@Dashingravens, this chapter is once again dedicated to you as a token of appreciation.

On Friday, Yu Jingxuan was at work. There was not much to do today, so he stared at his phone in a daze.
In the small group chat with Lu Feifei and Orange, those two people have already exchanged over a hundred messages from this morning until now, and they are still chatting.
Feifei: [Yuyu, what is going on? Are you involved with that Omega?]
[Screenshot 1.jpg]
[Screenshot 2.jpg]
Attached were all the contents of Yu Jingxuan’s private messages, where he asked, have you ever tried Omega?
Yu Jingxuan was so embarrassed that he wished he could leave the group chat on the spot.
Yesterday, he and Nie Zihang left early. That Alpha named Ren Wei was still like that1continued to behave in a certain way, presumably in a manner that was unsatisfactory or problematic.… After Orange got home yesterday, he apologised to him, saying he had introduced him to a bad A and was sorry, and so on.
Then, the direction of the conversation suddenly changed and turned into various questions directed at him.
After all, when he left yesterday, his fingers were interlocked with Nie Zihang’s, which definitely did not look like a business partnership.
Adding to this, the previous chat records between him and Lu Feifei… The matter of having something shady with Nie Zihang was basically confirmed.
Feifei: [@Yu, come out here! No wonder you kept asking me if I had tried Omega before! Do you remember what you said last time when we had a late-night snack? You said you did not want to be on top! I did not expect that you, with your thick eyebrows and big eyes2In Chinese, the phrase “浓眉大眼” (nóngméi dàyǎn) literally means and is used to describe someone’s physical appearance. Figuratively, it is often used to refer to someone who is perceived as straightforward, noticeable, or distinctive in their demeanour or personality. Feifei is using it to emphasise that Yuyu, despite his distinctive appearance, has acted contrary to what was previously expected., would betray so quickly!]
Feifei: [@Yu, if your attributes have changed, should you not first focus on your brothers?! Wuwuwu, there are so few reliable A’s, and my brother finally became 1, but it was not for me…]
Orange: [@Yu, Xiao Yu, you really went back straight, huh… Is it because of that scumbag He Cheng? Sigh… But this way is also fine. Nowadays, AA relationships are not recognised by national law, but if you are in an AO relationship, you will have legal protection if you get married in the future.]
Yu Jingxuan, who had been silently observing: …
Yu: [@Feifei, I am not type 1!]
Feifei: [Who are you trying to fool? You look for an Omega, but are you not still in the dominant position? What is the matter, are you just lying there waiting for the Omega to take charge?]
Yu Jingxuan: …
He should not have made comments in the group chat.
As a result, after the group chat was quiet for half a minute, Lu Feifei directly went into bombarding mode.
Feifei: [!!!]
Feifei: [What the…heck! Could it really be true?]
Orange: [Based on my understanding of him, since he is not refuting it, ninety-nine percent of it is true.]
Feifei: […]
Feifei: [@Yu, have you tried it? Is he big?]
When this message popped up, Yu Jingxuan’s face instantly turned as red as a cooked shrimp3metaphorically, a deep red colour.
Especially, a message sent by Nie Zihang also appeared at the top of the chat window.
Even though it was clear that Nie Zihang could not see this conversation, there was still an inexplicable sense of uneasiness.
He could not help but awkwardly move his buttocks and cough several times, feeling embarrassed.
Yu: [Do not say anything more!]
Feifei: [Officer, are you embarrassed now? I just said one sentence in the group, and now you are embarrassed? Before, we were at the barbecue restaurant, and in front of everyone, you said I was small—why did you not seem embarrassed then, Yu Jingxuan! Do I have no sense of face at all?]
Yu: [! I was drunk then; you shut up! So, Mr. Nie is very, very, very big! Is that okay now?]
Nie: [?]
Seeing the greeting sent by Nie Zihang, Yu Jingxuan’s mind went blank for a moment, and then… he casually replied with three exclamation marks.
Only after all the messages had been sent out did he realise it was too late…
Just now, there was a message sent together with Lu Feifei, and there was also a message from Nie Zihang.
And he clicked the wrong dialogue box!
Now, Yu Jingxuan is looking at the sentence that Nie Zihang sent earlier: [My dad asked me to ask you what kind of fish you want, with bones or without bones.]
He wanted to cry, but there were no tears.
[“Yu” retracted a message.]
[“Yu” retracted a message.]
Nie: [Hmm? Why was it retracted? I have not had enough of it yet. It was rare for our little fish to praise me.]
Nie: [Praise me one more time; I want to hear it again.]
[“Nie” patted you.]
Yu Jingxuan’s face turned bright red.
If the office were not a concrete floor, he would be able to dig a hole and burrow into it right now.
┈
On the other side, Nie Zihang was originally in the office following up on a case’s court appearance information in real-time when his dad suddenly sent him a message. His dad said that for the Mid-Autumn Festival, he wanted to make a fish dish and asked Nie Zihang to check with Yu Jingxuan whether he preferred sea fish or freshwater fish and whether he wanted it with bones or boneless.
He casually sent it to Yu Jingxuan.
His Alpha responded almost instantly, but the reply was this kind of sentence.
The message was instantly retracted.
He could even imagine how embarrassed the little fish was looking at the screen on the other end of the phone.
Nie Zihang licked his lips.
To speak honestly, he was craving it.
He glanced at the court appearance information still being updated in the group, then looked at the fish, who had been acting like an ostrich and not replying. With a sudden idea, he simply dialled a call to the Alpha.
“Beep… Beep…”
The prolonged call tone came through the receiver, and it was only on the fifth ring that the call was finally answered.
“Um… Mr. Nie.”
The sound on the phone was not loud, but it was quite hollow and had a slight electrical noise, almost as if it came with its own echo.
Nie Zihang spun his fountain pen around in his hand, propped up his legs, and leaned back in his seat lazily. “Baby, did you find a quiet place to take my call?”
“…No.”
“There are many people here; all the colleagues are present.”
Nie Zihang, listening to the Alpha’s voice with its built-in reverb effect, raised an eyebrow. “So many people, huh? Then forget it. I was thinking of hearing you praise me a bit more on the phone, but Officer Yu’s so thin-skinned, he probably would not want to.”
A cautious exhalation sound immediately came through the earpiece.
Nie Zihang: “It seems it will have to be in the evening. I also like it when you praise me in front of me.”
Before the exhalation sound from the other side had even ended, it turned into urgent inhalations.
After quite a while, he finally begged for mercy and called out, “Mr. Nie…”
Nie Zihang pressed his fist to his lips and smiled softly. “Alright, I will not tease you anymore. Who told you not to reply to my message just now?”
“I am currently replying.”
“Stubborn4Pretending. The screen does not even show that you are typing. Do you think Brother Nie is an idiot?”
“No…”
Nie Zihang laughed softly.
Real-time updates from the court started coming through the work group again. Nie Zihang held his phone in one hand and typed away on the keyboard with the other.
He was busy on his end, while the Alpha on the other end of the phone just listened quietly.
Even through the phone, he could feel the obedience from the other side.
When Nie Zihang finished typing the last character, he called out to the person on the other side in a low voice. “Yu Xiaxuan.”
“Yes, Mr. Nie, I am here,” said the person on the other end.”
Nie Zihang looked at the little fat fish avatar on the screen, softened his voice, and said, “Brother misses you.”
The Alpha paused upon hearing the voice.
And then a voice with a hint of a smile came through the receiver.
“I am too.”
┈
A few days later, the Mid-Autumn Festival.
Yu Jingxuan got into Nie Zihang’s car heading home, carrying several large bags of gifts.
There were clothes bought for Dad Nie, and there were also tea leaves for Father Nie. The items were not expensive but were very practical.
As October was approaching, the weather had already started to cool down.
Nie Zihang’s parents live in the suburbs of City H, nestled between the mountains and water, where the wind is cooler than in the city.
After getting out of the car, Nie Zihang helped Yu Jingxuan adjust his slightly spread collar and asked him, “Are you cold?”
The Alpha shook his head. “Not cold. I am just a little nervous.”
Nie Zihang took the gift from Yu Jingxuan’s left hand, held him with the other hand, and they walked into the yard, one in front and one behind. “It is okay. If it really does not work, just be yourself. Anyway, they will find out sooner or later.”
The Alpha obediently followed behind and said, “Okay, I will make an effort first.”
Nie Zihang held the person’s hand and pinched it lightly, neither too hard nor too soft.
After entering the door, a rich aroma of food wafted through the house.
Dad Nie took the items brought by the two and looked at the ‘genuine and valuable5high quality and authenticity‘ Alpha his son brought home, smiling so much that the fine lines at the corners of his eyes appeared.
“Jingxuan, right? You look really delicate; no wonder our Hanghang likes you. Please, have a seat. Hanghang’s father is cooking in the kitchen and will come out in a little while.”
Then he led the two people to sit down together.
Nie Zihang lazily leaned on the sofa, took an apple, and took a bite. “Did you not say you would cook? My wife… my boyfriend is coming over for the first time, and you are just talking but not doing anything.”
The way he called ‘wife’ sounded too natural, leading Dad Nie to think that he had not changed his ways over the years and secretly giving him a glare.
Then, he also brought a bowl of peeled pomegranate and handed it to Yu Jingxuan. “How come there is no sign of my skill? I bought the dishes myself. Xuanxuan, Uncle also made steamed bass, guaranteed to be delicious.”
Yu Jingxuan quickly thanked him. “Okay, Uncle. I will definitely eat more when the time comes.”
After speaking, he scooped up a spoonful of bright red pomegranate seeds.
Just as he was about to put it in his mouth, Yu Jingxuan glanced at Nie Zihang, who was lying on one side playing with his phone, and changed the direction of his wrist to pass it to Nie Zihang’s mouth.
“Ah Hang, eat some pomegranate,” he said.
Nie Zihang glanced at Dad, who was watching their interaction with great interest, then looked at the reserved Alpha and, smiling, opened his mouth, allowing Yu Jingxuan to feed him.
After finishing a spoonful of pomegranate seeds with a crunch, he licked the corners of his lips, calmly wrapped his arm around Yu Jingxuan’s waist, and said, “Really sweet, thank you, husband.”
Yu Jingxuan…
Yu Jingxuan was stunned.
Fortunately, Dad Nie saw how affectionate they were with each other and could not bear to watch.
He immediately dropped the remark, ‘You two keep chatting,’ and quickly ran into the kitchen.
Without Dad Nie’s attention, Nie Zihang got up from Yu Jingxuan’s shoulder, then, holding the bowl of ‘fish food,’ took Yu Jingxuan and went back to the bedroom.
Nie Zihang’s bedroom was on the second floor, facing south, and also had a small balcony.
By now, it was almost noon, and the sunlight falling on the bed had cast a warm yellow layer over the bed sheets.
The bedroom’s layout was very simple: a bed, a wardrobe, a small wooden table, and a single sofa.
Nie Zihang placed the pomegranate on the small table and then directly sat down on the sofa.
Yu Jingxuan looked around in a daze, feeling that the only thing left to do was to go to bed, so he simply walked over to it.
Nie Zihang chuckled. “Why sit so far away? Are you afraid I might eat you, or do you want me to eat you?”
Then he patted his own thigh. “Sit here.”
Yu Jingxuan’s face turned red, and he walked over slowly.
As soon as he walked up to the man, he was half-embraced, facing him, and sat down on his lap.
Usually, Yu Jingxuan was a bit shorter than Nie Zihang, but sitting on his lap, he was taller by about a forehead’s worth. Thus, he slightly lowered his gaze and made eye contact with him.
Nie Zihang hugged the person and pulled him closer, then gently stroked down the bridge of the Alpha’s nose with his fingertips.
Finally, his index finger gently tapped on the rounded tip of his nose.
“Our little fish did well today, so I will give a reward.”
After speaking, he placed one hand on the back of the Alpha’s head, pressed him down, and kissed him.
Attack cities and seize territories6Asserting dominance and taking control over domains..
The tip of the tongue swept inch by inch along the Alpha’s mouth.
Where the storm passed7metaphorically, the aftermath or impact of an intense and turbulent situation; the force or effect of the ‘storm’ (which can be literal or metaphorical) was so overwhelming that it left a scene of chaos or devastation., it nearly devoured and tore the person apart.
The person sitting on his lap clung tightly to him, and soon he was softened by the kisses.
Yet he still held onto the person and did not release him at all.
The Alpha was already lying on him, and his body kept sliding down, but he could only obediently let him kiss him.
During such a clearly defined up-and-down position and the accompanying actions…
From the balcony behind the two people came an extremely faint ‘creak’ sound.
Yu Jingxuan suddenly stiffened his back. “Mr. Nie, it seems like someone has entered the balcony…”
Nie Zihang casually wrapped his arms around his waist. “It is fine, my dad.”
Yu Jingxuan, on the verge of tears: I know he is your dad, but your dad himself is not the problem. The problem is that your dad seems to think I am a big wolf dog!
And now, he was not at all a big wolf dog!

Is it just me or does the vocabulary seem more… proper/chic/high class? With wordchoices like: partake, ingesting, consummating, posterior region of Yu Jinxuan’s head, dorsal region(???) and others.
Thanks for the chapter!
Hahaha, I apologize. I used academic wordings here. Let me know if it is uncomfortable(?) to read, and I will rephrase it in a more casual way. 😊
Aww they are so cute together 😍
I think more casual vocabulary may sound a bit more natural..?
Regardless, thank you for all your hard work!
Noted. Thank you!
The way they spoke is too sophisticated for me so i think it’s better to be casual but thank you for your work. It shows the book means a lot to you like it does to us (^_^)
I will keep this in mind. And yes, this novel really means a lot to me. The characters are all incredibly adorable (except for the exes), especially the little fish.
wow i’ve read Mr Rong Lovelorn diary!!
Also it was like i was reading a historical drama…(not good )
I have not read the entire story yet, but I have read some chapters of its manhua before. Based on the novel description alone, I found the story interesting.
Maybe I will stick around till the end or give it a good halfway read, so I can separate the wheat from the chaff and judge if it is worth its salt.
I am also picking up “The Cub I’ve Raised Is The Crown Prince Of The Empire” along with the aforementioned novel. I do not know if the story is to your taste.
Here I was thinking why everyone started speaking in such a professional manner~
btw I read people’s reviews of that novel, everyone had different views on it. But overall it seems a good read so should probably continue, I got quite intrigued after reading everyone’s view too hehe. Also if you ever have any plans on picking up another story could you translate “Do You Have Any Opinion on Mechanical Cat Ears?” I don’t think the translator has any further plans on translating it anymore, the translations stopped at chapter 18, and the last update was on 18 Oct last year. And the translation so far is also quite confusing. It is just a request don’t take it seriously if you can’t hehe. Also thanks for the chapter
For now, I don’t have any plans to pick up another series. I don’t think I can handle translating three novels simultaneously, so I apologize for that. 😅
Perhaps in the future, when I am halfway through translating “Mr. Rong’s Lovelorn Diary,” I will consider picking up another novel. If I do, I will make an announcement and let you know if I am open to new translation requests again. 😊
Thank you for reading!
I was wondering why they started speaking in a very formal almost unnatural (reminiscent of historical ) way, when in the beginning they weren’t (it started around that phone call with the parents) so I went to check the raws in chinese and mtled the same chapter to check and it turns out it’s the translation choice?
I wonder what prompted this choice when the setting is very casual. No regular person talks that way,,,not even in historical novels.
Still very grateful for the translation, I was just curious!
