Chapter 14 – Not Satisfied

Edited by: umamin

On the day that they went to the amusement park, Qi Qianze picked Fu An up at his apartment complex.

It wasn’t impossible to drive a car into Fu An’s neighborhood, but it needed a lot of skill. Furthermore, it was easy to enter but difficult to exit. Getting in and out, not counting the time spent out of the car waiting for Fu An, would probably take a little under half an hour.

Considering this, Qi Qianze chose to walk in himself.

He hadn’t come into the neighborhood with Fu An before, so he didn’t know which building he lived in. He could only wait on one of the roads that Fu An would definitely have to pass, standing at the side of the road under a streetlight.

Qi Qianze wore regular, casual clothes for going to the amusement park. In his arms he cradled a small bunch of flowers. When he rolled up his sleeve to look at his watch, he tucked the bouquet into the crook of his elbow. With his head lowered, seen from far away, he looked like a boy softly smelling the flowers. The contrast in that scene gave it a sense of cuteness. Fu An could even hear a few girls behind him whispering about that person under the streetlight.

Fu An lowered his eyes and looked at his own outfit, and felt that it matched Qi Qianze’s quite well. He stuck his hands in his pockets and quickened his pace, and just when those girls were saying, “I really want his contact info,” he waved at Qi Qianze.

Qi Qianze was like a Superman who had received some sort of energy wave induction1Some sort of telepathy. He raised his head just at this moment, and waved properly back at Fu An.

Fu An no longer cared about the girls behind him and walked forward a few more steps: “For me?”

“En.”

Qi Qianze glanced behind Fu An and made eye contact with one of the girls. They instantly lowered their heads, then continued to secretly watch him and Fu An. Qi Qianze then immediately understood. He turned his head and didn’t look anymore, and said to Fu An: “For you. I missed you.”

Fu An originally had intentions of wanting to make him say that, but in his heart he wasn’t really expecting that Qi Qianze would definitely be able to tell. Now, suddenly hearing this I missed you, he’d been hit right on target. A warmth suddenly surged to his face. From his ears to his cheekbones, he grew very, very hot.

Fu An took the flowers, and softly said: “Thank you.”

Qi Qianze was very direct and pulled him very naturally. He said: “Why are you being so polite?”

Fu An felt the flower stems through the layer of plastic. He glanced at him and wanted to say “I wasn’t,” but was met with Qi Qianze’s slightly turned face. His eyes seemed to be amused, but Fu An didn’t know exactly what it was about him that Qi Qianze found so funny.

Fu An pouted slightly and turned his eyes away, but the corners of his lips still hooked upwards.

The amusement park was one of the top ten spots for couples to visit on dates. It wouldn’t be exaggerating to say that the crowds were like mountains and seas of people2A common saying, more literally: human mountains and human seas. Even though Qi Qianze specifically picked a weekday to go, the amount of guests didn’t lessen much.

Qi Qianze and Fu An waited in line for the ticket checkpoint at the front gate for nearly twenty minutes before finally entering.

Fu An’s distinguishing features were fair skin and a high nose bridge. Described that way, it was hard not to think he had European features, but really, his features leaned more Asian. If he quietly gazed at the sky3Lit. didn’t speak and tilted his face 45 degrees to look at the sky, he seemed to have the air of a literary scholar. Put simply, it was clean and clear.

He walked in front. Qi Qianze could tell he was happy but still a bit nervous, probably because he still hadn’t figured out how to interact with him as they were now, and was afraid of making the same mistakes again4Lit. stepping back onto the track of the overturned cart. So he’d kept a tight lid on all of his emotions. He was very careful when he was happy, and he didn’t dare to be too clingy. It all had a very cautious feeling.

In this place filled with lovey-dovey couples, Fu An and Qi Qianze were separated by one meter. With one walking in front, and the other behind, their image seemed to carry a strange sense of loneliness, like they’d had an argument and were in the middle of a cold war.

Qi Qianze slowed his steps, watched Fu An walk further and further away from him, until there were about ten meters between them, then suddenly called out to Fu An.

Fu An heard him and turned around, then heard a kacha sound–––Qi Qianze had taken a photo of him.

In the lens, Fu An looked very silly. With eyes slightly widened, caught just at the moment when he’d been bewildered from hearing Qi Qianze call him, it was simply a face full of confusion, without any other emotion.

Qi Qianze waved his phone at him, and said: “I took a picture for you.ā€œ

Fu An subconsciously heard his words, and took on a surprised stance, which was recorded by Qi Qianze.

“How is it?” Qi Qianze walked over, showed the phone to him, “Silly, right?”

Fu An glanced at it. He did like it, but outwardly he didn’t seem to be very interested. Qi Qianze then gave him the phone, letting him take a picture of them both.

Fu An was clearly very happy with the idea of a picture together, but when he raised the phone to take a few, he kept feeling that no matter how they were taken they weren’t satisfactory, no matter how they were taken they weren’t good to look at.

“Do you want to find someone to help?” Qi Qianze asked.

Fu An thought a bit, but just as he was about to say something, his forehead was suddenly pressed and he was wrapped in Qi Qianze’s arms.

“Hey, Qi Qianze, wait……”

His cheek felt a warmth as warm, damp breath misted over his face. That familiar breath dazed him and put him into the kind of trance where he didn’t know where he was or what he was doing. He hadn’t reacted yet when he heard the sound of the phone taking another picture.

“Done,” Qi Qianze glanced at it, and smiled, “Got it.”

In this picture, Qi Qianze took up most of the frame. His eyes were closed and he softly pressed against Fu An’s cheek, with a warm and gentle expression. The physical sensation was the same, Fu An himself knew. And from the cover of shadows, Fu An himself only showed a small portion of his face. He didn’t have his eyes closed, but from the angle, it looked like he was squinting his eyes into little lines, all the emotions contained within shadowed under his long eyelashes. His expression under Qi Qianze’s shadow was extremely ambiguous, and seemed deeply intoxicated, soft and sweet as honey5Lit. soft and sweet as water.

This expression had a vague, dreamlike sense. It could be said to move the heart, and could also be said to move the kidneys6Kidneys are associated with sexuality, so this also means erotic, like a playboy in a brief moment of real emotion.

But regardless of whether it was Qi Qianze or Fu An, they could both see how sincere the other was, especially Qi Qianze, because Fu An’s earlobes were extremely red.

“Satisfied?” Qi Qianze released him, then extended his hand and stroked the area he’d just kissed with his fingertips, “Warm.”

“Not satisfied.”

Fu An didn’t look at him, walking forwards with his head lowered. Then, he heard Qi Qianze ask from behind him: “Not satisfied? Do you want to find someone to take a photo of us again?”

Fu An shook his head, and when Qi Qianze caught up to him Fu An pulled his hand and whispered: “I definitely won’t take it again.”
