Chapter 11 – Just wait to be banned

“Alright, I won’t force you to drink anymore. How could I bully you? You’re the future male lead who will skyrocket in the entertainment industry!”

After drinking, Jia Chong became more talkative and boastful, bragging about various achievements.

However, he did have the financial resources and connections to boost Yan Shu’s popularity.

Wang Shigang observed the atmosphere at the table, knowing that the deal had been sealed. This kind of selling an artist wasn’t new to him, and he found an excuse to politely leave early.

Seeing Wang Shigang leave the private room, Yan Shu also tried to stand up but was pushed back down by Jia Chong.

“Hey! Are you always looking at your manager? Do you follow him even when he goes to the bathroom?”

“I’m telling you, you’re still inexperienced. You’re having dinner with me, but your mind is elsewhere. I’ve promised you resources, so you can’t take advantage and act coy.”

Jia Chong loved teasing kids at moments like this. As the alcohol took its effect, his words became rougher.

He picked up a dish and brought it to Yan Shu’s mouth, saying, “Good boy, open up. Come on~ I know you’re feeling dizzy and can’t pick up your chopsticks, it’s okay, let me feed you~”

As Jia Chong fed Yan Shu with his right hand, his left hand couldn’t resist reaching under the table, exploring Yan Shu’s inner thigh.

Yan Shu had already guessed this was a trap. When he went out for a walk in the morning, he bought a box of sobering medicine.

If he hadn’t taken the medicine early, he would now be at the mercy of others, like a fish on a cutting board.

His father had once said he was soft-hearted, often avoiding arguments and conflicts. But if the other party was bound to harm him, there was no need to endure.

When Yan Shu saw his manager leave so indifferently, the last trace of hope in his heart was completely extinguished.

How could he have any expectations for a greedy and heartless person?

When he was thrown into the wolves’ den like a piece of meat by Wang Shigang, he should be prepared for a tragic end.

The touch of Jia Chong’s hand on his thigh made his stomach churn. Perhaps it was the alcohol emboldening him, or maybe it was a strong stress response…

Just as Yan Shu felt Jia Chong was about to push further, he suddenly stood up and kicked Jia Chong in the chest.

He had to thank his recent dance training, which had strengthened his leg muscles to a certain extent. This kick left no room for mercy, landing solidly.

Jia Chong was already somewhat tipsy, his reactions and perceptions slower than usual. This sudden attack caught him off guard, and he couldn’t stabilize his body as he fell backward along with the chair. As he fell, his thighs parted, and without paying attention, a critical area hit the edge of the chair back.

“Ah—!!!!” A pig-like scream echoed from the private room.

No one had expected this scene to unfold. A small artist dared to kick his own benefactor. Was he no longer interested in staying in the industry?

Suppressing the nausea in his stomach, Yan Shu stepped over Jia Chong’s fallen body, preparing to rush towards the door.

“Stop him! Stop him!” The pain woke Jia Chong up completely.

Sweating profusely, he clutched his groin, trembling and rolling on the ground. Some people went to help him, while others tried to stop Yan Shu, creating chaos.

Quick on his feet, Yan Shu grabbed a bottle from the table and smashed it, pointing the jagged glass shards at these people.

There was a kind of wild beauty in the threat of “who dares to stop me, I’ll stab them with a broken bottle”.

The crowd took a few steps back, afraid of being pierced, thus leaving the position of the door of the private room empty.

“Yan Shu! If you… dare to step out of here, get ready to be blacklisted! Ah!” Enduring intense pain, Jia Chong’s voice was hoarse, filled with angry roars.

His face turned pale from the pain, but it didn’t stop him from launching a vehement tirade against Yan Shu.

“I promoted you! And you still bite the hand that feeds you. At this kind of dinner party, you’re still pretending to be high and mighty? You’re quite skilled at playing the victim!”

Jia Chong spat forcefully, but Yan Shu wasted no time. When the people trying to stop him backed off, he swiftly opened the door of the private room and ran out.

With a loud slam, the door cut off the insults that followed behind him.

Outside, two waiters stood startled by the sudden rush of the young man who ran out. Before they could even shout, the young man had disappeared.

In the luxurious hotel, a tender young white rabbit dashed around, desperately searching for the exit in a panic.

The moment he escaped from the gilded “cage”, cold air rushed into his lungs, causing Yan Shu to cough repeatedly and shiver uncontrollably.

Despite it being a clear evening, rain started to fall at that moment.

The winter rain was chilling, quickly ruining Yan Shu’s carefully styled hair.

In order to be packaged as a beautiful commodity by the talent agency, he had dressed particularly light today, feeling cold in his hands and feet within a minute of stepping out.

Having eaten spicy hot pot the day before and already feeling uncomfortable in the wee hours of the morning, he had further aggravated his stomach with strong liquor just now. Having barely eaten anything, his abdomen was now throbbing in pain.

Before heading out tonight, Wang Shigang had confiscated his phone.

He knew the manager was afraid he might contact his group members during the dinner, and also worried about any mishaps, so he was being closely monitored.

But Yan Shu had a trick up his sleeve. He had stashed a stack of cash in the inner pocket of his clothes.

In this modern society where having a phone is essential, having money on hand was never wrong when out and about.

He wouldn’t be in a situation like before where he couldn’t even afford a bowl of spicy noodles.

After receiving his salary for the month, he had exchanged some cash, finding it more reassuring to have it in his hand, and he was frugal in its use.

At this point, the manager probably already knew he had run off, and Yan Shu had no intention of going straight back to the company.

Thinking that the manager wouldn’t be able to contact him anyway, Yan Shu breathed a sigh of relief, grateful that the cunning manager had cleverly taken his phone.

He had run out in such a hurry that he only noticed he was still holding the broken glass bottle when he came out.

He found a bag near the trash can, wrapped the bottle securely, and sealed it before daring to throw it away. It was too sharp, and he hoped it wouldn’t cut the hands of the cleaners.

Feeling his slightly warm forehead, Yan Shu thought of the private hospital Yu Chenzhou had taken him to last time…

He remembered the address and decided to go there before his condition worsened. He hailed a taxi.

“Sir, please go to Jinhe Hospital. Thank you.”

In the speeding car.

Xiao Lin trembled as he held a clean white towel, stammering, “Xiao-ge, does it still hurt? It… it seems like it’s still bleeding.”

After asking this question, Xiao Lin mentally slapped himself.

Xiao-ge had fallen from the second floor during the fight scene, scraping off a large piece of skin from his left elbow, bleeding profusely. Could it not hurt?

The wound with exposed flesh had been briefly treated on set, and then the director had given Wei Tingxiao time off to quickly go to the hospital for a check-up, emphasizing the need not to be careless.

Wei Tingxiao still had a casual expression, his left arm injured but his right arm still functional. He had been scrolling on his phone non-stop since getting into the car.

Seeing his assistant’s worried expression, the great actor Wei gave a sidelong glance. “No need for a towel. I’m already wrapped in gauze, right? It’s just a bit of blood spilling out, nothing life-threatening. We still have some time before we reach the hospital. Can you stop talking for a bit and get some rest?”

Getting injured while filming action scenes was normal. This minor injury was just the most basic in his filming career.

In the past, getting a few stitches from the doctor, taking some antibiotics, and in a few days, he would be back to normal.

Wei Tingxiao, relying on his youth and resilience, acted recklessly in the scenes, causing the director to scold him as a crazy actor.

Originally, a stunt double was considered for him, but Wei Tingxiao had adamantly refused.

Perhaps due to his naturally dulled pain receptors, even when he had broken bones before, he didn’t find it particularly painful. All the pain fell within his threshold of tolerance, but it was easy to scare those around him.

Xiao Lin had been with him for a while now and still panicked in such situations, but thankfully, the assistant always listened to Wei Tingxiao.

When Xiao-ge told him to be quiet, he obediently stopped talking, but his eyes kept monitoring Wei Tingxiao’s arm.

【Wei Tingxiao Official Fan Group 1】—

【All-Nighter】: Just came online after working overtime. Looked through the previous messages. Can someone explain what happened this morning? Why is that blurred figure liking gege’s super topic like crazy?

【No Curfew】: Sister, you’re catching up late. He liked my post at 6:30. I almost had a heart attack.

【No Night Ban】: I was terrified too. I was in the middle of taking a dump! Saw this, cursed “roll” three times in the bathroom!

【Rising to the Night Skies】: Do you think it was an accidental slip?

【Xiaoxiao gege’s Eyelashes】: Can an accidental slip like all the posts?

【All-Nighter】: …

【No Curfew】: Probably did it on purpose, pretending to be gege’s fan, liking the posts of the Deep Night Sisters, and then trying to start up hype.

【No Night Ban】: Hmph! Luckily, we’re smart. Immediately deleted the post. We won’t let him piggyback on this topic!

【No Curfew】: Yes, fortunately, those getting likes are the active Deep Nights in our group. Let’s keep it within our small circle. Don’t spread it outside; getting involved with such a negative reputation idol won’t end well.

【Rising to the Night Skies】: Got it! Won’t spread it, won’t even let Xiaoxiao gege know! Gege has so many devoted fans, we don’t need that one blurred figure!

Xiaoxiao gege, who was already aware of the whole process: “…………”

The fact that Wei Tingxiao had sneaked into the fan group using an alias was unknown even to his manager.

Or one could say, he shamelessly searched his own name, using a fake account to interact closely with fans, blending in with the Deep Nights.

Basically, he understood all the inside jokes fans shared.

But in the fans’ minds, their gege was still the one who only loved acting and never paid attention to outside gossip, the 2G network player.

Little did they know that a shameless person had long been lurking in the group, daily listening to various versions of self-aggrandisement.

He could calmly read through the various flirtatious messages from fans in private.

However, the situation today was truly unprecedented for him. After a whole day of filming, he had just found out that an idol had continuously liked several Weibo posts from fans in his super topic.

Wei Tingxiao didn’t believe this was a directive from the idol’s management company. After all, which management company would dare to shamelessly market using his name without any reservations?

And in such a nonsensical way at that.

  1. That idol your fans are talking about is your future lover who just found out that you are famous. Also I think you are going to be meeting each other in the hospital. So I wonder if Wei Tingxiao is going to find out what happened to Yan Shu?
