Chapter 1

Yu Tang opened his eyes. He was sitting in the ice-cold river water.

There was no street light, and his surroundings were in pitch-black darkness. He was wearing really thin clothes, which let in the night wind mixed with rain, making him cold.

The body’s perception has not yet been completely synchronized. Yu Tang’s hands and feet were numbed by the cold, without the slightest strength. There was a buzzing sound in his ears and his vision was a little blurry.

He was holding a phone with the screen slightly glowing. 

The phone was turned on and it transmitted the stern and indifferent voice of a man in a somewhat noisy background.

“Yu Tang, don’t push your luck.” 

“You’ve done a good job in these three years. You’ll get all the remuneration that you deserved, as stated in the contract. If you don’t want to make things too ugly, don’t have any thoughts that you shouldn’t have.”

“This will be our last private contact. I will let the new assistant inform you of the subsequent procedures.”

“Yu Tang, we’ve already agreed that we will divorce in three months.”

The tinnitus in his ear was getting louder and louder. The man reprimanded in a cold and impatient voice. It was as if he was strongly affected by the original owner’s mood that Yu Tang was almost out of breath.

A moment later, in Yu Tang’s mind, suddenly sounded the familiar mechanical voice.

“Received the target story.”

“The data fusion is complete and begins to import the memories.”

“Memory is being imported. Host, please stay calm and don’t move…”

Before Yu Tang’s vision became clear, a mechanical beep sounded in his mind and a large amount of completely unfamiliar memories poured into his mind.

This was a spare tire story about marrying first and falling out of love later.

The character played by Yu Tang was a die-hard fan of the Movie Emperor Sui Si.

Sui Si was this book’s protagonist and his lover was called Ke Ming. He was a junior in the same company as Sui Si and was now a popular rising celebrity.

These two had a relation since childhood. Ke Ming was an orphan at a young age. It was thanks to the subsidiaries of the Sui family that he was able to grow up into an adult. He once met Sui Si when he was volunteering at the orphanage. At that time, Sui Si was still young and stayed with a group of small and thin orphans, talking to them and teaching them to read. Ke Ming fell in love with  him. 

Many years later, Sui Si happened to go to Ke Ming’s university to promote a new film. Ke Ming mustered up the courage to rush out and stopped the youngest Movie Emperor, who he had been paying attention to for many years, to confess his love. 

The following development was as expected: Sui Si was moved by Ke Ming’s tenacity and pure hard work, brought him into the company and personally selected two dramas for him.

Ke Ming has an outstanding appearance, but his acting skills are limited by his talent, which is simply average. From beginning to end, his acting career was lukewarm, without making any splash. However, he unexpectedly became a huge hit when he participated in a talent show, demonstrating great talent on stage. He was endorsed by magazines, and in just a few years, he had over 10 million fans. 

Logically speaking, the protagonist gong and shou were consensual and the story was complete, so there was no need for Yu Tang.

But at this moment, something happened to them. 

Someone took a photo of Ke Ming entering Sui Si’s house late at night, which was carefully examined. Being able to tolerate Sui Si entering the entertainment industry was already the limit. The day that the scandal was broken, they had announced that if they really had a relationship, they would block Ke Ming.”

The licking-dog ¹ typically used to describe someone who excessively pursues or flatters someone they are interested in, without any dignity or bottom line department of the Book Transmigration Bureau belongs to the category of supporting roles. The official full name is “Deeply Affectionate Spare Tire Department”.

The main mission of this department’s staff is to be the spare tire who has a deep affection for the protagonist of the book, escorting the protagonist through all the obstacles without any complaints or regret, and selflessly dedicating themselves to the last moment when the protagonists are happily together.

When Yu Tang joined, he was the only member in the Deeply Affectionate Spare Tire Department.

The director told him that although the department was a little bleak at the moment, soon there would be new colleagues joining and the place would become livelier.

Yu Tang believed him and devoted himself to work with great enthusiasm, taking over the task role of the first book.

Two years later, Yu Tang received an announcement that said that it was a temporary emergency and that he would be working part-time at the second book.

Yu Tang was playing games alone in a cold villa of 300 square meters, when he accidentally fell asleep and woke up to the scene in front of his eyes.

Yu Tang sighed again. 

Anyone, even if he really has passion and love for a job at the beginning, will lose his enthusiasm in the continuous overtime work and become a salty fish without dreams. 

Yu Tang now longs to become a salty fish and return to his cold and lonely 300-square-meter villa with only games, snacks, wifi and jacuzzi.

“The plot has already been imported … you cannot quit without a reason.”

The system and Yu Tang have met three times in the three books. The fourth time it met Yu Tang, the mechanical voice sounded slightly lacking in confidence, “Host.”

The system thought he had changed his mind. The mechanical voice stopped, a little happy. “That’s good. Host, what are you doing right now?”

Yu Tang, “Jump into the river.”

Yu Tang turned off the intercom system and skillfully dragged the system into the small dark room. He looked at the follow-up plot. 

Sui Si’s voice was still stern and cold. In fact, the long silence on his end was undoubtedly very abnormal, which made Sui Si on the other end faintly angry.

Yu Tang has always been obedient and sensible. Sui Si has only followed Ke Ming’s news and never tried to understand any of his affairs. 

Sui Si didn’t even know that Yu Tang had already planned to pretend to have slipped and fallen into the water. This way he could free himself and also let go of Sui Si, without causing any trouble for him and returning his freedom. 

In the plot, Yu Tang’s plan was interrupted this time.

In a few minutes, Ke Ming’s assistant will call saying that Ke Ming was drunk and insisted on driving himself home. Nobody could stop him.

Yu Tang has always known the relationship between the two. These years, in order not to worry Sui Si, not only did Yu Tang wholeheartedly take care of Sui Si, but he also handled whatever happened to Ke Ming. 

Even when he was already physically and emotionally exhausted, in extreme pain, and at the last moment when he just wanted to be completely free and relaxed, Yu Tang still instinctively struggled out of the water, rushed over with one breath and settled the emotionally hurt and drunk Ke Ming.

Naturally, if the tool man supporting character is sick, it is not considered an illness. In the plot, there was absolutely no mention of what happened to Yu Tang  after he struggled out of the ice-cold water and was blown by the cold wind all night, and how he returned to his residence.

On the contrary, the drunk and with a low fever protagonist shou, Ke Ming, was quietly sent back to Sui Si’s home and placed on Sui Si’s bed. 

A God-sent opportunity for the protagonist gong and shou to go from being entangled to breaking through their hearts’ defenses, promoting another wave of affection.

“Host,” the system tried his best to break through the blockage, the electronic voice continued intermittently, “we can’t break the plot line.”

“No break,” Yu Tang said, “just speeding up.”

The system didn’t understand, “How to speed up?”

Yu Tang looked again at the follow-up plot. He noted the general idea and picked up his phone. “Sui Si?”

At the other end of the phone, the man’s cold voice paused, and then a more scorching rage seemed to emerge, “Yu Tang, what do you actually want to—”

“Ke Ming is drunk. He is at the Alliance Star City Hotel. If it’s convenient, he may need you to take him home.”

Yu Tang, “Three days later, there will be people who will use this matter as an excuse to go over old accounts and stir up public opinion to open fire at both of you. I will give you the contact information of a few professional studios to control the comments.”

After a moment of silence at the other end, Sui Si’s voice could be heard again, “What do you want to do?”

“Ke Ming’s birthday is in a week. You never celebrate birthdays, so you’re not sensitive to such days and almost forgot it.”

Yu Tang was so cold that he was anxious to return to the previous book as soon as possible. He hugged his arms, which had become numb due to the cold, and concentrated to recite rapidly according to the synopsis of the plot, “Ke Ming likes ties and he never wears watches. Don’t make a mistake.”

“Yu Tang!”, Sui Si said in a deep voice, “Stop talking about this, where are you!?”

Yu Tang really wants to return to the cold and lonely villa to take a bath and play video games. He had been in charge of three books at the same time and was already very familiar with the operation. He simply stopped talking nonsense and directly sent the remaining main plot line to Sui Si.

After knowing this, even if there is no spare tire, with Sui Si personal ability, the two of them can always successfully resolve previous differences and walk towards the originally planned ending. 

Sui Si and Ke Ming will become successful. The tool man was suddenly enlightened and voluntarily quit early, disappearing completely.

The plot line won’t change and it will have a perfect ending. The overtime bonus that they deserve will still be there.

“Don’t worry, I’m obedient.”

The other end was still talking hurriedly, however, Yu Tang stopped listening carefully and breathed out briskly, “Let’s part amicably. I will stop pestering you.”

He didn’t continue talking.

On the other end of the phone came the sound of people splashing into the water.
