Chapter 21.2 – His family’s little apprentice is much better than this little liar

Xie Cheng probably would’ve never imagined that the thin young man in front of him would have such great strength. Let alone breaking free his clasped wrist, he couldn’t even move it. The pain of bones being crushed penetrated into Xie Cheng’s flesh and blood and into his mind. The pain coming from his wrist told him that he would be unable to hold on soon.

Although Xie Cheng was an illegitimate child, he had always been the heir that Father Xie favored for so many years. So he was raised like a real wealthy young master. For the first half of his life, the housekeeper and nanny would feel so distressed if he even so much as scratched his skin. Although he wasn’t so delicate, it was the first time he felt pain that reached into his bones.

Xie Cheng opened his mouth to say something, but only rough breathing came out.

In the next second, the young man’s foot kicked his calf, causing him to stagger and kneel on the ground.

The sound of Xie Cheng falling to the ground attracted attention.

When Xie Qing frowned, opened the door, and walked out, what he saw was the scene in front of his eyes—

Xie Cheng’s complexion turned as pale as snow and he was kneeling on the floor. Qi Huaiyu, who was next to him, had his hands behind his back and his brows were slightly furrowed. On his beautiful face was a puzzled expression as he innocently asked, “What’s wrong with you?”

Xie Cheng almost spurted out a mouthful of blood out of frustration.

You motherf*cker, you almost broke my wrist, and you’re still asking me what’s wrong?

It’s a pity that Xie Cheng was in a lot of pain. Otherwise, Qi Huaiyu, this villain, would have been exposed in front of Xie Qing at this moment.

Qi Huaiyu had been facing Xie Cheng at this moment and noticed the anger that had just reached its peak in his eyes. Relying on the fact that Xie Qing was unable to see it, the smile on the corners of his lips turned up unscrupulously. He opened his mouth silently to say something. Obviously, Xie Cheng was unable to lip-read, but unexpectedly, he actually understood.

The other party was saying, ‘When do you want to die?’

“…”

Xie Cheng gritted his teeth, endured the pain that was coming from his wrist and the weakness coming from his legs and got up from the ground with difficulty. He turned around and went downstairs without saying a word. His back even showed his anger.

At the same time, Qi Huaiyu turned around to look at the young man who was leaning against the door and looking at him with a smile that wasn’t exactly a smile. His eyes lit up as he asked, “Ge, why have you come out?”

Qi Huaiyu’s face was really deceptive.

He had a handsome appearance and his facial features were even more outstanding. People like Xie Qing, who liked to look at faces, would always be attracted to him involuntarily when they met him. But this was just a feeling and Xie Qing could tell what was more important at the moment.

Xie Qing smiled lightly and didn’t answer him, pretending to be ignorant. “What happened just now?”

Qi Huaiyu just spread out his hand. “Who knows? When I opened the door, I saw that man just kneeling on the ground. It seems that he tripped on a flat surface. His face seemed very ugly1ugly in the sense that he doesn’t look too happy.”

After saying that, he took a breath and said, “Ge, how can someone be so stupid to fall down like that?”

Xie Qing looked at Qi Huaiyu with a smile in his narrow eyes.

He repeated Qi Huaiyu’s words, “Yeah, how could he be so stupid.”

That night, Qi Huaiyu refused to go back home and insisted on staying at Xie Qing’s house for dinner. Xie Qing didn’t refuse him either. Dinner was prepared casually, but Qi Huaiyu ate very happily, picking food for Xie Qing and serving him. He was very attentive.

After dinner, Xie Qing took his mobile phone and planned to go downstairs for a stroll. Qi Huaiyu followed behind him like a tail.

It was almost 8 o’clock at this point and the sky had already turned gray. The dim street lights lit up the area. Xie Qing and Qi Huaiyu walked on the path one after another as the music of the square dance echoed in their ears. Xie Qing occasionally bumped into a few flying insects, which he would take pictures of.

Out of the corner of his eye, he suddenly caught sight of the young man behind him. He was stunned by this familiar scene.

In his memory, there seemed to be someone like Qi Huaiyu who would always follow behind him like a little tail. Even if he tried to chase the person away, the other person wouldn’t leave.

That person was his little apprentice.

Probably because the other person had no sense of security as a child, when Xie Qing brought him back to Chaoyun Sect, he had always clung onto Xie Qing.

He was even more clingy than a kitten.

Thinking of what happened in Chaoyun Sect, Xie Qing’s eyes seemed to change. Qi Huaiyu was keenly aware of his change and suddenly took a step forward. Relying on his height, he stood shoulder to shoulder with Xie Qing, speaking in a voice that was softer than the night, “Ge, what are you thinking about?”

Xie Qing glanced at him and said, “An old friend.”

Normally, Xie Qing wouldn’t talk too much about himself to Qi Huaiyu, but tonight seemed to be a good night. So Xie Qing rarely said a few more words, “A little brat.”

When Xie Qing left the last small world, Qi Huaiyu was just twenty years old. In reality, it’s just the age of adulthood.

“What do you think of him?” The young man tilted his head as if he were curious.

“The two of you are a bit alike.” Xie Qing said. He suddenly laughed and pushed Qi Huaiyu’s head aside, with a bit of meaning in his words. “But he’s much better than you.”

Qi Huaiyu seemed to be a bit unhappy about being belittled by others. Under the cover of the night, he muttered, “What’s so good about a little brat?”

Qi Huaiyu didn’t think that he was a well-behaved child when he was young.

He had held his sword and provoked all the young disciples of the Chaoyun Sect.

He would enter the wild forest, which was full of spirits, alone.

He would even unscrupulously injure himself all over.

Everyone else thought that he was eager to become stronger, except for himself. He himself knew that it was for a simple reason. The dirty desire that he hid and that hidden greed that wasn’t allowed by the world.

He was well-behaved and sensible, but he only wanted to be that way towards Xie Qing.

“You don’t understand.” Xie Qing dropped this sentence lazily and stopped talking.

His little apprentice was much better than this little liar.

Much more obedient.

At one o’clock in the afternoon of the next day, Xie Qing arrived at the TV station in time. Several staff members of the program were standing at the door and chatting, seemingly waiting for the guests and artists to arrive. Hearing the movement, they turned around and saw that the person who had arrived was Xie Qing. Several of them were stunned.

Xie Qing blinked when he saw them. Their eyes were almost glued to him. After looking at them for a while, one of them sighed with relief. A staff member came forward with a smile on his face and a bright light in his eyes, saying, “Fufeng! You’re the first one to arrive today.”

From their strange reaction just now, Xie Qing guessed that Xie Ling had probably arrived.

However, it was just the public’s opinion. Had Xie Ling already reached this point in the hearts of outsiders?

“It seems that I arrived quite early.”

Xie Qing smiled as someone led him to the lounge. As they were walking towards the lounge, the staff member was talkative. Instead of quietly trying to dig out information about Xie Ling from him, he just reminded him in a low voice——

“There’s another guest coming today. He has publicly pursued Xie Ling before.”

The program team would invite guests from time to time; this was something Xie Qing knew well.

But this guest had pursued Xie Ling.

To be honest, eight out of ten people in the entertainment industry had publicly pursued Xie Ling.

After thinking for a few seconds, a name suddenly popped up in Xie Qing’s mind. “Li Youbai?”

The staff member was stunned when he heard the name and then looked at Xie Qing with a strange look.

This was unimaginable.

Although, Li Youbai could be said to be someone who had half a foot in the entertainment industry. But looking at things, he shouldn’t have anything to do with Xie Qing. But he was able to guess it—it really was too amazing!

The staff gave Xie Qing a thumbs up.

Speak of Caocao and he arrives.

Only twelve minutes later, Li Youbai pushed the door to the lounge open. He was dressed in a very casual manner today, wearing a casual black long-sleeved shirt. With the aura of someone from a wealthy family who was still in his youth, he made people blush and made their heartbeats speed up for no reason. The moment he opened the door, his eyes searched around the lounge until he found the person that he was looking for.

He had heard from the other staff members that Xie Qing had arrived.

And only Xie Qing had arrived.

What can be seen was a young man wearing a simple white shirt and a pair of trousers with his legs crossed. He was leaning on the sofa, closing his eyes, and resting. His hair fell slightly on his forehead. With his lowered head, half of his face was covered. However, just by looking at the outline of his figure, Li Youbai could easily picture Xie Qing’s appearance in his mind as well as the bright red tear mole at the end of his eyes.

Even Li Youbai found this surprising.

He strode to the sofa opposite Xie Qing and sat down. He gave him a smile and greeted him, “Good afternoon, A-Qing.”

It was obviously the same title that people referred to him by, but from some people’s mouths, Xie Qing felt disgusted when Li Youbai called him out loud.

He raised his eyes and looked at the man opposite him.

The memories that involved Li Youbai flashed in his mind and the ends of his eyes slowly raised. He also showed a faint smile. “What a coincidence.”

“Not a coincidence; I just came to see you.”

Looking at Xie Qing’s dark but bright eyes, Li Youbai couldn’t help but sigh in his heart. It’s hard to imagine that a dull and stupid person had finally recovered. He was even able to throw the person who bullied him into the detention centre not long after he recovered.

He also set up a proud person like Xie Ling to the point where he couldn’t advance or retreat.

“Did you know? Before Yu Kaize’s accident, even the young master of the Qi family had planned to help him. I had initially thought that Yu Kaize would rest easy from now on. But I didn’t expect that he would be spending the rest of his life in prison without the chance to recover.”

Li Youbai rubbed his chin and said with surprise in his tone, “A-Qing, you’ve really opened my eyes. I’m really curious. What kind of high branch have you climbed to the point that even Qi Huaiyu can’t beat you?”

Xie Qing’s right index finger caressed the ruby ring on his left hand.

His seemingly ordinary movements couldn’t hide the smile in his eyes as he asked softly, “Do you want to try it out yourself? Try and you’ll know which high branch I’ve climbed.”

The smile on Li Youbai’s face froze.

But it soon returned to normal. “I think you’ve misunderstood me.”

Xie Qing stood up from the sofa and looked down at him condescendingly, saying calmly, “Misunderstanding? Fear not; I can tell right from wrong. Whatever you guys have done to me before, I’ll return the corresponding favour.”

Stepping out the door of the lounge, his pale and slender fingers clasped onto the doorknob. His voice sounded soft. “Since you’ve come to the door yourself, why don’t you take a good look at how your sweetheart Xie Ling will fall from heaven to hell? Then you might be able to think of a way to die in a more pleasing way.”

The moment the door closed, Xie Qing lowered his eyes, seemingly laughing.

The young master of a wealthy family with a proud family background.

It’s unknown what kind of expression he will have when he is not even as good as a beggar.

It must be a wonderful spectacle, right?
