One of the hooligans spread his hand out toward Zhou Hao Chen and grinned widely, showing white teeth on his ugly face. “Take it out.”

Zhou Hao Chen timidly handed over his wallet. His shoulders trembled as if he were weeping.

The wind carried several wisps of evil aura blowing over from the other side of the alley. Bai Ruan’s small nose twitched restlessly, trying to distinguish the original forms of these five hooligans.

…It was the scent of carnivores. However, the scent was relatively weak and smelled of rotten flesh and rancid garbage. It seemed that there were five wild dogs gathered together and it was not known if they became spirits the legal way or not.

Although Bai Ruan was naturally afraid of carnivorous demons, he had almost been devoured by a wolf demon in the past few days. At this moment, the five wild dogs at the bottom of the carnivorous category didn’t scare him at all. After retreating calmly, Bai Ruan took out his mobile phone that had been set to silent mode and dialled the police.

At the same time, he began to take off his shoes.

He took them off, pulled out the 3 cm height booster pads from the left and right socks and then put his shoes back on.

In order to maintain the dignity of a rabbit, Bai Ruan, who was not very tall, would usually put pads in his socks whenever he went out and it affected his activities to some extent. Bai Ruan was afraid that it would be inconvenient to run with Zhou Hao Chen later on, so he took the inserts out in advance and kept them away.

One of the wild dogs emptied the wallet that Zhou Hao Chen had handed over, and counted the stack of colourful banknotes in his hand. His face sank as he yelled, “It’s only five hundred fucking dollars! Fuck, your house will be demolished for millions of dollars. We asked you to borrow five thousand and you can’t even fucking do it?!”

After he finished speaking, he slapped Zhou Hao Chen’s head with the wad of bills in his hand.

Zhou Hao Chen suffered a bit. It didn’t hurt but he was very scared. His thin body trembled and curled up more. With a thick nasal voice, he pleaded, “I… I really have no money. My dad won’t give me pocket money. These are all mine. I won’t eat anything this month and I’ll give it all to you. I really can’t get five thousand…”

“If he doesn’t give it to you, don’t you know how to lie? Can’t you say that you have to pay for supplementary tuition? Do I have to beat you into a pulp for you to understand the situation?” The bastard cornered Zhou Hao Chen to the wall, unbuckled his belt and said to his companions cheerfully, “I heard that playing like this will be painful.”

“Don’t hit me, please!” Zhou Hao Chen tremblingly covered his face with his arms, slid against the wall and sat on the ground, crying in a single breath. “From now on, I’ll give you five hundred dollars every month. Please don’t beat me…”

As Bai Ruan lay in ambush at the corner, he was so angry that his lungs almost exploded by the dialogue in the alley. However, the automatic message from his phone always went “The person you’re trying to contact is currently busy. Please wait or try again later.” Seeing that his student would be out cold if he waited any longer, Bai Ruan jumped out from the corner and shouted furiously, “You guys! What are you doing!?”

The bastard with the belt was frightened at first, but when he saw that there was only one person and he was not big in size, he smiled and cursed.

Zhou Hao Chen’s face was covered with snot and tears, his crying changed into a yell when he called out, “Teacher Bai!”

“Stay there for me!” Teacher Xiao Bai, who had always been gentle and elegant, screamed first and hissed, “Whoever dares to fucking move, I’ll kill them!”

As he said this, Bai Ruan showed a fierce look before taking large strides towards the gangsters. It looked like he was piercing them with his words.

These gangsters were all demons. Knowing that those who didn’t have a spiritual aura around their bodies were not necessarily humans, they could also be big demons with the ability to converge freely. Therefore, seeing Bai Ruan’s small body that could be knocked down with a single punch, but still dared to be so arrogant stunned them for a while, and they couldn’t make up their minds on whether to act or not. Bai Ruan used this precious moment to grab Zhou Hao Chen’s wrist and pulled the restless teenager up, shoving him behind him in a protective manner.

To save money to feed these vicious dogs, Zhou Hao Chen’s body was as light as a feather.

Surrounded by the five dog demons, Bai Ruan gritted his teeth, mentally calming down, and slightly spread his arms to protect Zhou Hao Chen who was behind him. Step by step, they walked backwards and retreated out of the alley. The sharp carnivorous demon spirits prickled on Bai Ruan’s nerves, but it didn’t have much of a deterrent effect. At this moment, he was almost grateful for the three days of torture from Lang Jing Feng. If it weren’t for being scared to numbness by the wolf demon, his legs would have given way when the five dogs had stared at him.

Bai Ruan protected Zhou Hao Chen and withdrew a few steps. The gangsters began to feel that Bai Ruan’s foreign powers were just acting. One of them shouted, “Stop! Who allowed you to leave!”

As soon as the voice fell, the other gangsters also took action. Two of them withdrew their swing sticks from their lower back.

Seeing that they weren’t fooled, the fierce expression on Bai Ruan’s face quickly turned into worry. He speedily turned around, slammed into Zhou Hao Chen and shouted, “Run! Run! Call someone!”

Zhou Hao Chen was taken aback. He turned his body and started to run. Bai Ruan grabbed his wrist and used the little white rabbit’s running talent to jump out of the alley, shouting hoarsely as he ran, “Help! Somebody please help!”

The sound waves dissipated in the air like ripples. The farther it was, the weaker it would be. When it was on the verge of disappearing, the sound waves that were so small that the human ear could not catch it drifted into the ears of a keen wolf.

Lang Jing Feng, who was walking home, moved his ears slightly as his eyes turned. He turned straight toward the direction of the sound, a pair of wolf eyes shining almost creepily under the night.

There was no hesitation. Lang Jing Feng suddenly spread his two long legs, flew across the street and over a wall like wind. He approached the source of the sound with the shortest route. Although his speed was fast, there was almost no sound. It was just like a male wolf rushing to track its prey in the dark wilderness.

On the other side, the gangsters in the alley finally realised that they had been fooled by Bai Ruan’s acting skills, and yelled to catch up, “Fuck! You trash! You were pretending just now!?”

Zhou Hao Chen, who was not physically strong and was dragged forward by Bai Ruan, panted hard. “Teacher Bai…huhu…you can’t fight?”

“Do you think I can fight?!” The expulsion was almost reaching its limit! The wind was blowing at Bai Ruan’s feet as he desperately dragged Zhou Hao Chen to escape. He yelled wildly. “Help, help, help!”

The two ran in front while the five hooligans chased after them relentlessly. Zhou Hao Chen ran too slowly, and he was dragged by Bai Ruan to catch up. But Bai Ruan was an agile rabbit demon. He may be worse than ordinary humans in terms of strength, but at this moment, Zhou Hao Chen was dragging down his physical strength. The speed of the dog was not weaker than that of the rabbit. If this went on, the two would soon be caught by them.

“Go call the police!” Bai Ruan stopped abruptly and pushed Zhou Hao Chen’s back. “I’m stopping them!”

This was not the time to dilly-dally and push the other to escape first. It was best if one person escaped to seek support than have them both stuck here in danger. Zhou Hao Chen gritted his teeth and ran to the main road outside the alley. Seeing that he had escaped smoothly, Bai Ruan hurriedly covered his head with his arms, secretly using his demonic energy to cast a protection spell around himself to take less damage in preparation for the assault. Before Bai Ruan’s demonic energy was exhausted, those little demons wouldn’t be able to touch him.

It wasn’t the case of Bai Ruan not wanting to use spells to kill these gangsters to get revenge for his student. However, just like humans having multiple blood types, there were also many types of demons. Bai Ruan’s spirit was calm and gentle, wide and spacious. He was able to cast protective spells with half the effort, but it was difficult for him to cast offensive spells. Even if they were used reluctantly, their effectiveness was extremely limited. Therefore, be it physically or by using spells, Bai Ruan was not born to be a fighter.

Delay them first. I will run when Zhou Hao Chen runs far enough… Bai Ruan thought he was even ready to be beaten, yet the expected swinging stick did not come. Instead, it was replaced by a whiff of a familiar scent that Bai Ruan was forced to smell for three days.

The evil energy was bitter and cold with the scent of frost and moon, mixed with blood and murder. It was chilling. But compared to the evil spirits of these five wild dogs, it smelled many times better.

The wild dogs smelled the wolf scent and their movements became stagnant, but they didn’t run. After all, Lang Jing Feng was outnumbered and he was bare-handed. In addition, they had just fallen for Bai Ruan’s pitiful scare. Now that the wolf came, they were not so afraid.

Lang Jing Feng was slender and stood against the wall with his hands in his trouser pockets, carrying a seemingly heavy school bag. With a face filled with impatience, he yelled, “Shortie…”

“You…” Bai Ruan was frightened and angry at the same time, and he couldn’t wait to put his height booster pads back in his shoes.

However, Zhou Hao Chen, who had run away for a short period of time, consciously claimed the title of short man and said timidly, “I’ll call someone!”

Bai Ruan, “Uh…”

It turned out that he was calling Zhou Hao Chen. No wonder. I am not short at all.

“Get back here.” Lang Jing Feng, who couldn’t remember the name of his new classmate, frowned and hooked his fingers at Zhou Hao Chen. The wolf tilted his head and his tone was lazy. “It will affect my performance.”

Zhou Hao Chen didn’t go back. He stood still and shouted, “Then I will stand here! If you can’t win, I will call for help!”

Lang Jing Feng, “…”

“You are so fucking arrogant!” Suddenly, a small bastard who had been ignored picked up a stick and swung, aiming for Lang Jing Feng’s head. Lang Jing Feng swiftly moved his body and the stick slammed down right in front of him. Taking advantage of the moving weapon, he raised his legs and gave a powerful kick, causing the gangster to bounce like a cannonball, slamming into another wall in the alley with a loud bang. The pain was so intense that the other party could not help but make a dog-like bark, slide down like mud and remain motionless.

The other four gangsters were startled and bared their teeth and claws at Lang Jing Feng. He didn’t evade, as if he didn’t care about the fists and fanciful moves coming his way. The pair of scorching wolf eyes only stared fiercely at the one holding the stick that had swung towards Bai Ruan.

Immediately afterwards, Lang Jing Feng’s whole body soared. He stepped forward, stretched out a big hand with distinct joints, slapped the gangster’s face like dough and slammed the person against the wall with a loud bang. The back of his head collided with the wall, causing the gangster to slide down like softened noodles.

One metre away, Bai Ruan was irritated by the skyrocketing wolf demon spirit. His legs softened and his face paled. Along with the gangster, he slid against the wall and sat on the ground.

“Don’t be afraid,” Lang Jing Feng glanced at Bai Ruan and even whispered to comfort him during his busy act, then turned his hand back to flip another one of the hoodlums.

The author has something to say:

Lang Jing Feng: Teacher Xiaobai was scared senseless until he wasn’t able to stand up. He needs me to kiss him to calm down.

Bai Ruan Ruan: … Try it with a kiss, I will show you what is called sudden death. 🙂
