Chapter 5.2 – Memorandum

Mother Ling was delighted, “Oh, you don’t have to do that. Will it be too much trouble for you?”

Wen Yuanchu looked at Ling Song who was looking up at the sky, “No, it won’t delay anything. If I help Ling Song make up for the previous lessons, I can learn them again myself.”

Ling’s father and mother no longer refused, and thanked Wen Yuanchu happily. Regardless of whether Ling Song was willing or not, they packed up and sent them to the room.

Ling’s mother brought a plate of cut fruits, and before leaving, she reminded her son, “Be obedient. If you don’t want to repeat the grade, follow Yuanchu and study hard.”

Ling Song was unable to resist and had to accept it.

Wen Yuanchu sat beside him, reading his essay.

He lowered his eyes and remained silent, wondering what he was thinking.

Ling Song bit a cantaloupe in his mouth and glanced at him sideways several times.

Wen Yuanchu suddenly raised his eyes.

When their eyes met, Ling Song swallowed subconsciously and choked.

His face flushed red, and it took him a long time to swallow the melon in his mouth.

Wen Yuanchu frowned.

Ling Song raised his voice and said in a bluffing tone, “What are you doing?”

“Did you write this essay yourself?”

“If not?”

“Nothing, it’s well written.”

Wen Yuanchu commented lightly.

Of course it was good. The tutors who taught him these things back then were all talented people.

An ordinary high school student like Wen Yuanchu might not understand what he wrote at all.

Before Ling Song could be any prouder, Wen Yuanchu continued, “But writing this in the college entrance examination is risky. It may either be full marks, or extremely low.”

Ling Song sneered, “That’s because the examiner himself can’t understand it.”

“This is how the rule goes.”

Wen Yuanchu put down his paper and picked up Ling Chaochao’s Grade 1 Chinese textbook.

“Let’s start with Pinyin.”

Ling Song shut up immediately.

Wen Yuanchu taught him Pinyin and also taught him how to read English letters.

Ling Song was reluctant to learn. If it wasn’t for the exam, he didn’t want to learn the foreign language at all.

Fortunately, Pinyin wasn’t difficult to learn. It only took him two hours to remember it.

Nine o’clock.

Ling Song yawned and lay on the desk, waving his hand, “I’m tired, I’ll study another day.”

Wen Yuanchu’s expression changed slightly, but he didn’t remind him, just said, “Take a break, and then we will do another hour of math.”

Without waiting for Ling Song to refuse, Wen Yuanchu took a blank manuscript paper and wrote down the study plan for him on it.

“You have a good foundation in Chinese, so it’s enough to just learn pinyin. You can put it aside for now and just listen carefully in class later.”

“Finish all the elementary school math in the next two days, and study junior high school math in the next month. Study for two hours every night.”

“Study English for one hour every day, memorise ten words, and take extra lessons on Saturdays and Sundays.”

“Do exercises during the day to consolidate your knowledge. You don’t need to listen to the school classes except Chinese, because you don’t understand them anyway.”

“Next time, try to get double digits in math and English in the monthly exam. We can talk about other subjects later.”

Ling Song was shocked, “Chaochao is only in the fourth grade, and you want me to learn everything I need to learn in six years in two days?”

Wen Yuanchu, “You can try.”

…Thank you for thinking so highly of me.

Ling Song looked gloomy. Wen Yuanchu thought for a while and changed his words, “If you can’t learn it in two days, you can add another week. Primary school math, especially in the lower grades, is very simple and does not require too much effort.”

“Oh.”

Ling Song felt sad and did not dare to bargain anymore.

Although Wen Yuanchu was not Wen Che, his face, especially when he frowns, was too similar to that person, so Ling Song instinctively dares not to act rashly.

Wen Yuanchu paused, hesitated for a moment, and told him, “If you don’t want to study physics and chemistry, you can switch to liberal arts. Liberal arts include history, politics, and geography, which may be easier for you. You are only in the second year of high school now, and your situation is special. Tell the school and it should be easy to switch.”

Ling Song was stunned. Study history?

He didn’t want to.

He didn’t want to recall the things of his previous life over and over again.

Even though he, an insignificant king of a fallen country, was probably not worthy of appearing on the exam paper.

“I don’t want to, I’ll study science.”

Wen Yuanchu nodded and didn’t persuade him again.

After letting Ling Song rest for ten minutes, Wen Yuanchu began to give him a first-grade math class.

Ling Song listened absent-mindedly and glanced at Wen Yuanchu from time to time.

This man was very serious when he was teaching him. His thick black eyelashes were slightly droopy, and his eyes were peaceful.

Unlike the Regent, his eyebrows were always filled with a gloomy and violent aura that made him shudder.

But even so, he sometimes would admit his mistakes.

How strange.

At half past ten, Ling Song sent Wen Yuanchu downstairs.

On the stairs, he met his sister-in-law and Ling Chaochao coming up. Ling Chaochao waved to Wen Yuanchu, “Goodbye, Brother Yuanchu.”

The little brat was polite to outsiders.

Ling Song smiled, “I am his uncle, he calls you brother, then am I not your elder?”

Wen Yuanchu looked at him.

The smile on Ling Song’s mouth froze, his eyes rolled, and he didn’t look at Wen Yuanchu again.

He said that sometimes this man’s eyes really looked like that dead ghost Regent, it was not his illusion at all!

If this person hadn’t been quite normal most of the time and had the patience to help him with his lessons, he would have really suspected that this person was the Regent.

Good luck, gods and ghosts, go away.

Or maybe he would go to the temple to pray one day…

The door behind him was closed by Ling Song.

Wen Yuanchu stood quietly outside the door for a moment, took out his mobile phone, and wrote down a memo.

It’s the fifth day since he came back. So happy.
