Chapter 1 – White-Eyed Wolf

Duan Chi had a ruler, one that was specifically prepared for Yu En.

Kneeling on the ground, Yu En’s hands were bound. He lifted his head unwillingly, glaring at Duan Chi. Duan Chi removed his glasses, his pale, slender fingers unbuttoning his cuffs. Yu En knew what was coming next—Duan Chi would reach for the ruler.

“Tell me, little brother, shouldn’t you be punished for doing something wrong?” Duan Chi glanced at the time on his wristwatch, tapping Yu En’s face lightly with the ruler. “You have one minute to explain.”

Brother?

What kind of “brother” was Duan Chi supposed to be? He was nothing more than a white-eyed wolf who had once stayed temporarily with the Yu family. Yu En could never forget Duan Chi’s arrogant, hateful face after stealing the Yu family’s assets. He had slapped Yu En’s face with money and said mockingly, “I’ll inherit everything from the Yu family—including foolish you.”

Fine, inherit whatever you want, but did he have to insult him while doing it? That “including foolish you” was just an excuse to toy with him.

And now Duan Chi had the nerve to demand an explanation?

Explain, my ass!

But Yu En knew he couldn’t outtalk Duan Chi, so he stubbornly chose to confront him with silence.

19, 18, 17…”

The countdown began. Duan Chi often used this tactic, applying time pressure to force Yu En into submission. The feeling of despair engulfed Yu En once again, as if an invisible rope tightened around his neck. The more he struggled, the more suffocated he felt. The one controlling the rope was Duan Chi—whether it loosened or tightened was entirely up to him.

Yu En had no choice but to lift his eyes to look at him again. His gaze burned with defiance, resistance, and… fear.

“6, 5, 4, 3…”

The countdown continued like a ticking time bomb.

There was no denying it—Duan Chi’s time threats worked well on Yu En.

“I was wrong to secretly kiss Ye Qiu behind your back!” Yu En practically shouted the words, his shoulders trembling.

Ye Qiu was Duan Chi’s first love, and Yu En had been secretly stealing his place.

Duan Chi gently stroked the red mole on Yu En’s lips with his fingertip, his voice soft and coaxing yet laced with an unsettling chill. “Tell me, who taught you these tricks?”

What could Yu En say? Should he admit that he’d been secretly watching Duan Chi for a long time and learned everything from him?

Two hours later, Yu En clutched his burning, aching backside. He raised his fist, intending to fight back, at least to leave Duan Chi battered and bruised. But he couldn’t bring himself to clench his fist. In the end, all he dared to do was scratch a few marks on Duan Chi’s back.

Duan Chi was a lunatic. To outsiders, he seemed handsome, refined, and elegant. But only Yu En knew how terrifying he was when his mask slipped.

He unleashed all his dark, unspeakable tendencies on Yu En.

What if he locked Yu En up again, like before, and forced him to play those master-and-dog games?

After all, it wasn’t like Yu En hadn’t barked “woof, woof, woof” before.

And he had called him “Master.”

Duan Chi had toyed with him completely.

Yu En had had enough of living like a dog!

“Why do you care where I learned it from!” Yu En growled, his wavy brown hair pinned under Duan Chi’s forearm. His whole body ached, as if he’d been spun in a washing machine. Tears welled up at the corners of his eyes.

Duan Chi’s skills were terrible.

During their first time, Yu En had even wondered if he might not actually be gay.

There wasn’t a shred of pleasure in it.

Yu En’s body ached, and his mind was also tormented.

Duan Chi was an extremely contradictory person. He clearly hated Yu En to the point of wanting him dead—he truly wanted him dead. Several times, Yu En had suspected that Duan Chi might strangle him, but right before Yu En reached his breaking point, Duan Chi would finally loosen his grip and let go.

Now, Yu En was coughing and gasping for air, growing increasingly aggrieved. What was this? His family’s company had been swallowed up, his father was imprisoned, and he was humiliated by Duan Chi. The hands that Duan Chi once praised as beautiful now humiliated him the most.

Duan Chi forbade him from kissing anyone else, but the people around Duan Chi were like waves on the sea, one after another, each stronger than the last, hitting him like a wave crashing onto the shore.

“En En, didn’t I tell you not to look for anyone else?” Duan Chi suddenly pulled Yu En’s hair, tightly winding the strands around his fingers. “If you’re disobedient, should you be punished?”

“This isn’t fair! You only let me watch you and love you, but what about you? Do you love me?”

Yu En tilted his face slightly to hear Duan Chi’s answer more clearly.

But sadly, there was still no answer from Duan Chi.

Duan Chi lowered his gaze to look at him, gripping his chin without much gentleness, his expression as usual, filled with scrutiny, as if appraising the value of an object.

His gaze was cold and piercing.

Yu En met Duan Chi’s deep, indifferent eyes, looking back with the same cold persistence as always.

As expected, Duan Chi didn’t answer.

How could Duan Chi like him? He was just a toy for Duan Chi, someone Duan Chi could use to vent his frustrations.

After all, it was his family that caused Duan Chi’s family to fall apart, and Duan Chi’s choice to take revenge on him was only fair.

Yu En’s crying wouldn’t stop, and Duan Chi helplessly stopped, offering a half-hearted consolation. “Why are you crying? Wasn’t it you who got me to do these things? Didn’t you insist on being with me?”

Those two rhetorical questions left Yu En with no way to argue.

Duan Chi wiped away Yu En’s tears, and Yu En knew that Duan Chi wasn’t doing it out of sympathy for him. It was just that Duan Chi didn’t like being distracted when he was in the middle of doing something. Yu En slapped Duan Chi’s damp hand away. It didn’t even feel like a hand—his fingers were cold and strong, and his palm had a thin callus. It felt like the tentacle of an octopus, wrapping around him tightly!

“It’s your fault for pulling my hair, it hurts.” Yu En thought about just shaving his head in the future.

Duan Chi loosened his grip on Yu En a bit, and Yu En immediately felt some relief from the pain that had been building up in his body.

“You’re not allowed to talk to women.” Yu En thought of Duan Chi’s secretary, tall and beautiful, and also his doctor friend, mature and steady. “And you’re not allowed to kiss any men!”

“Not even with you?”

Yu En felt that Duan Chi was asking nonsense—after all, they were already doing things far worse than kissing.

Duan Chi’s gaze locked on Yu En’s red, bitten lips, and he tightened his hold on Yu En’s chin. His touch was far from polite. He maliciously reminded him, “When you seduced me with your clothes, you were much more proactive than you are now.”

Human nature is quite cruel—what is unattainable is always the most desired. Yu En felt as though he had been slapped hard across the face. Even though his sense of shame had already been shattered a thousand times by Duan Chi, hearing it so bluntly still made him feel humiliated.

What could Yu En do? After all, the Yu Group was now being kept afloat by Duan Chi. When the Securities Regulatory Commission found out that his father, Yu Yiting, had manipulated the stock market, and then later uncovered his involvement in shady dealings, Yu Yiting was soon arrested. If it hadn’t been for Duan Chi stepping in to save the day, the Yu Group would have gone bankrupt long ago. Now, the Yu Group was nothing but an empty shell, with all the subsequent business expansion being built by Duan Chi.

As for him, he was just a figurehead chairman, with real power long since taken away by Duan Chi.

Who could have known that the chairman of the Yu Group would be pinned to the bed by the president he himself had appointed?

Who would have guessed that the chairman would be flushed and tortured by his subordinates during a video conference?

Not to mention the calls, where Duan Chi would deliberately make things difficult for him.

Duan Chi had always been full of malicious intent, something Yu En had figured out the moment they first met.

Yu En wiped his tears and suddenly changed the subject, asking Duan Chi, “Do you know why I always love eating grilled octopus?”

Duan Chi’s long fingers gently wiped away the tears from the corner of Yu En’s eye, and his focused gaze was so full of affection that it seemed to only contain Yu En.

But Yu En knew this was an illusion because Duan Chi’s eyes showed the same deep affection when looking at a dog.

Duan Chi played with Yu En’s hair, responding without much sincerity, “Why?”

Yu En stared at the Adam’s apple so close to him and suddenly didn’t want to answer Duan Chi. He threatened Duan Chi, aggrieved yet fierce, but without much intimidation, “…I’ll bite you to death!”

Duan Chi, shameless and enjoying himself, squeezed Yu En’s hand, making the veins on the back of his hand stand out slightly, “No need to bite, I’ll die right here on you.”

But the one who would die was not Duan Chi.

It was Yu En.

One month later.
