Tian hurriedly explained, afraid of Han Cheng misunderstanding, “I am quite willing to be here, but I suddenly thought of whether my presence would affect you.”

Han Cheng clicked the mouse gently and said, “No, don’t worry, I am not a person who will compromise myself. It was well thought out when you moved here. You won’t hinder me while you’re here.”

Han Cheng thought for a while, fearing that Xia Tian in his rebellious period would be sensitive, he straightforwardly declared, “I like having you here.”

Han Cheng’s expression towards Xia Tian didn’t show any ambiguity, but the seeds in Xia Tian’s heart sprouted rapidly and suddenly a small flower bloomed.

Xia Tian’s face was a little hot. In his heart, he was jumping with joy but he was afraid that Han Cheng would see how happy he was, so he forced down his laughter and whispered, “Well, I… I like living here too.”

Xia Tian stared at the fruit plate on the table. With great determination, he promised, “I will always be filial to you!”

Han Cheng couldn’t help chuckling and joked, “Always? Three years from now? What about after we get divorced?”

Han Cheng smiled. Looking at Xia Tian, he continued, “At that time, you will be grown up, and I will be your ex-husband. If you don’t evade or avoid me, I will be content. How could I still expect you to be filial to me?”

The word “ex-husband” caused Xia Tian’s heartbeat to miss a beat, and he retorted in a low voice, “I won’t avoid you. Definitely not.”

Han Cheng was pleased and said, “That’s right… It seems that it’s worth worrying about you. I should treat you better in the future.”

Xia Tian was really embarrassed. Han Cheng smiled gently, “Don’t worry. In the future when you are all grown up and don’t want to contact me anymore, I will try my best to take care of you. After all, I can still help you, not just with schoolwork.”

Xia Tian hurriedly said, “I said I won’t avoid you!”

“Okay… Okay. You won’t avoid me.” Han Cheng smiled and nodded. “Then… I hope when there are business dealings again, Chairman Yan will not send you to talk to me… If the negotiator is you, I will probably lose money.”

Xia Tian’s heart throbbed, and his ears turned red in embarrassment.

Han Cheng turned off the computer and said, “Well, since you can’t read the book anymore, go to sleep.”

Xia Tian’s heart was warm. He got up to say goodnight to Han Cheng, and went to bed with his heart racing.

And yet he slept well that night.
