Remedial classes became the focus of the senior high school students’ second semester holidays.

Qu Zhengyan’s chances of staying at the Du’s home on weekends immediately decreased. After it happened several times, Du Yongjin started to cross the river to find him. The first time he waited at the school gate, it attracted plenty of attention.

Compared with the studious No. 19’s black school uniform, the flamboyant appearance of Du Yongjin was like a shining star. Everyone walking by took a second look at him – a beautiful young man with a slender figure, having an unapproachable atmosphere yet blessed with a delicate face and smooth skin. It was extremely conspicuous.

Wang Bailu recognized him at a glance.

She was next to Qu Zhengyan as they left school. They were discussing the practicality of the student’s activities for the past two weeks.

Oh, right. Our classmate Qu Zhengyan had been promoted as the head of logistics in the student union this semester. Henceforth, he had to devote a certain amount of time and energy to the union’s work.

At this time, Wang Bailu suddenly stopped talking. Qu Zhengyan looked at her puzzledly. Following her line of sight, he saw Du Yongjin not far away.

Instinctively, he laughed and waved.

“He’s waiting for you. Your friend?” Wang Bailu asked faintly.

“It’s Du Yongjin.” Qu Zhengyan answered. He thought of the incident between them and was slightly embarrassed. “Ah, that…”

“Oh, he’s that…” Wang Bailu glanced at Du Yongjin and said, “Go ahead. We will revise the plan tomorrow and we can prepare for the implementation next week.”

Her attitude was like meeting an ordinary classmate who had been to the same school, familiar with the name but not the person. Without any other reaction, she simply said goodbye to Qu Zhengyan and turned away.

Qu Zhengyan let out a small breath and watched her walk away.

Then he ran quickly to Du Yongjin with a smile on his face. “Xiao Jin, why did you come here?”

Du Yongjin squinted slightly and looked in the direction where Wang Bailu left. “Who is that? That’s not…Was that Wang Bailu? Why is this woman here?”

Again, Qu Zhengyan remembered that there was still a hurdle to pass. He previously had desperately concealed the fact that he was in the same school as Wang Bailu.

Having to confront this fact, his face turned red. At the same time, he acted innocent. “That… She… entered No.19 High School… ”

“Why haven’t you mentioned this to me before?” Du Yongjin frowned, obviously unhappy.

“That… I didn’t mention it?” Qu Zhengyan said vaguely, “It’s not an important thing… I probably forgot?”

Du Yongjin, with a wooden face, stared at him as his two hands were stuffed inside his trouser pockets.

Qu Zhengyan scratched his head and put on a bitter face, determined to continue his confused act till the end. “I really didn’t tell you?”

“You didn’t!” Du Yongjin responded seriously. “What’s more, you didn’t say you were so familiar! What were you doing just now? Chatting so intimately!”

“It’s not that.” Qu Zhengyan explained forcefully, “I don’t know her very well. She just told me that my planning needs to be changed. She is the head of the student union. The head orders me to work. Of course, I can only listen.”

Du Yongjin was silent for a moment. “She’s doing quite well here!”

Qu Zhengyan dared not make any sound.

After a while, Du Yongjin said, “I just don’t like this girl!” His brows were wrinkled and he pursed his lips.

“If you don’t like it, don’t like it.” Qu Zhengyan said hastily. “Anyway, you don’t usually stumble upon her.”

Du Yongjin exhaled and glared at him. “You can’t like her either!”

“I never like her at all!” Qu Zhengyan pleaded against the accusation. “We only speak when something happens in the school. Other than that, we have nothing to do with each other.”

This was not a lie. Only, “when something happens at school” was not as infrequent as he suggested. Seeing that Du Yongjin was still a little worried and depressed, Qu Zhengyan carefully changed the topic. “Xiao Jin, why did you find me today? Is there something wrong?”

“I was given two tickets for tonight’s midnight movie. I also got a new set of game cards.” Du Yongjin’s tone became less tense.

“Midnight?” Qu Zhengyan hesitated. “But, tomorrow I still have to go to school. There are remedial classes.” And just now, Wang Bailu said that she would come to revise the plan tomorrow.

Du Yongjin was not happy again. “You said there were cram classes previously two weeks ago. You can’t possibly go every weekend right?”

Weren’t weekend classes the norm for students? You, a leisure high schooler, are the rare one. Qu Zhengyan smiled bitterly.

“Shit shit shit.” Du Yongjin circled his arm around Qu Zhengyan’s neck and compelled him, “Come to my house this weekend. Quick, call your mother.”

“Well, even if I want to go, I have to go home and change my clothes first.”

“Don’t bother. Go back and wear mine.”

“You…”

In the end, Qu Zhengyan gave up and called home. At the Du’s house, he took advantage of the time when Xiao Jin bathed, to slip to the terrace to call Wang Bailu and ask for leave.

Just after he put away his mobile phone, Du Yongjin came out of the bathroom with a small towel. He wiped his hair with a towel and looked up and down at Qu Zhengyan.

Then he laughed. The towel dropped and he jumped on Qu Zhengyan to peel his clothes. “You are not obedient. Who allowed you to wear that black T-shirt? Change it, change it!”

“I don’t want to!” Qu Zhengyan was forced back on the bed. Covering his chest, he struggled to resist. “That one doesn’t match me, this one is more comfortable.”

“This doesn’t look good!”

“It’s good!”

“It’s not nice!”

“Will you change or not?” Du Yongjin rode on him, squinting and threatening.

Qu Zhengyan thought for a while and counter threatened, “If you don’t let me wear this, I won’t go out to the cinema with you. I’ll play games at home by myself!”

“……Tch!” Du Yongjin curled his lips and got up. “You can’t appreciate style at all. How can you attract a girl dressed like this?”

“I don’t intend to attract anyone!” Qu Zhengyan retorted dully.

Du Yongjin waved his hand indifferently and opened the closet door to find clothes to wear. Qu Zhengyan sat next to him and watched him throw away his bath towel, revealing his naked body. He had seen it more than once and yet he couldn’t stop sighing. Alas, it was so beautiful!

After he grew up, Du Yongjin’s attitude towards Qu Zhengyan was still a little overbearing, but it was much less stiff than before. Time allowed the two teenagers to be closer, especially when it came to becoming more open with each other.

Du Yongjin always liked taking the initiative.

He liked to lay his neck on Qu Zhengyan’s shoulder. He liked to talk and smile softly close to Qu Zhengyan’s ear. He liked to lean beside him when sitting. He liked to disturb and fight with him at home.

Qu Zhengyan liked them all.

He liked Xiao Jin’s aloofness and arrogance when he faced others. It made him feel that he was different from others in Xiao Jin’s heart.

They were best friends, weren’t they?

Since he first came to find Qu Zhengyan, Du Yongjin often visited No. 19 High School, sometimes he even came over on weekdays. Inevitably, he would come across Wang Bailu. Every time he met her, he would turn upset. Qu Zhengyan didn’t know what else to do. He tried to avoid any chance of interaction between the two.

However, the truth was, Wang Bailu had never said a word about this. Even if she accidentally met Du Yongjin, she would leave quietly without any malice. As time went on, Du Yongjin’s aversion to her turned into paranoia.
