Jiang Que climbed up with a sense of frustration, all the while searching in his mind for words to express himself.
Getting tongue-tied midway through speaking was truly embarrassing. Humans were so troublesome. Why were there so many words to express oneself? Back when he used to talk to his tentacles, it wasn’t this complicated!
Oh? Speaking of which, where were his tentacles?
It was only then that Jiang Que realized it had been a while since he last heard his little tentacles speak. Just as he was wondering, one of his small tentacles nearby curled up and said:
[Que Que, we’re here, it’s just that Zhi Zhi is here, sometimes we don’t need to talk.]
That makes sense.
Not speaking much wasn’t a big deal, as long as the little tentacles were still with him, everything was fine. Jiang Que happily accepted this explanation.
It was at that moment that he finally saw the end of the soft ladder.
At the end of the steep cliff was a platform, beyond which was darkness. Jiang Que’s view was mostly blocked by the cliff, so he could only see this far.
He deftly threw Shen Tazhi up using his tentacles, then quickly followed up to the platform himself, standing in front of Shen Tazhi with a cold face, not saying a word.
He had been distracted talking to the little tentacles earlier and forgot to think of what words to use to scold Shen Tazhi.
Shen Tazhi, on the other hand, was very conscientious, completely obeying the command of ānot speakingā that Jiang Que had given. He opened his backpack, took out iodine and ointment, and silently treated his wounds.
Jiang Que stood with folded arms, coldly watching Shen Tazhi for a while, and finally managed to blurt out a sentence:
“You’re a bad person!”
“Haha.”
Shen Tazhi couldn’t help but burst out laughing this time, some of the iodine even spilled out.
Without stopping his movements, he chuckled, “Que Que… after thinking for so long, is that the only sentence you came up with?”
Feeling offended, Jiang Que explained grumpily, “It’s because I don’t want to say other things to you!”
Having seen so many dark sides of human nature and heard countless vulgarities, Jiang Que certainly wasn’t incapable of cursing. However, the way humans ācurseā and what he wanted to express were completely opposite.
Jiang Que didn’t want to say those words to Shen Tazhi, and at the same time, he couldn’t use normal language to express his emotions. This sentence was already the most fitting one in his impoverished vocabulary system for his current mood.
“Alright, you’re right.” Shen Tazhi gently responded, “I won’t do it again in the future. I’ll always inform you beforehand and act with your consent, okay?”
“Okay.”
Feeling slightly relieved, Jiang Que put away his little sore tentacles that he had used to climb the ladder. He looked around and asked:
“Where are we? Have we come out yet?”
“Not yet.”
After tending to his wounds, Shen Tazhi took out a small alcohol lamp from his backpack, set it up on the ground, and placed a pot on it while answering Jiang Que.
“We are now on the ground, but still inside the cave. There’s a stone door ahead. Once that door opens, we can leave.”
“How do we open that stone door?”
Jiang Que approached Shen Tazhi, not looking at him, but staring eagerly at the pot.
He had only eaten hot pot this morning, listened to stories all afternoon, and his stomach was only filled with snacks. After facing several obstacles midway and climbing such a high cliff, he hadn’t eaten dinner yet.
So, at the sight of Shen Tazhi’s small pot, Jiang Que was already hungry.
Remembering the various things Shen Tazhi had given him to eat earlier, he couldn’t help but swallow and continued, “What are we going to eat?”
Shen Tazhi first answered Jiang Que’s first question, “There’s a formation on the other side of the stone door. We have to wait until just before sunrise when the Yin energy is strongest and the Yang energy is weakest to open it. It’s almost a day until the next morning, so we have to wait. As for what we’ll eat tonightā”
He took out a red package from his backpack, placed it in front of Jiang Que, shook it, successfully diverting Jiang Que’s gaze from the pot by making a plastic bag rustling sound, and said:
“You liked hot pot in the morning, right? We’ll have spicy noodles later, which is also spicy, you should like it too.”
“Okay, I want to eat!”
Jiang Que didn’t know what it was, but when it came to food, he always trusted Shen Tazhi and enjoyed the sound of the plastic bag. So, he happily nodded in agreement.
With no concept of time, Jiang Que didn’t realize that unknowingly, he had stayed up all night with Shen Tazhi, missing the previous morning. Shen Tazhi also didn’t explain the passing of time to let him rest, as he saw Jiang Que wasn’t sleepy yet. Patiently cooking noodles for him, Shen Tazhi asked:
“Xiao Que, do you want to continue listening to the next part of the story?”
Being able to listen to more stories before leaving was the best thing for him. Jiang Que cheerfully responded, “Okay,” and ruthlessly abandoned the pot he had been staring at for so long, moving closer to Shen Tazhi.
He placed his little tentacles from his embrace next to Shen Tazhi’s backpack, allowing the ten tentacles to gather together, then leaned against Shen Tazhi:
“What’s next?”
“Next…”
ćNext, the three people, Luo Shang, Moyu, and Liumeng, along with the three princes, got acquainted as they spent more time together. Shen Ao, the charming school grass, fell for the gentle Liumeng, while the sunny and cheerful Luo Chen developed feelings for the lovely Moyu.
Of course, Luo Shang and the others didn’t pay much attention to the affections that had become commonplace for them. Carrying the burden of hatred from past betrayals, they had no time to focus on these three individuals. After a brief time in school, they finally obtained their degrees from the Royal Academy in England. At the same time, Luo Shang truly inherited the world’s number one assassin organization, the āShang Palaceā, and embarked on the journey back home.
Naturally, the three school grasses followed closely behind, returning to their home country as well, determined to see who had so foolishly hurt these girls so deeply.ć
When Shen Tazhi talked about this part of the plot, the noodles were ready.
He scooped the noodles out of the pot, drained the water, put them in a disposable bowl, poured in the seasoning packets of chilli oil and vinegar, then handed Jiang Que a vacuum-packed braised chicken leg. He mixed it all together with the noodles.
The spicy seasoning and the aroma of the braised meat mixed together, making Jiang Que salivate even more.
So fragrant…
Shen Tazhi didn’t deliberately tease him. After mixing the seasoning, he handed the bowl and chopsticks to Jiang Que, saying, “Here, can you use chopsticks by yourself?”
“Of course!” Jiang Que awkwardly picked up the noodles with the chopsticks. “I learned when I had hot pot this morning.”
Shen Tazhi smiled, “Good, Xiao Que is very smart.”
Jiang Que didn’t reply but instead devoured the noodles in one bite, then stood there holding the bowl, forgetting to even chew the noodles in his mouth.
Delicious.
Unlike the bland taste of previous foods, this bowl of noodles and the morning hot pot brought a tingling sensation that made his mouth water uncontrollably.
It was intense, a taste that clashed and leaped on his taste buds, making Jiang Que involuntarily think of Shen Tazhi.
Shen Tazhi seemed like a character from a fairy tale, descending from the sky and breaking through the dullness of everything, bringing him sensory experiences and emotional perceptions he had never experienced before.
Although it had only been three short days, he could hardly remember how he had lived before meeting Shen Tazhi.
“Xiao Que?” Shen Tazhi’s puzzled voice came, “Are you not used to this? If you’re not used to it, I still have…”
Jiang Que suddenly came to his senses, chewed hard, and swallowed the noodles, “I’m used to it, I like eating this!”
He said as he took several more bites, afraid that Shen Tazhi would really think he didn’t like it and take the bowl away from him.
Shen Tazhi assessed Jiang Que for a moment. Seeing that his expression seemed genuine, he relaxed and started unwrapping a convenience store boughtrice ball for himself to eat.
Jiang Que’s cheeks puffed out from eating so much, and when he looked up and saw Shen Tazhi eating the rice ball, he asked, “Aren’t you going to eat this?”
Shen Tazhi patted his head, “I only brought one packet, I’ll eat the rice ball first.”
He never ate this kind of instant food with seasoning packets, and this one packet was a gift from the store when he was shopping.
Shen Tazhi had originally planned to keep it for emergencies, completely unaware that Jiang Que would like it so much.
But eating too much unhealthy instant food was not good… it seemed like he should plan Jiang Que’s healthy diet after they went out?
With these thoughts in mind, Shen Tazhi watched Jiang Que eat contentedly, then couldn’t help but reach out and pat his head.
Jiang Que grabbed Shen Tazhi’s wrist with his tentacle, continuing to eat and grumbled, “No touching.”
Why keep touching his head, this naughty person.
Shen Tazhi’s hand was released from the grip of the tentacle. He didn’t resist, quickly finished his rice ball, scooped some noodle soup for himself, and asked, “Should I continue with the story?”
Being able to eat and listen to stories at the same time was simply double happiness. Jiang Que nodded repeatedly, prompting Shen Tazhi to continue:
ćInternational Airport.
A girl with purple hair and sunglasses slowly walked off the plane, pushing a suitcase.
Even though her eyes were not visible, just the exposed delicate chin was enough to let people know she was a rare beauty. Her exquisite and beautiful black high-fashion dress, along with the simple yet elegant amethyst necklace around her neck, added a touch of mystery to her.
“Wow, what a beautiful person.”
“Oh my god, look, the two girls behind her are also beautiful!”
“Is she a celebrity?”
Moyu, following behind Luo Shang, uncomfortably hid behind her, while Luimeng frowned at the chaos caused by their arrival at the airport, “We shouldn’t have refused the bodyguard Mom sent.”
Now, almost the entire airport crowd was flocking towards them, and they probably wouldn’t be able to leave for a while.
Luo Shang tilted her head, smiled lightly, “Didn’t we agree on this before? To retaliate fiercely with our own strength. If we even need bodyguards to come back, as the world’s top three assassins, we would be too incompetent.”
After she finished speaking, she gently took off her sunglasses. Her emotionless cold glassy eyes swept over the area, and everyone present was chilled by the cold aura emanating from her.
Luo Shang satisfactorily put her sunglasses back on without turning around and said to the two pensive girls behind her, “Let’s go.”
Moyu and Luimeng exchanged a glance, each seeing a firm expression in the other’s eyes, and nodded in understanding, following Luo Shang’s steps.
After a year, they were no longer the naive girls they once were. They were like the red spider lilies blooming in the other shore, hellish angels returning with vengeance.
Those who had bullied and betrayed them in the past would surely pay back a hundredfold!ć
