Song Yi came to his senses and snatched the phone back. However, Shen Li’s weibo message had disappeared from the list.”What are you doing?”
“I hate that he’s sending you a message.” Gu Xingchuan held no guilt at all.
Song Yi held the phone tightly as he glared at him. “Still, you can’t just block him.” Gu Xingchuan nodded without sincerity. “Sorry, I won’t do it next time.”
Song Yi adjusted his glasses, calling for patience as he decided to clarify the matter, so as not to have another conflict over Shen Li. “I no longer like Shen Li. But as I have known him for many years, I simply regard him as an ordinary friend.”
Gu Xingchuan narrowed his eyes and pinched Song Yi’s cheek angrily. “I don’t like the way you talk to him.”
Song Yi gently patted the back of his hand; Gu Xingchuan reluctantly let go. Song Yi calmly continued, “Shen Li helped me before. You also know the situation of my family when I was in high school. I was a freshman in high school and my dad was seriously ill. It was Shen Li who gave him 50,000 yuan to relieve our urgent need. I will always remember his help, so whatever the areas I can help him with, I will do so.”
Even if Shen Li later proposed to use this as an exchange for a place in university. Song Yi didn’t care about it. His family couldn’t afford the high consumption of the fees, hence giving to Shen Li was also fine.
Gu Xingchuan glanced at Song Yi, snorted and turned away, dissatisfied. “He has such a good business mind. To use 50,000 yuan to buy a totally devoted Song Yi.”
Song Yi lowered his head and gave a helpless smile.”That’s now the past. What remains is only thankfulness and friendship towards him. You don’t have to be so sensitive.”
Gu Xingchuan turned to look at him, raising his chin arrogantly. “Even if you can let him, he may not want to release you. The way he looks at you is not normal.”
Song Yi found it funny. How could the way Shen Li looked at him not be normal? If Shen Li really liked him, they would have already gotten into a relationship. Why would there be a need to wait until he had a fiancé? The chrysanthemum flowers have already wilted.1Implying virgin youths are no longer virgins.
Though it was not dark yet, Gu Xingchuan’s parents had returned.
Gu Xingchuan’s mother had not changed much from his memory. She still held the same gentle and elegant temperament, with nary a wrinkle in sight. She wore a jade green skirt, with a graceful figure and white silk gloves on her hands, looking too similar to those models on World Illustrated.
Gu Shaoyuan followed behind her. With the two standing together, it was a sight for the eyes.
The family, plus Song Yi, a foreign guest, sat together and had dinner.
Mother Gu was in a good mood. She looked at Song Yi with a smile and said, “Our family’s baby has finally learned to take care of his friends now. He told me early in the morning that you can’t eat spicy food, that dinner must be light.”
“Sorry for bothering you, Auntie.” Song Yi was embarrassed and glanced at Gu Xingchuan sitting opposite him. Gu Xingchuan blinked slowly.
“It’s not troublesome.” Mother Gu looked at Gu Xingchuan and said with a smile, “He ah, he only cares about himself and never thinks about others…”
Gu Shaoyuan coughed and put down his chopsticks. He glanced at Song Yi with an unclear meaning in his eyes. “Xingchuan’s friend is present. Don’t criticize him at the dinner table.”
Mother Gu didn’t notice his look. As she poured scented tea into her cup, she said, “Xiao Songyi2 Little Song Yi. knows what kind of person he is. They have known each other for many years.”
Gu Xingchuan’s face darkened and he ate his meal with his head down.
Song Yi laughed dryly and pretended not to hear anything.
Gu Shaoyuan looked at Mother Gu and mentioned in a friendly tone, “Look what you’re saying about your child. At least he has a career. He hasn’t asked us for a penny in the past few years. Unlike the others surrounding him, who just rely on their parents. Just this alone is much better than those around him.”
Mother Gu looked at him strangely and said thoughtfully, “Didn’t you dislike him singing?”
Gu Shaoyuan stayed calm. “I don’t support it, but it’s not too bad for him like this either. In fact, I’m very happy that he doesn’t have the bad habits of the rich second generation. He never drinks, never race cars, never has any messy relationships with the opposite sex. Just that his temper is bad. But, he always has a clear line, just like when I was young. ”
Gu Xingchuan raised his head in surprise. He had never heard Gu Shaoyuan praise him before. This was an unprecedented move.
Song Yi agreed. Although Gu Xingchuan had many problems, he didn’t have any a second-generation rich man would have. His personality was very straightforward, and everything was written on his face, making it easy to get along with him.
“That’s true.” Mother Gu smiled heartily, eyes curved. “Like you, he is very loyal to his friends. The Ding family’s young master was bullied and our Xingchuan helped avenge him. That person who was beaten…”
“Ahem…” Gu Shaoyuan pinched the bridge of his nose before looking at Song Yi, and explained with a smile, “The boy from the Ding family was our neighbor before. A friend who was wearing a pair of pants was pickpocketed by a black man in Seattle. Our Xingchuan helped him find his wallet and taught the robber a lesson. ”
He was sighing helplessly, yet had a proud look on his face.”This child has always spoken about loyalty. Towards his brothers and friends, he is exceedingly righteous. No one can control him.”
Gu Xingchuan seemed to understand what was going on. He glanced at Gu Shaoyuan, lowered his head and smiled faintly.
Song Yi didn’t know why Gu Shaoyuan suddenly mentioned these things, and nodded in agreement. “What Uncle means is that Xingchuan is a very loyal person.”
Mother Gu took a slow sip of tea and said, “You’re happy that he won, but don’t forget that he laid in the hospital and was stabbed for a friend. He lost so much blood, I was so scared to death.”
She patted her chest fearfully as she complained to Gu Xingchuan, “I really hope you’ll be obedient and don’t think you’re invincible.”
Gu Shaoyuan smiled and said, “He is an Alpha. That’s how he should be.” He whispered something to the middle-aged man standing behind him. The man nodded and retreated.
After a while, the man held a wooden tray and placed it in front of Song Yi. On it lay a beautifully wrapped gift box, wrapped with a white ribbon, luxurious and beautiful.
Song Yi was flattered, and Gu Shaoyuan motioned for him to take a look. Song Yi carefully lifted the lid of the box, revealing a metal watch with a complicated dial with artistic style and shape. It was the style of a masterpiece, the kind that looks expensive at first glance.
Gu Shaoyuan smiled. “I heard from Xingchuan that you’re visiting today. I have nothing much to give you but I hope you like this watch.”
“Thank you Uncle and Aunt for troubling.” Song Yi gracefully closed the gift box, thinking about checking how much this cost, intending to transfer the money to Gu Xingchuan. He hoped it wouldn’t be too expensive.
Mother Gu beamed. “If you like, you can come visit our home more often. It’s rare for Xingchuan to bring friends home.”
Gu Shaoyuan nodded. He looked at Gu Xingchuan for a moment, and smiled slightly, “Xingchuan, you’ve been doing well recently. Do your best.”
Gu Xingchuan put down his chopsticks, glanced at Song Yi, and said “hmm” meaningfully.
After dinner, the housekeeper took Song Yi to a cleaned guest room, which was separated from Gu Xingchuan’s room by a wall. The room had a small terrace and across the blue sea water, the high-rise buildings in Seattle were like distant mirages.
The dark night sky, shining stars, and gentle breeze left the night quiet and chilly.
Song Yi tossed and turned on the soft big bed like pancakes, but he couldn’t fall asleep. His eyes were wide open.
Habit was a terrible thing. During this period, he slept with Gu Xingchuan every day without shame, having him hug from behind. But now that there was no one behind him, he couldn’t sleep.
Song Yi tried to calm himself down and silently recited the meditation mantra. Gradually, sleep came over him and he almost dozed off.
At this moment, there was a “bang” on the terrace. A strong black shadow climbed over the railing of the terrace, accurately landing on the floor.
The black shadow rushed to the bed, with cold air all over his body, and climbed onto the bed without saying a word, half-squinting his dark eyes, looking down at Song Yi.
Song Yi yawned and saw Gu Xingchuan wearing short-sleeved shorts through the moonlight. The temperature in Seattle was quite low at night. He was really in good shape, not feeling cold at all. “What are you climbing over the fence in your own home?”
Gu Xingchuan lay down next to him, his cold arms familiarly wrapping around Song Yi’s waist. Song Yi shivered and was mistaken for trying to avoid it. Gu Xingchuan tightened his arms, pressing tightly against Song from behind. He slowly explained, “Since you’re pretending to be my friend, of course I can’t walk through the front door to meet my secret lover.”
Song Yi laughed aloud. How small-minded. He had never seen an Alpha who was as small-minded as him before. “As long as you are not afraid of falling.”
Gu Xingchuan ran his slender fingers through Song Yi’s hair, twisting and curling it like a playtoy. His voice was low. “Song Yi, I just saw something in my room before going to bed.”
“What?” Song Yi yawned.
The light in front of him brightened. Gu Xingchuan had turned on his bedside lamp. Song Yi heard the rustle of paper unfolding. Gu Xingchuan’s voice was particularly clear in the dark as he read with emotion, “Hello Classmate Shen Li. Today, I saw you crying when you failed the physical fitness test. I’m as sad as you. Maybe you don’t believe it, but whenever I see your crystal clear eyes eroded by tears, I want to bear all of your pain for you……”
“Stop reading it…” Song Yi reached out, wanting to grab and destroy it. This was written for Shen Li on the eve of his graduation. He had placed it in his desk pocket and couldn’t find it thereafter. So it seemed Gu Xingchuan had taken it away.
At that time, he was filled with youthful passion when writing it. But now when he listened to those words, he could not stand it. How could he have written such a sour and mushy thing before?
Gu Xingchuan pinched his wrist and stated firmly, “Geographers say that the smallest sea in the world is the Sea of Marmara, but I think it’s your eyes instead.”
Song Yi blushed with embarrassment and wished he could cover himself up. “Stop reading it.”
“No.” Gu Xingchuan coldly refused and sneered. “It’s so well written. Better take the time to appreciate it.”
“And I am willing to be your sailing vessel on the sea, raising my white sails and sailing freely in the depths of your eyes.”
Song Yi really couldn’t listen anymore. He was like Sun Wukong who was bound by the cursed chants. He was so embarrassed that he sat up from the bed and covered Gu Xingchuan’s lips with his hand. Looking at Gu Xingchuan in front of him, he surrendered. ” Stop reading it.”
The moist and hot touch in his palm of the hand was light, as if it had been touched by a feather. Gu Xingchuan’s slender and beautiful eyes were slightly squinted, and his eyelashes were dense and long under the light. Song Yi was startled, pulled back his hand, and wiped it on his clothes.
Gu Xingchuan licked his lips with unfinished thoughts. He leaned over and sniffed Song Yi’s cheek as he stated, “Fine. Forget about it… We have the same body wash, but why are you this fragrant?”
Song Yi couldn’t smell what was on him, and he didn’t notice the danger in those words. “Maybe I took a while in the bath.”
“Really?” Gu Xingchuan turned his head to stare at him. In an instance, he pounced on Song Yi, unbuttoning the buttons that were in the way, chuckling, “I don’t believe it. Let me check what you actually used.”
Song Yi was startled and reminded in a low voice, “Uncle and Aunt are here!”
Gu Xingchuan tapped at Song Yi’s soft lower lip and lustfully traced them with his fingertips. “So don’t disturb them when they sleep. Be good.”
