Since young, Shen Li was always cherished and protected. Alphas flocked to him, and everyone listened to him. No one was ever this fierce to him.
He straightened up as his face flamed. Afraid yet angry, the area surrounding his eyes was flushed. Originally he was brought up being protected and pampered. His skin was extremely thin. With him like this, it gave off some feeling of helplessness.
Song Yi couldn’t stand an Omega looking at him like this. His heart softened weak, and his sympathy surged. He touched the hem of Gu Xingchuan’s T-shirt and said, “I want to eat steamed sea bass.”
Gu Xingchuan turned his head to look at him. He squinted his eyes, sat down, picked up a chopsticks, then dropped it into Song Yi’s bowl. In an ugly tone, he instructured, “Eat then.”
Shen Li lowered his head. He carefully pulled out a few paper towels, wiped the tea stains on his body as his eyelashes trembled. His lips trembled, and his body rose and fell as he breathed.
After a while, a sweaty Zhou Moquan returned, his head blazing hot under the scorching summer heat. Two bottles of drinks were placed on the table.
“Xiao Li, you wanted lime juice.”
Zhou Moquan put a bottle of flower fruit tea on the turntable of the dining table, glanced at Song Yi, stated with a steady smile, “No sugar. Did I remember correctly?”
Song Yi was surprised. He glanced at the colorful flowers and fruits in the glass, but shook his head and declined. He pointed to the teacup next to himself. “Thank you, but I’ll just drink water.”
Gu Xingchuan glanced between the two of them, reached out and gently pinched Song Yi’s cheek. He said warmly, “You’re really easy to rear.”
When one listened in, it was as if this couple were in love.
Zhou Moquan’s eyes instantly turned turbulent.
Gu Xingchuan turned the Lazy Susan with one hand. He reached out to take the fruit tea, unscrewed the bottle cap, took a gulp, then casually threw it. The bottle formed a gorgeous parabola, accurately falling into a trashcan not far away.
“Disgusting.”
Zhou Moquan glanced at the bottle in the trash can, then glanced back at Gu Xingchuan. Gu Xingchuan jutted his chiseled jaw, like an arrogant male peacock, declaring his challenge.
Zhou Moquan sat down beside Shen Li without saying a word. Shen Li took a straw to sip his drink, and peered about clouded eyes.
This meal was an uncomfortable one. Song Yi had no appetite and didn’t eat much.
After dinner, Song Yi and Gu Xingchuan went to the front desk to pay the bill. The sun was setting outside, and the last twilight of the sunset was left. The red desert was beautiful and vast, as the street was shining brightly.
The evening wind blew across the scene, its beauty flawless.
Song Yi was about to get in the car when Shen Li pushed open the glass door of the dining room and followed behind them. Song Yi turned his head when he heard a voice. He frowned.
“Song Yi, can I have a chat with you alone?” With red eyes, Shen Li pretended to be strong while his hands dug into his pockets.
“No.” Gu Xingchuan lowered the car window bearing a cold expression. “Say what you want here.”
Song Yi did not move. He looked at Zhou Moquan who was not far away, and sensibly acquiesced to that.
Shen Li took a deep breath. His head drooped as he smiled a little, and looked back up at Song Yi. “I’m sorry, Song Yi.”
Song Yi raised his hand to touch Shen Li’s hair, but stopped in mid-air. Instead of continuing, he changed his movement to straighten Shen Li’s disheveled shirt collar. “There’s nothing to be sorry about, Xiao Li. Don’t be so sad. I only want you to be happy.”
Shen Li rubbed his red eyes. “Can you forgive me for what I did?”
Song Yi felt that this question was strange. Still, he shook his head, and avoided the heavy stuff. “Xiao Li, I believe you won’t do anything that would make me disappointed in you.”
Shen Li paused, quickly wiped away the tears from the corners of his eyes, and stretched out his arms to Song Yi. “I won’t let you be disappointed in me. Can you give me a friendly hug then?”
Song Yi hesitated for a moment. A harsh horn sounded from behind him. Gu Xingchuan looked impatient and mocked back, “Want me to hug you instead?”
Song Yi felt it was comical. He patted Shen Li on the shoulder. “Your fiancé is waiting for you. He treats you so preciously. He’ll get jealous.”
Shen Li’s hands hovered in the air, and were stiffly retracted back.
Song Yi didn’t say any more and got into the car. Gu Xingchuan kept a sullen face, silent all the way until they returned to the hotel room in town.
It was already seven in the evening. Song Yi entered the room and turned on the lights in the room. It was a large suite, decorated in a very American style, mixed with some Mediterranean flair. He opened the window and leaned to its side. The evening wind blew through the strands of his hair, improving his mood after that incident with Shen Li.
He, as a person, was always pragmatic. Once Song Yi realised Shen Li was interested in him during high school, he chased after Shen Li for so many years. Just like a fishing bait hooking onto him, he worked tirelessly for Shen Li, falling deeply in love with him.
Unexpectedly, during graduation, Shen Li had refused his confession. He could only accept it. However, after six years, Shen Li’s attitude towards him was still ambiguous. With such an attitude, he couldn’t figure out whether Shen Li liked him or not, or whether he had ever liked him.
If he did like him, how could it turn out like this?
Gu Xingchuan had parked the car. As soon as he entered the room, he saw Song Yi’s thin and slender back. The setting sun’s rays wrapped about Song Yi’s whole body, as if a golden halo was encompassing him, portraying a rather peaceful atmosphere.
His heart moved, and he hugged Song Yi from behind. Being taller than Song Yi, Gu Xingchuan only needed to bend slightly for his chin to rest on Song Yi’s shoulder. “What are you looking at?”
“Sunset. “Song Yi’s words were simple yet filled with meaning.
Gu Xingchuan curled his lips and remained silent for a while. He hummed, feeling a little awkward. “You’re really gentle towards Shen Li.”
Song Yi sighed softly, turned his head and closed the gap. “Shen Li is an Omega. It’s proper to be nice to him. Unlike yourself.”
“What’s wrong with me?” Gu Xingchuan was dissatisfied, his sharp eyes staring down at him.
Thinking about the previous years, Song Yi was in a mood to tease. “Do you still remember during our school days when Shen Li asked you to send him home?”
Gu Xingchuan tilted his head and thought for a while. There was a vague impression of it. “Can’t remember too clearly.”
Song Yi couldn’t help but chuckle. “Shen Li wanted you to take him home, but you said it was far away and you were going to play golf, so you gave Shen Li a hundred dollars and asked him to take a taxi back home by himself.”
At that time, Song Yi happened to be at the school gate. Initially, Shen Li was planning to sit in Gu Xingchuan’s car. Because of this, he flared up. As a result, Song Yi was rather amused by Gu Xingchuan.
Luckily, there was no such phrase of ‘a straight man of steel’ yet. If there was, Song Yi would definitely paste that label onto Gu Xingchuan.
Gu Xingchuan was slightly embarrassed. He looked at Song Yi with a frown before tilting his head to kiss Song Yi’s lips. “Was it that funny?”
”Really funny.” Song Yi thought to himself, if Shen Li had Weibo, he would definitely tag you under a Straight Man bot.
Gu Xingchuan snorted. He rubbed Song Yi’s body using his hands, licked Song Yi’s lips, and said in a low voice, “If it were changed to you.. If you want to go to the moon, I’ll give NASA money to send you there.”
Song Yi’s back froze. The memory of last night was vivid and deep. If it happened again, he would not be able to get out of bed. He forced a nonchalant smile. “I won’t need to go to the moon. I’ll take a shower now.”
“I’m not stopping you.” Gu Xingchuan glanced at him. That drop dead gorgeous face curled its lips lecherously. “Or are you implying you wanted to bathe with me?”
“You’re overthinking things.” Song Yi pushed away from his embrace, and walked into the bathroom without looking back.
He turned on the shower head, poured warm water on his body, and watched the fog rising around him.
“Huh?” He belatedly pressed against the edges of the wet mirror.
Fuck. He initiated another night.
During the time he and Gu Xingchuan were living together, they slept in his bed, and he got used to sleeping beside him. Hence, during traveling, it was a matter of fact to share a room.
But last night they had already…
Song Yi’s forehead throbbed under those troubled thoughts. He touched the bathroom tiles, cheeks slightly hot, and he took a few deep breaths. Was it possible that subconsciously he really wanted to be sex friends with Gu Xingchuan?
Song Yi didn’t think he was such an unscrupulous person. Before, he declared to Gu Xingchuan that he would never attack his old classmates; rabbits never eat the grass near their nests.
Now that it had come to this, the responsibility could not be shifted to Gu Xingchuan alone. This was consensual.
Song Yi turned on the faucet and washed his face. He said seriously to the mirror. “I can forgive you for wavering this time. But you can’t use this as an example next time, alright?”
He nodded his head, promising to himself.
Song Yi put on his pajamas and walked out, wiping his loose and slightly damp hair with one hand.
Gu Xingchuan was lazily leaning sideways on the balcony to make a phone call, with an absent-minded expression on his face. Hearing the sound of footsteps, he looked up. His eyes narrowed at Song Yi, and he let out a long, bored “oh”.
Song Yi opened his thin Apple notebook and put it on the table, connected to the hotel’s wireless network, and selected some travel photos.
Gu Xingchuan was on the phone for about ten minutes.
Being quite close, Song Yi vaguely heard Gu Xingchuan say, “I’m not going back…. You all can decide on the steps…. what farting apology letter…”
He had no intention of inquiring into other people’s privacy. Though curious for a moment, he focused on doing his own thing.
At this time, a real-time Weibo news window popped up on his webpage.
“Gu Xingchuan swiped and liked on Zhou Moquan’s breaking Weibo post.”
Song Yi froze for a moment, not knowing whether to laugh or cry as he clicked on it. The hot topic was a Weibo screenshot, a leaking marketing account, which was posted half an hour ago. “It is said that ZMQ kicked Bai Fumei, who had been with him for two years, and got next to an even more awesome socialite in the family. ZMQ’s little boy is quite capable. ”
Below was a thumbs-up by Gu Xingchuan’s Weibo ID.
Song Yi clicked on the comment and glanced at it. Gu Xingchuan’s fans had already controlled the comment. He couldn’t see anything else other than high praises and a single, “If he says it was a slip of hand to Like the post, why is he on Zhou Moquan’s post in the first place?”
Song Yi knew very well whether Gu Xingchuan’s hands were clumsy or not. He sighed inwardly, leaned against the balcony door with his arms folded, and looked at Gu Xingchuan’s tall and straight back.
He waited for Gu Xingchuan to hang up the phone. Gu Xingchuan turned his head to look over to Song Yi.
Song Yi shook his head helplessly and scolded, “Don’t do such a thing in the future. So childish.”
Gu Xingchuan raised his eyebrows, unwilling to bend. “It’s not as if they’re fake.”
Song Yi took off his glasses and pinched the bridge of his nose. “It’s not a question of authenticity.”
He thought for a while, decided to have a good talk with Gu Xingchuan. He softened his tone. “I know you look down on him but not everyone in this world can be like you. Zhou Moquan’s parents passed away early, and he was fostered by his relatives since he was a child. He is very good at understanding people’s emotions. He pays more attention to fame and fortune than ordinary people. You can imagine, he is the opposite of you, you have everything he dreams of.”
Song Yi sighed in his heart, “You have to understand this kind of person. They have their own way of life. When I met him, he was that kind of person, but I never looked down on him. It’s his own choice. Seeking benevolence; as long as he has a clear conscience.”
Taking into account Gu Xingchuan’s family, he doesn’t need to look at other people’s faces, and he never knew what it was like to look at other people’s faces. He lived a very arrogant, willful and savage life, and he could do whatever he wanted. This world would pave the way for him.
Gu Xingchuan stared at Song Yi for a few seconds, before shifting his head away. He said bluntly, “You speak up for others. Fine, it’s all my fault.” He took his clothes and rushed out towards the door.
Song Yi looked at his back, feeling exasperated yet a little hilarious. “Gu Xingchuan, why are you so silly?”
Gu Yuchuan looked back at him. “You think you’re the smartest, huh?”
Song Yi shrugged. “At least when I give a Like, I’ll use my alternative account.”
Gu Xingchuan snorted dismissively. “You think I’m afraid of him?”
Song Yi curved his lips and rolled his eyes. “Then don’t be angry. I’m not blaming you for being unreasonable.”
“Really?”
“Really.” Song Yi decisively stated.
In a few steps, Gu Xingchuan walked over. He pressed Song Yi’s head down and lowered his to kiss those lips. Unhappy, he puffed out, “You are very disgusting today.”
Song Yi remained calm, while in his heart, he thought, yeah right. I’m well-liked by everyone.
Gu Xingchuan fell silent for a moment. He gritted his teeth. “You say I don’t know how to care for another’s feelings? Yet am I not caring for yours?”
Song Yi turned his head to look at him, seeing the face of a child being wronged. He smiled. “Did you actually care about my feelings?”
Gu Xingchuan pinched Song Yi’s jaw and exhaled. “Not allowed to smile.”
He paused, rubbing his thumb against Song Yi’s lower lip. His breathing was unsteady while each word was studiously stated. “I don’t want to be your sex friend. I want to be your man. You cannot refuse.”

I like how different MC and MLs’ personalitys are. One is soft, the other is hard, one is mature, the other is childish and one is in love the other is not. 😆
