Chapter 3

The young boy was huddled in the corner, displaying a back that had pitiful and helpless written all over it. He seemed to have noticed that the fighting had stopped before he dared to look up at Shen Fengyue, and then quickly lowered his head back.

Although it was only for a moment, Shen Fengyue’s keen eyes saw it clearly.

Thick glasses, long bangs, washed-out school uniform; isn’t he the classmate who looked like he was being bullied in school?!

“Drip-drop, drip-drop”, there was bright red blood dripping on the ground, drop by drop.

Shen Fengyue observed the young boy who had been beaten black and blue and even had blood dripping from his nose. He was afraid that the young boy’s lowered head would make the blood flow faster, so he raised the young boy’s head in a hurry and asked him to tilt his head 90 degrees. With his other hand, he took out a tissue from his school uniform’s pocket and wiped the blood for the boy.

The snow-white tissue became stained red with the blood, making it look very conspicuous.

Seeing that one tissue wasn’t enough, Shen Fengyue drew out another and gave it to him.

The pitiful boy rolled the tissue into a makeshift plug, stuffed it in his nostrils, and stuttered his thanks. “Th-thank you, thank you.”

Shen Fengyue noticed that the young boy’s eyes were erratic, not daring to look directly at him, so he smiled and asked, “Are you alright?”

“I’m ok, thank you for your concern.” The pitiful boy promptly lifted his head toward Shen Fengyue to reply before lowering his head again.

Shen Fengyue caught the boy’s embarrassment after he tried to look at him, so he simply lowered his head to get close to him.

The young boy was caught off guard by the sudden intrusion of a delicate face in his personal space startling him. The owner of the face then suddenly bent his eyes and showed him a friendly smile.

The smile was so contagious, it made him smile too.

Shen Fengyue didn’t know what the boy was smiling at. Anyway, it was good to smile. He raised his head, letting his smile become even wider. He noticed the boy was half a head shorter than him as he patted him on the shoulders.

The pitiful boy smiled and raised his head warily to look at Shen Fengyue, only to see that the person’s eyebrows were painted with a beautiful smile. His eyes, shiny and intoxicating. The boy was stunned for a moment.

“What’s your name?” Shen Fengyue asked.

The young boy looked as if he was in a daze. Shen Fengyue’s face showed some helplessness. He knew that he was born handsome and was liked by girls, but he didn’t expect that boys would also like him.

“What’s your name?” He asked again

“Huh, huh? Ah!” the boy reacted and blushed looking like he was embarrassed because he was staring at someone, moreover at the same sex but he still replied, “My name is Qin Yuan.”

The boy’s flushed appearance was very cute, making Shen Fengyue have evil thoughts. He couldn’t help but want to tease him again.

The system seemed to know Shen Fengyue’s bad intentions and reminded him in time. “Don’t go too far.”

Shen Fengyue coughed and introduced himself to Qin Yuan, “My name is Jianyan.”

Qin Yuan nodded and replied, “I know, you’re the school’s prince. You’re very popular.”

Qin Yuan’s appearance was a bit messy, his face was covered in dust. Shen Fengyue simply gave him a whole package of tissues. Qin Yuan took it and said thanks.

“Are you being bullied on campus?” He felt that it was a little abrupt to ask the question, so he added. “Don’t worry, I don’t mean to offend you. You don’t have to say anything if you don’t want to.”

The smile on Qin Yuan’s face froze, and he remained silent.

“I’m just trying to help you.”

After a moment, Qin Yuan suddenly spoke again, “Thanks, I…I don’t know why I’m suddenly being bullied.” He stumbled to finish the sentence, gave out a sigh, and relaxed a little. He secretly glanced at Shen Fengyue’s expression because he was afraid that Shen Fengyue would also dislike him and stay away from him.

But he found that Shen Fengyue’s expression hadn’t changed. On the contrary, after listening to Shen Fengyue’s words, he could sense his goodwill was genuine.

Seeing Qing Yuan who always cowardly held his head down and stammered when he spoke, his gloomy aura would certainly incite evil thoughts from people. Once someone starts to get bullied by one person, it will surely get out of control. Coupled with the indifference of others, it’s like adding fuel to the fire, making it more and more serious.

“You can follow me from now on so that you won’t be bullied.” Shen Fengyue wrapped an arm around Qin Yuan’s shoulders, “Don’t worry.”

A smile climbed up Qin Yuan’s face once again. He didn’t know why he believed Jian’s words.

Shen Fengyue was worried about Qin Yuan, so he accompanied him all the way to the entrance of his home.

He was about to turn and leave when he suddenly heard Qin Yuan calling him.

“Hmm?” He turned sideways.

At this time, the sun happened to be setting, painting the sky a dark gold. The young man turned his face and his face showed a good outline. The setting sun traced a beautiful edge on his side face.

“No, nothing.” Qin Yuan said, “Goodbye.”

Shen Fengyue waved back to him and turned to leave.

Along the way back, the system was chatting with Shen Fengyue, “Old Shen, I didn’t expect you to be so good at fighting! I thought you were a weak chicken and that you would be relying on me.”

Shen Fengyue, “……” Why the hell did this system’s way of addressing me change to Old Shen?

Shen Fengyue, “I had relevant training courses in my university time.”

“Ah, right.” The system suddenly remembered, “Is it really a good idea for you to bring Qin Yuan with you? What if he’s some kind of dangerous person?”

Shen Fengyue said, “Just look at that little cutie, does he look like someone dangerous? And yes, wouldn’t having a companion after school every day reduce my probability of getting killed? He’s also quite pitiful, so let’s just think of it as doing a good deed.”

“But.” The system was still a little hesitant.

Shen Fengyue, “You worry too much.”

The system was finally persuaded, “Maybe, you’re right.”

After watching Shen Fengyue leave, Qin Yuan turned and entered his home. He raised his hand and looked at the half-used packet of tissue in his hand. Through this packet of tissue paper, he was reminded of the man as warm as the sun, and couldn’t help but chuckle in a low voice.

Then the chuckling suddenly stopped. He gracefully lifted up his long bangs and exposed his forehead. His original simple and cowardly expression disappeared, replaced by a face full of anger.

With a glint in his eyes, he said, “You’re really useless.” The voice was low and hoarse, a far contrast from the soft voice of Qin Yuan.

Then he noticed the packet of tissue which was now clenched in his hands. He placed it in front of his nose and took a deep breath. The plastic packaging touched the tip of his nose, and a smell of cologne filled his nasal passage. It was as if he could inhale the scent of the original owner through the packet of tissues.

“I never expected anyone would stand up to protect you, you wimp.” He put the packet down and walked up the stairs with ease. “I thought I’d have to come out again.”

Only the sound of climbing up to the stairs could be heard in the house.

“This is interesting.”

A low and hoarse voice echoed in the room.

Someone had once said, “Getting up early is the harshest and most torturous law in the world.”

Shen Fengyue could agree with them a thousand times. He felt that the immortal who could say such upright and famous words must have suffered the torture of getting up early.

After working for many years, Shen Fengyue never expected that one day he would have the opportunity to return to his student days and would enjoy getting up early.

System, “Oh, congratulations.”

There’s really something wrong with the mind of this system!

“Shut up!” After opposing the system, Shen Fengyue picked up the slice of wheat bread on the table, opened the door, and went out.

According to Jian’s character setting, his parents were always busy working so they didn’t have the time to take care of him. He liked to live in a quiet environment, so he was fine with being left alone in the huge house. Shen Fengyue was very satisfied with the situation because it greatly reduced his chances of his identity being exposed.

The morning light was dim. Because of the drizzle last night, there were crystal-like raindrops hanging on the emerald green leaves. The soft sunlight shined upon them and they reflected the bright light.

Shen Fengyue chewed the bread in his mouth while tossing the school bag hanging on his shoulder to his hand and walked slowly. He didn’t look like he was going to school, instead his actions gave off a feeling like he was out for an outing.

The system got tired looking at him and urged him once again, “Are you a turtle? Can’t you walk a little faster?”

Shen Fengyue just snorted. Because he was in a pleasant mood, he didn’t want to fight with the system so he just cooperated and started walking a little faster. Then he suddenly saw a familiar figure in front of him. He moved quickly toward the boy, focusing on his back. When the boy wasn’t paying attention, he slapped the boy on his shoulder.

“Good morning, Qin Yuan.”

Qin Yuan was walking in a daze. When he was suddenly patted by Shen Fengyue, he was so frightened that he could not help saying, “Ah.” He looked sideways and saw Shen Fengyue, who had leapt to his side.

The sun was shining on his face. His fluffy hair was scattered over his face, and liveliness was reflected incisively and vividly on him. Qin Yuan thought of this person and he seemed to be living in a different world. He lives in the dark, humid, and endless darkness while this person’s world was full of warmth and light.

Qin Yuan used to avoid such people as much as possible, because the more he contacted them, the more he could feel the difference between them and him. But now the light was approaching him actively, breaking into his world in a tough but gentle manner, so he…

“What are you thinking?” The sudden question from Shen Fengyue interrupted his thoughts.

“Nothing, I just like… like to be in a daze.” Qin Yuan replied. Suddenly remembering something he said hurriedly, “Good morning.”

“Try to not be in a daze while walking. What if you’re in danger?”

“Let’s walk together in the future. We’re going the same way, anyway.”

“Come on, we’re going to be late.”

In his ear, only the sound of the man’s excessive talking could be heard, but he didn’t feel annoyed. Instead, he wanted him to keep talking and talking.

The feeling of his heart being filled with warmth was really great.

“All right.” He answered softly. He didn’t even notice that he had slightly raised the corners of his mouth.

Shen Fengyue came earlier because he walked to school with Qin Yuan today without dilly-dallying like before. As soon as he stepped into the classroom, Wei Tianze, who was sitting in his seat, turned to look in the door’s direction.

Shen Fengyue had a premonition that something was wrong, and sure enough, the next second Wei Tianze’s eyes lit up and he shouted loudly, “Jian!” The voice also alerted the students who were studying seriously in the classroom, and at once all eyes were focused on the door.

Shen Fengyue was embarrassed to be watched by so many eyes. He said good morning dryly and then brought Qin Yuan into the classroom.

After putting his school bag on the seat, Shen Fengyue found that there were several different colored letters stuffed inside his desk. He guessed that they must be love letters so he didn’t read them. He just tidied up their edges and corners then gathered the letters together to put them at the very back of the desk. After school, he would throw them away in a place where no one could see them.

“Good morning.” Wei Tianze, who was sitting next to him, said in a voice conveying that he didn’t want to be lonely.

Shen Fengyue hummed casually and began to take out his homework from his school bag. In order to compete with the system for prize money, he did his best to complete his homework last night, looking up material and using more than 20 years of IQ. The system was still angry with him for this.

The sudden silence made Shen Fengyue feel a bit unsettled. According to Wei Tianze’s character of being a demon, he shouldn’t have been silent for so long. He looked sideways and saw Wei Tianze looking at him with expectant eyes.

After understanding his wishes, Shen Fengyue sighed and after suppressing the desire to hit him, he smiled and said, “Good morning.”

After getting a satisfactory answer, Wei Tianze cheered up, turned on his talkative mode, and began to chatter with Shen Fengyue.

“Jian, let’s have lunch together.”

Suddenly thinking of something, Shen Fengyue said, “Invite Qin Yuan too.”

“Thanks.” Qin Yuan said softly.

Only then did Shen Fengyue realize that Qin Yuan hadn’t left, and he had ignored him all this time.

System, “How excessive. Oh.”

Shen Fengyue was speechless. The two of them were now in a competitive relationship, so it was normal for the system to be so annoying. Shen Fengyue comforted himself not to take it seriously. It’s just a string of data.

On the other hand, as soon as Wei Tianze heard that he wanted to take Qin Yuan with him, his face fell and he stared at Qin Yuan with a bad look on his face.

The face, which originally looked extremely sunny and friendly, suddenly changed. Wei Tianze’s eyebrows scrunched together as he tightened his lips and frowned slightly, threatening Qin Yuan with his glare. The glare forced Qin Yuan to say sorry again and again, and he quickly returned to his seat.

He hung his head down, his eyes full of reluctance, yet he didn’t dare to confront Wei Tianze.

I’m a coward.

He blamed himself in his heart.

Shen Fengyue couldn’t bear to see Wei Tianze behaving like this, so he snapped and said, “What are you doing?”

Wei Tianze, after seeing that he was angry, immediately changed his attitude and said, “Well, if you want him to accompany us, he can.”

  1. Bruh, it’s the nosebleed thing again 💀

It’s better to dip your head slightly and let the blood flow out naturally until it stops on its own.. Don’t tilt your head up, unless you want to have your nose full of dried blood and have difficulty breathing because of the clogged blood, Don’t do it, you won’t easily die from blood loss on a minor case of nosebleed, but you’ll die from suffocation. LMAO 💀
