Song Yi’s breathing suddenly became erratic.

In such a beautiful environment, with blurred lights, Gu Xingchuan made such sensual actions, leaving the atmosphere too ambiguous, as if something out of control could happen in the next second.

He hurriedly withdrew his hand. His pulse was hot and throbbing. Song Yi quickly took a few steps from the coffee table and wiped at his wrist, pretending to be nonchalant. “Thank you for helping me celebrate my birthday. I am very happy.”

This sentence was true. It was the first time someone made so much effort to help him celebrate his birthday. Song Yi was touched, but at the same time he felt a little uncomfortable.

Their relationship was not very good. Though they had been entangled together twice, it was when they were both driven by biology. The first time, he didn’t even have any memory of, simply falling asleep after the frenzy.

Furthermore, Shen Li was squeezed in the middle again. Pushing and pinching, how ambiguous it was, not proper at all.

Gu Xingchuan squinted his eyes and looked at his profile, looking as if he was going to attack. “I don’t want you to thank me. I want you to kiss me. Right now.”

Song Yi gently touched the pulse on his wrist from an angle he couldn’t see. His heartbeat gradually stabilized. He curled the corner of his mouth and smiled pretentiously, “Are you a fucking frog? You need me to kiss you?”

Gu Xingchuan solemnly sat upright, folded his hands, stared at him unblinking. He grumbled, “I slept with you twice but I haven’t managed to properly kiss you yet. It is a pity.”

“…”

Twice.

Song Yi’s heart jumped. He looked at Gu Xingchuan in surprise, widening his eyes. Impossible.

When did Gu Xingchuan find out!

He knew, yet he didn’t say anything?

“I guessed it when we were on the island last time, but you were shy and didn’t want to admit it.” Gu Xingchuan’s mouth triumphantly curved. And then he glared back, “You made me ask Shen Li for confirmation.”

Song Yi’s head was buzzing. It was not because of shyness, but an embarrassment that burrowed into his head, exploding one by one like fireworks.

The most embarrassing thing he had done in his life was exposed by said person, by Shen Li.

But he had always had a strong psychological mindset and he was good at concealing unpleasant things to maintain peace. Before, he did imagine ways of dealing with this situation if Gu Xingchuan ever found out the truth. He sorted out his emotions and pretended to say calmly, “It’s a pity that I let you down.”

Gu Xingchuan always thought that he had slept with Shen Li and was even elatingly showing it off to him. Now that the truth became clear, he himself was uncomfortable. Likewise, Gu Xingchuan shouldn’t be retaining so much pride too.

“I’m not disappointed.” Gu Xingchuan stood up, walked behind Song Yiand lowered his head slightly. Being in close proximity, he carefully sniffed the glands behind Song Yi’s neck.

Song Yi didn’t use cologne today. There was a little light scent of shower gel, mixed with the slightly salty smell of sweat. These two were intertwined, arousing one’s desire beyond words.

Song Yi’s back stiffened, like a small animal exhibiting a response to stress, he did not move a bit.

Gu Xingchuan inhaled greedily. Even though he couldn’t smell the pheromone, the real smell of Song Yi’s body made him excited, sparking a fire from the bottom of his heart, making him want to strip every clothing on Song Yi to smell closer.

He licked his fevered lips, his voice hoarse. “This is what I desire.”

Song Yi’s heart skipped, like an antelope scenting a lion. This topic was very dangerous, he could not let it go on.

Song Yi moved his neck away, took a step forward, and increased the distance between the two. “Okay, let’s stop here. It was a misunderstanding. Now it’s over, you don’t need to take it seriously.”

Since you know now, so be it. Now that things have reached this point, he felt a little relieved. Although he lost his face, he no longer needed to hide it.

Let things continue as it is.

Gu Xingchuan squinted his eyes deeply and looked at him, slowly adjusting his irritated mood. “Can’t I be your alpha?”

“You, being my alpha?” Song Yi wiped his glasses and looked at Gu Xingchuan’s serious look. He felt it was a little funny. “I know that you are frustrated with Shen Li. Though you are disappointed in him, you can’t switch your sights to me. We are not compatible.”

Gu Xingchuan’s breathing was stagnant. His lips were pursed and he pressed hard, “Where are we not compatible?”

Song Yi firmly recounted, “First, I won’t be another’s substitute.”

“Second, we have no feelings between us. I can help you find an Alpha-Omega pair, yes. But you can’t pick your omega from us classmates. This won’t be proper, and it will be embarrassing in the future.”

“You think I’m just looking for an Alpha-Omega pair.” Gu Xingchuan’s expression was unspeakably ugly.

“What else?” Song Yi smiled and looked at him straight. “Regardless if you want to find an Alpha-Omega pair or a stranger, even rabbits don’t eat grass at the edge of their nest. In life, you need to have a bottom line.”

Gu Xingchuan stared at him for a long time, as if to carve him into his heart. He gritted his words out, “Since today is your birthday, I won’t argue with you.”

If Gu Xingchuan really argued, he would get so angry that he would explode.

Song Yi arrived home at ten o’clock in the evening, and the whole way was quiet, the sky turned from white to pure black, the stars twinkling as the trees along the way kept receding.

The parking lot was empty at night. Song Yi got out of the car, patted his clothes, and said farewell politely. “Goodbye. Thank you for helping me celebrate my birthday today.”

Gu Xingchuan sat in the car, turned his head and glanced at him. He bent down and took out a small box from the storage box, before handing it over.

It was made of black velvet, palm-sized and tied with a small ribbon bow of the same color.

Song Yi froze. He took it, and opened the box. Inside was a silver car key, from a Bugatti Veyron.

“I saw you liked it last time. Don’t shun it just because I drove it before. Even if I ordered one, it will take half a year for the new one to go to China.” Gu Xingchuan looked at him, as if waiting for praise.

To give gifts, was of course to give something the receiver liked. But Song Yi likes too few things, and Gu Xingchuan could only think of giving him the best that he can think of for now.

Song Yi deserves all the best in the world.

Song Yi was taken aback, his heart wavered. A good car was anyone’s favourite. Still, he endured his greed and closed the box. One must know what was slight or serious. Gu Xingchuan was a young master with a wilful and rash personality. Song Yi couldn’t be muddled by him. It was difficult for him to accept this car worth 20 million yuan, no matter what.

He thought about it, then teased back and tactfully said, “It’s great if you lend it to me to drive for a few days. But not if you’re giving it to me. I won’t help you look after this car.”

“Go ahead and drive it. I’ll raise it on your behalf.” Gu Xingchuan looked at him eagerly.

Song Yi smiled; it was difficult to refuse with this gaze. He temporarily took this scalding box. Later, he would find a chance to return it.

What Gu Xingchuan was planning, he could guess. Mentioning his intent, and himself being out of control. After all, an Alpha would do anything to sleep with an Omega.

He was too used to being sought after. But now that the person targeting him was Gu Xingchuan, he had no idea how to respond.

Song Yi returned home, leaving a TV light in the living room. Zhao Hongyan was sitting on the sofa, pulling a bunch of wool from nowhere, and was knitting a sweater. When she saw Song Yi, she hesitated a little. “You’re back.”

Song Yi changed his shoes in the hallway, gave a soft “en” and walked into the room with his head down.

Zhao Hongyan put down the ball of yarn in her hand and sighed softly, “I want to talk to you about something.”

Song Yi paused before sitting opposite Zhao Hongyan. He smiled and asked, “What’s the matter, what do you want to say to me?”

Zhao Hongyan’s expression was slow, mincing her words, “I heard Song Jie say today that Xiao Gu’s father is Gu Shaoyuan, the chairman of xxx Group.”

Song Yi nodded. “En, I have met his dad, rather amiable.”

He had a good impression of Gu Shaoyuan. Although he was in a high position, he didn’t have any pretensions.

Zhao Hongyan sighed again, her eyes were a little timid. “You should have told me earlier. Such a child came over to our house to cook. We have imposed on him.”

Song Yi knew what she was thinking, instead patting the back of Zhao Hongyan’s hand lightly, and consoled her, “Mom, he and I are colleagues. Him coming to our house to cook a meal has nothing to do with his family background. Don’t let it go to your heart.”

Zhao Hongyan shook her head, and said earnestly: “I know, I’m just afraid the other will get upset.”

Song Yi smiled lightly. “It’s not as if his father is the emperor. Why should I be afraid he is angry? Don’t think too much about it. No matter how rich his family is, we aren’t doing business with them so it doesn’t matter.”

Zhao Hongyan glanced at him, put her hand on the back of Song Yi’s hand. She whispered, “We are all just ordinary people. Mom didn’t ask you to be so prosperous. I just ask that you live through this life in peace. They are too different from us. It’s not good for you to make friends with him.”

Song Yi was taken aback, and Zhao Hongyan sighed. “No matter how much money is needed, no matter how big the house is, sleeping on goodness-knows-what, we are still going to sleep on a one-meter bed. Ordinary people like us, shouldn’t think about going up to the sky. Living a good life day by day is more important.”

Song Yi understood. Zhao Hongyan thought he was holding Gu Xingchuan’s thighs. Her thinking was rather sharp. Being out in this industry for so many years, he had not held any big thighs. Him coming to this step was all because of himself.

He was clean. He was unmuddied.

Song Yi pulled out his hand, stood up before lowering his head and smiled. “Mom, what you said is right, but there is one thing you said wrong.”

“What?” Zhao Hongyan widened her eyes, surprised.

Song Yi looked at her seriously, without changing his expression, he levelly said, “I am not an ordinary person.”

If he were the so-called “ordinary person” in Zhao Hongyan’s mouth, he would have died eight hundred years ago, starving and freezing in god knows where.

Zhao Hongyan was stunned, staring at him dumbfounded, never expecting that he would say such words.

Song Yi patted her on the shoulder and said softly. “Go to bed early, it’s getting late. Don’t wait for me to come back to talk about this kind of thing in the future. You can say it tomorrow. Your body’s health is more important.”

Zhao Hongyan touched a soft knife, her face flushed, and her hands were at a loss.

Song Yi walked to the bedroom door, seeming to think of something, and turned around. He stated, “Today is your Mother’s day, I almost forgot. Mom, you’ve worked hard.”1Because that’s the day she became a mother. >> Song Yi was born.

Every word of this sentence stabbed Zhao Hongyan’s heart. She was a mother who can’t even remember her child’s birthday, and in the end needed the child to remind her himself. She dared not lift her head in embarrassment, nor did she dare to look at Song Yi.

Song Yi opened the door and returned to his bedroom, leaning back against the door, and laughed at himself.

He thought that since Zhao Hongyan was awake, she would remember that it was his birthday today.

Unexpectedly, it was just to lecture him on how to be an ‘ordinary’ person.

Zhao Hongyan couldn’t even hold a candle to Gu Xingchuan.

  1. Aaaah! Poor master Gu, he should have led with ‘I like you’, not ‘kiss me I wanna be your alpha’
Also I can’t think of who is more shameless, Shen Li or Zhao

  2. Thank you for the translation – for the longest time the character I hate the most is his Mom. There are too many instances but the one that hurts the most (other than she bringing him down) is how she doesn’t cook but when she does, she learns dishes ShenLi likes but doesn’t know her own son gets painful ulcers from it. Song Yi is too filial and I wish he’d get the love he deserves.
